  1. There is a crazy new game called 3 Gun where most everyone is running around in TacOps or LImited with 9mm guns and 140mm magazines.
  2. I asked at Shot Show and the response at the time was "eventually."
  3. I finally got some of the new slide catches a week or two ago and I literally feel your pain. My theory is that the slide catches were designed to work with the new style grip modules that have a nice tall wall around that part. With that wall there they are comfortable enough to use but with my long thumbs when I tried them in combination with an old style grip I caught my thumb on the sharp point and quickly switched it back out for the older style. The Large and Small grips I bought from SIG in the last week both have the new style box around the new slide catch area and they included a new style slide catch with the grip for free. I am going to work on texturing up a new grip for myself and then switch to the new slide catch to confirm that it resolves the issues of it being a bit pointy. I also pointed this issue out to Bruce to relay to SIG to ensure the new competition P320s don't ship with the new release without addressing this issue.
  4. Bruce gray says is drop in trigger parts are now in production and he is finalizing the finishing process for them. Not sure how far out that would put them. You try running the gun with just one sear spring. That will change the feel but should bring down the weight. For the real breakthrough it takes some geometry changes that Bruce Gray isn't even a fan of having to perform. His new drop-in triggers address that of course and they also add another internal component that makes the thing drop safe even if no sear springs are present. It also includes a full spring kit. You can, of course, adjust the timing on the double click while you are playing around if you are finding that to be too far off. Once you start playing with where the striker is released you will also likely have to readjust timing on the trigger reset (second click) to assure you don't short stroke your reset. In the meantime I am spoiled because of Bruce. My primary P320's trigger pulls straight back at 3lb 3oz. Less if I pull it at an angle. It feels great and is still using a full powered striker spring so I have had zero issues with igniting primers of any kind.
  5. 1. Springer Precision has been doing some optic cuts for P320 including Delta Point. The P320RX that will ship with the optic installed is currently in production and we should see them rolling out in the next month or so. Completed guns will be coming before anything else. You might also check in with Bobby Carver. He hinted that he was working on something for the P320 and he might have a frame mounted optic option worked up. 2. Springer is the only real game in town. He can install magwells on a small grip module. He also has a huge six ounce brass magwell that might go over well on an Open gun. 3. Springer and Taylor Freelance are good options. Springer has the only 170mm option for the P320 at present with his plus 10 extension. I would get a couple of those and then grab some SIG factory P320 21 round magazines to get you started. The biggest challenge you will have is finding a full size threaded barrel and a matching comp. I would ask Scott Springer about this as well. He has been itching to do a compensator on a P320 and may have some ideas.
  6. My three mags arrived the other day. Round #21 was tight but it went in by hand and I functioned checked the gun with 21+1 and it ran without an issue shooting my 127PF loads. I also got a mag gage from Springer Precision. These things fit the gage but they are perhaps just a hair longer than they need to be. It's obvious that SIG was shooting for them to be exactly 141.25mm and they are on the money. If using the stock base pads, however, I might shave the smallest of passes off of that bottom corner of the base pad just to make sure. Springer Precision is hard at work making an aftermarket base pad that will extend the front of the magazine to ensure you get the most possible rounds into that 141mm package. In the meantime you can remove the factory base pad that is designed to fill in the grip and replace it with a base pad off of a standard 17 round magazine if you want to run these with a magwell grip. I saw pictures of Lena at USPSA 3 Gun Nationals and it looked like she was running these magazines with the standard base pads in her gun. I expect Phil was running them to except Phil also looked to be shooting one of the "Target" grip modules with the integrated factory magwell. I need more pictures to confirm.
  7. The Fiocchi 7/8ths almost ran in mine. If I really kept my shoulder into the gun they would usually work. After that I tried lightening the bolt somewhere lost ground. Thanks for the recommendation. I was looking for a more powerful slug to try as the Remington were not cutting it for me either. I agree, no need to try to go super light. Not like we are double tapping paper targets or anything.
  8. I have the same issue with the CZ which is why I moved to the SIG P320 with a Large grip module.
  9. 2 oz. You can add weight up until 31.4 on the full size.
  10. They do offer factory Glocks with factory threaded barrel. One would need to buy that model and use it to be legal within the Production rules. But to your point, yes, can just swap out a factory non-threaded barrel for a threaded barrel (factory or aftermarket) and run production. This would be illegal with current rules. And that model needs to be on the Production gun list.
  11. Easily. They are about 1.2 OZ I think. subtract .1 oz for the removal of the factory base pad. you can easily add a FAT Guide rod which is 0.50 oz and an extended magazine release which is actually 0.10oz lighter. Sights are negligible as is the Large grip module.
  12. Here are some great shots of the new magazine: http://www.osagecountyguns.com/blog/news/sig-sauer/new-sig-p250-p320-full-size-21rd-extended-lenght-magazine/
  13. Alma do you have a link to the Grams springs and followers. Thanks Matt Springer Precision sells them but right now he has been using XDM followers for the P320 magazines while Bevan Grams finalizes the P320 specific follower design. The XDM followers will not lock back the slide and could use a bit more tension on the last round but will reliably feed 23 rounds. You can modify those followers to put a bit more tension on the last round or I sometimes completely modify followers designed for the CZ TS to get 23 rounds and a lock back but for most people it will be easier to just wait for Bevan to put out the P320 ones. I will follow up with him soon to see where he is with it.
  14. I should mention that the tube itself is 140mm rather than depending on an extension to get you up to capacity.
  15. I ordered three today. It looks like the base pad will need to be modified or replaced with one of the standard base pads if you are running a magwell. Also, a reliable 21 rounds from the factory is awesome but you should be able to get two more with Grams springs and followers.
  16. I made that mistake with mine. Made it a bit more finicky when I try to fill the tube past division capacity.
  17. With how many rounds in the tube?
  18. I am 6'4" as well so I understand what you are talking about. I run a Large grip and the Obsidian Arms 1/2" Full Wing base pads since they perfectly extend front of the grip. http://www.obsidianarms.com/Sig-Sauer-P320-Base-Pads-s/101.htm
  19. I find it doubtful that you would gain that much weight. Taylor Freelance might be an option.
  20. So for loading one shot only the advantage goes to a port load off of a match saver. That's why I have a match saver on my A5. Loading with anything with more than one round on a locked back bolt advantage goes to A5.
  21. How do you figure this? Do you mean if you are only loading one shell?
  22. Interesting. Where do you typically shoot? Your profile indicates you're from Springfield, VA - I wouldn't guess that a match in VA would be all that dusty. Sounds like more of a problem out West. This was at Peacemaker National Training Center in Glengarry, WV. I can still hang the bag from the top of a 3 Gun cart so little convince is lost.
  23. I tried the cart route but unfortunately the first match where I used it was very dusty and it left my guns exposed. By the end of the day my shotgun was not running as a result of all of the dust collected. The gun racks went back to Amazon and it picked up a bag instead so that my guns can be kept more out of the elements between stages.
  24. The Compact ships with 15 round magazines and a Compact length RX has been promised. The Obsidian Arms base pads would do a reasonable job of extending out the Compact grip if you were stuck with those magazines. Otherwise there are 10 round magazines available for the full size (which usually holds 17).
  25. One advantage of having the RX come as a complete package optimized for an included scope is that you don't have to have adapter plates like the Glock models sport. Also, of course, the optic comes with the gun and is already mounted and co-witnessed, making a reddot option much more accessible. The mounting holes on the Romeo look pretty close to the Leopold ones and as long as it fit in the notch you might be able to have more holes drilled and tapped if necessary. Let's hope that the Romeo1 is good enough that people won't be compelled to find other options.
