  1. Base pads, To maximize capacity. New grips, preference/ergo. Sights, preference. Thumb safety, preference/ergo. I don't really consider this to be too much, just bringing the gun to fit you and the game. Now if you bought the gun and then dropped in a complete new trigger and chopping it up then that would be tinkering I guess. A TS trigger is great the way it comes.
  2. I might be the odd man out but I prefer the classic style. I have fairly large hands and larger magwells cant my hand weirdly and messes with my strong hand grip.
  3. I much prefer DAA or CRspeed. To flimsy and the hooks on the inner. The best is the comfortable CR inner mated to the stiffer DAA outer.
  4. Either the Dillon or the inline fab will do you well. While you are at it pick up a skylight and a roller handle, and you won't regret it.
  5. Both the 650 and the LnL have their quirks. BEnos usually leans more towards the blue side but you can get a LnL working nicely. Both warranties are great, I own both blue and red presses. With what you are wanting with regards to ammo I would say get the 650. That was you can just set up full toolheads and make the swap quickly.
  6. If you consider the few hours that time you spend reloading as relaxing and a nice break from everything then be my guest and keep the Lee. Personally I would just get the 650 and enjoy my time spent else where. Trust me, I started on a single stage with USPSA ammo consumption.
  7. Would your time be better used doing something else? Do you have kids, friends, significant other, hobbies, DRY FIRING. For some the time on the machine is wasted while for others it is a hobby in itself. Which party do you pertain too?
  8. As long as it cycles the gun sub minor is a great way to putz around and introduce new people to shooting as well.
  9. If you have large hands the stock release might suit you just fine, test it out before you buy anything else.
  10. Ruger SR 22 are fantastic little guns. MP22 is they are going to swap over to a full size with the same mechanics. Buckmark is my personal favorite. 22/45 for that 1911 feel. All have what you need and are good shooters.
  11. Trigger time is trigger time. Does this indoor league allow you to do table starts, low ready starts, bang reload bang? There are a few things you can't swing with a "slow" range, just talk to them without being an ass and some doors might open up.
  12. Ask around and see if you can borrow a gun, most of us have back ups or rigs we don't really use much. Two important things I've noticed that is frame/trigger size and a low recoiling round put the 147 or 160 gn pill to work. Usually a nicer trigger will make the venture into uspsa a little easier as the press doesn't influence the sights as much.
  13. What are you talking about, pre-travel, over-travel? There is a few ways of doing each but be wary. Most likely you are going to junk a few trigger housing before you get it right and repeatable. My suggestion is to just order a trigger or bar from one of the reputable dealers that already includes what you are looking for.
  14. There I quite a few people that run cailbre conversions in limited, I have not heard of an instance where they get bumped to open. I would like to know more about the legality as well.
  15. Welcome, there is a wealth of information on this site.
  16. How many rounds of which calibres do you plan on loading a month should help in this discussion.
  17. If you are purchasing the slide why wouldn't you just get it in 9mm to start with. Some people have fantastic results with the conversion barrels while others are plagued by problems. 40 open while nice is handicapped in capacity, sure you can find a place to reload on a field course but every once in a while you might be at a disadvantage. I vote 9.
  18. Carver makes a magwell but I am not sure if it fits in the box.
  19. I'll follow up on the SFPC forums and let them know you are still planning this for that weekend. I'm sure there are a few guys who would still come up. I'll link this thread for them and tell them to get in touch with you.
  20. I would say the level of her munchies is over 9000.
  21. Jay, The guys over at SFPC are planning a Ben Stoeger class around that time at OKC. The plan was to have it that same weekend but we are having our yearly picnic match then. Talk to Eddie D. next action pistol since he was the one setting all of that stuff up. Good luck setting everything up.
  22. Short is easier to transition and move in open. In limited is the same thing but you have less weight to absorb recoil so it come down to personal preference. I prefer the shorts though.
