  1. Have fun in Limited. Now don't ever pick up an open gun. The dark side might take you over.
  2. We used to see the plating stuck in paper targets when they would come off. Have you seen or noticed any of that?
  3. Personally I dislike the priming system on my 650. I much prefer the ones on the Hornady and the 1050. Truthfully each press has its Pluses and minuses.
  4. Dry fire, dry fire, dry fire. My vote goes to the tried and true. Steve Anderson.
  5. Welcome from the south. I started with a G34 and ended up going the STI route as well. You are in a good part of the state. Matches all over around there, at least the east coast.
  6. Nu finish and mineral spirits work for me.
  7. Grab that open 1911 and run in open. Calibre, magazine capacity, muzzle velocity would help us help you in your endeavors. Good luck and be safe.
  8. I shot single stack for a bit. That part sounds about right.
  9. If you have have small hands most definitely go for the gen 4, they are shorter front to back. I would opt for the production stipple package just in case you ever have the want to run it there. If it is going to be a dedicated 3 gun and limited pistol go ALL out. Slide cuts fancy trigger magwell and all. Although Mr. DK's triggers are bad a$$ and they are production legal too.
  10. Consistent hits on an IPSC steel at 100 yds is good enough for me be it full power or low recoil.
  11. I wouldn't weld the screw, loctite yes but weld no. Heaven forbid you ever need to change anything and you might be SOL.
  12. Last I checked HF has nothing to do with looks. Good on you for taking the risk and putting up the results. Let us know how it runs live fire and after you get it cerakoted.
  13. 17 lbs spring should run them fine. I currently use Fiocchi which is supposedly harder then most and have used Wolf in the past. 17 lb mainspring, extreme hammer, .40 eagle.
  14. Hmm, possibly a jock strap and some large safety pins. A whole new fashion statement. Jock strap OVER the pants.
  15. If I can check off one of those per match I am a happy camper but that list sounds like a solid one.
  16. I use a Lee U die on a 650 in .40 never had a problem with set back since.
  17. Try different pants, cut lower, cut lower to see what helps. Also cinch that inner belt as tight as you can. I do mine where it will not move.
  18. Like JPL said we would need pictures to better give an estimate. Also round count, builder, parts all would help in the process.
  19. Have you seen the super squad at a steel challenge event? All of their sight pictures are loaded ones. Granted, they do not pull the trigger but they weight of a full mag is pretty influential when the rule is only three seconds or so.
  20. Only remove split/damaged cases and I try to take the ones with the step out.
  21. Mags deform from use especially if you drop mags with lots of rounds still in it. It's probably rubbing on the mag. I say pull those mags and deal with the problem after Area 1. Focus on the match for this week instead of trying to fix equipment issues.
  22. The glock light is a cheap alternative that works but the streamlight takes my vote.
  23. When I shoot my blocks I end up with my finger in front of the trigger guard. With my 19/2011's I end up with it in the same spot as you. Not sure if there is any other place to really grip with that finger.
  24. I've played with a few. To me it's a fun range toy especially for new or youth shooters. Also a cheap way of seeing if you like open. Once you get serious I would have concerns about running them.
