Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. I do in training, as I pushed harder there than reload speed in matches. The key for me on keeping mags straight was not just tossing them in the hole, but to control the magazine in to complete seated position. Once I did this I no longer had the angled jams. I'm sure a big key to this was I shot single stack for a while before moving to limited/open. However, my dryfire has 10-15min of focused training on magazine insertion at the end of each session.
  2. Waybback when I had this angled insertion issue I removed my magwell and dryfire trained with out it. Haven’t had any issues since as I had to focus on correct placement. however, I realize it’s easier to change out magwells now and call it a day.
  3. The biggest impact to my off range training came from switching from plain dryfire to using the cool fire trainer. Having recoil forced me to grip the gun correctly all the time and not become relaxed. I never use the red laser attachment as I use reduced size targets so I can work on seeing sights lift and shooting at more focused spots.
  4. your profile says your in tampa, im in tampa too, im looking for a limited gun.  i'd  definitely like to look at it if you still have it

  5. Will the tubes be ok if swap to 38sc followers? I have the Dawson mag tuning kit so I can fix the feed lips properly to 38sc. I don't need a spacer correct.
  6. How would 38sc or super run out of a 40sw sti mag? Changing followers wouldn't be a problem, nor would adjusting the feed lips.
  7. Thats what I was thinking, plan to make this thumb safety actually work if you unpin the thing, but figured it would look better if fitted in the pinned position.
  8. When pinning your beavertail, do you still blend the top with it out/on safe like normal? As I'm thinking of blending the top and bottom at the same time in the closed/pinned position for better aethestics. I'm sure this is all in what a person wants to do, just wanted to see if that was the norm.

The sig rep I spoke with on Thursday said they don't have a date yet. So still waiting for it. Haha
  10. Definitely is a fun division, wish I jumped to it a long time ago.
  11. Like this one ? http://pro-amshooting.com/ except if it was updated........
  12. I'm not saying it isn't justified, just sucks for people like me that don't have piles of money to throw at gear. and well said. I'm currently shopping for a 2011, but I won't compete again for a few years at best, so I clearly don't need it. still want it though. damn internet. Oh, I definitely hear ya. Since day one of Magpul Dynamics it was always funny to see people chasing after the guns Chris shoots. Except every couple months he has a new build, so you can see some disparity in people when they try to keep up with him. His first runs of M&Ps sold out in an hour or something like that. His LaRue rifles were gone in no time and he's helped grow the sales for the Warsport LVOA. The threads on AR com about Costa were always funny to read as they kept up with what gear he was switching too. Now lets see what STI does in growth with the general tactical public. I'm sure Chris does. His company name is slapped on the side, he's probably got some sort of percentage per sale.
  13. Sure, but look at what his marketing capabilities have grown to. Magpul products became the household name, Salient has exploded, Knights Armament grew in commercial recognition, LaRue built the costa rifle and sold out like none other. Surefire, Aimpoint, Vortex now. Hes a marketing beast when you make quality products. Not to mention, he does a great job instructing and is all out enjoyable to be around. Our industry is entirely driven on buying sh*t we don't need. But you make it look cool and we throw cash at it that we don't necessarily have.
  14. <---- sitting here in the corner with my 40 open STI, long dust cover and lightened slide, with Geco ammo that works the comp pretty darn well and keeps the gun shooting flat. granted, when I make master I'll build a 9major gun and reload for it, so I can not have to reload those extra few times a match, and because I love to tinker and that makes finding a 9major load fun.
