  1. +1 for the Edge clone as far as being most common. Then it just boils down to how much money the shooter is willing to spend to upgrade. Metal grips are becoming very prevalent but are somewhat expensive.
  2. I run an 870 only because I had one in the safe. It's very easy to quad on once it is opened up, and trust me there is a lot you can open on one. I did have to sand down the fore end a lot, it would hit my hand and fumble the second set of shells.
  3. You can always contact your match directors to see if there are rental/borrow guns available if this turns out to be true.
  4. 5.7, 38 super comp, and 10 mm. These three should cover all of your bases between puff and hot rod loads. You never said anything about cost though.
  5. Last time I made a multiple purchase my FFL said that they don't need to notify for long guns but if it is multiple handguns on the same 4473 then they have to notify somebody, don't remember who though.
  6. TTI actually advertises it to work in the VM. I had a different issue when I installed it on mine and even made a post about it. The TTI gunsmiths got in contact with me and said that one of the springs is way too heavy and needs to be cut or changed. Couldn't get the this to be reliable and then just stopped shooting much 3 gun. Call them and describe the problems to them, they should be able to help.
  7. If you never go past 300 I would run a 16 and a 1x. I only felt like I needed zoom at ~450 yards.
  8. CORRECTION. That was my buddy Daniel from Brasil and it was 245 grain bullet in a SHORT colt. The bullet is actually longer than the casing. That fool took third overall with the crappy Taurus.
  9. I actually spoke to Val at HQ who does the manual changing of classification. They do have an internal policy that is not published anywhere that states that you cannot be more than one below your highest. This particular instance was oversighted during the manual bump. Technically there is no rule on this. Just that your scores will be ignored until they are not in the most recent 8.
  10. The separate toolhead for standalone brass processing is a good idea. How do you clean your brass, wet or dry? Is this for 3 gun plinking rounds or longer range stuff?
  11. CRspeed inner belt, DAA outer belt, Racemaster holster, CRspeed pouches.
  12. Is there any problem with your ammo now? If no, why fix what isn't broken.
  13. I would have a nice talk with said RM. If that doesn't get me anywhere I would talk to the MD and then the BOD of this particular match.
  14. Yea, just had to rub it in a little bit. Overall the match was great. If I can fit it in I will definitely be making the trip again. Hopefully with a correct classification.
  15. It would have worked better if there were enough RO's on Friday to smoothly run things. I did not enjoy having to hand off the tablet to have a shooter input scores because I was the only RO available on a stage. Yes, I heard the scores while being transferred to the backup copies and I had faith in the shooters I picked but it leaves room funny business. This was in Area 6 by the way. Honestly when you go to a level 2 there is a certain expectation you have of how it should be run. Either way I had a blast and would RO/shoot it again. Luigi from stage 4 bay 5,
  16. Correct in your findings and location. Except for one thing, the unclassified shooter. The rule book makes no mention of actually bumping the current class to one below the highest. Quite ambiguous to say the least since we all know that people are bumped like that. Yes the shooter took first C at an area match and got bumped, funny thing is the second place C also shot in the 60's and did not get bumped.
  17. Please, start! I try to chrono on 3 different machines, if I don't I bump my charge by .1 grains for that match ammo usually. Hell I didn't have time to do this for GA state this past weekend so my .45 loads came in at 180.4 PF. Not going to spend that much time and effort to mess something up. The six P's come in handy. But with regards to this topic. I have RO'ed for Gary before. He is an honest RM and will go out of his way to vouch for the shooter and always treats them with respect, even when the shooter gets a little hot headed. Trust me on that.
  18. I shoot major 45 just because it's what I have. Most of the time I feel at a disadvantage because of the stage breakdown. The extra two rounds will usually help you at most matches these days.
  19. Hell I weight my PROD, SS guns on two different scales before I plan on taking them. And don't even get me started on chronoing.
  20. What PF is your ammo usually? if you have a buffer I would say let it ride. I haven't seen a different running N320 and standard SPP though. Can't say anything about how it affect other powders.
  21. You can see the % and the High % didn't drop down. DING DING DING. Now can you quote the rule?
  22. I wouldn't pay more than $300 for it only because it's a gen 2 and the frames don't hold up well to major PF rounds. But with your accessories is not a bad deal per se
  23. As an RO I would have a talk with the RM about any holes in barrels or chokes if not in open/unlimited.
