Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. High primers are likely the culprit. Thanks for the help everyone!
  2. On both. You have to be right and it makes sense. I load on a 550 and maybe I am getting lazy when seating primers. Thanks for the tip! Your double action must be sweet with that light of a spring ?

    Light strikes

Shadow 2; factory hammer, 11 pound hammer and recoil spring, extended firing pin and light firing pin spring. I only get 100% ignition with federal pistol primers, am I missing something? With federal not easy to come by, it would be nice to get reliability with other primers. Any suggestions? Primers seated properly etc... So that doesn't appear to be the problem. Should I just go back up to a 13 pound hammer spring? The trigger is very nice as is, would hate to change it. Thanks. J
  4. Sounds like LOK may be what I am looking for. It may be hard to decide with all the Color options and combinations though!
  5. On my second season with my S2 and am loving it. One thing though I struggled with was I cannot get enough support hand on the gun with the factory grips. Not having much on hand to try I had a brand new set of factory SPOI rubber grips and put them on. Immediately picking up the gun it filled my hand way better. Shot a match today and really liked how they felt. My question is, what options do I have for grips that yield a similar profile? How close are the Henning grips? Thanks for your input guys it is greatly appreciated! J
  6. I had assumed something like that would be the case. I wonder if CZ Custom will ever offer a barrel and comp kit. Even if not used for major power factor, it would make for a nice steel gun, 3-gun pistol etc... Or minor power factor IPSC for anyone opting to do so. I plan to use mine for steel challenge and Pro-Am type matches.
  7. Would a Czechmate comp match up with an SPO1 threaded barrel? I have an open gun built on a Shadow but I am not sure what the smith used for a thread,... He built the comp and fitted it to stock barrel.
  8. Has anyone done any load development for their Shadow 2's yet? Looking at using 231 and WST with 124 and 147 with both plated and coated cast bullets. Thanks!
  9. If you are interested in a race holster, the Ghost "the one" fits and works excellent with the TS. Very secure, release on the draw is great. I highly recommend this holster.
  10. I load to 1.130-1.135". My barrel wouldn't hav more than 15,000 through it so I don't think that is an issue. I'll load up some at 4.9 and 5.0 and see where that gets me and I may revisit 231 and Titegroup as well. Thanks for your input, it is greatly appreciated.
  11. I chronographed my .40 loads the other day out of my TS and 4.8 gr of WST with a Campro plated 180 was giving me 912-920 FSS which is short of what I need for IPSC major power factor at 170. I'm not sure if I should just bump up the load or am I at the end of safe limits with WST at the short OAL? I would like some input before I start dropping more powder. Is it easier to make power factor with Titegroup, 231 or WSF as I've got lots of it. Thanks in advance.
  12. I wasn't aware of that sight Stu. I am waiting on a new sight to arrive from Europe that is used on the TS Orange. It looks like a great option as it's similar to the Shadow 2 sight which I currently use on my SPO1 Shadow. It's a nice sight.
  13. The mags are shooting star ones. What dimensions should they have?
  14. Eric thanks I happen to have a new 14 lb spring, I'll try it. As far as the extractor goes manually cycling the gun it feeds and chambers so smooth you would literally think the gun is empty. I'll try the spring first and go from there. Thanks guys.
  15. I have been having some feeding issues with my .45 IPSC Classic division pistol. I am using a cast 230gr TC bullet and I am seating them so the shoulder is essentially even with the case mouth. Any longer and the round will not chamber properly as the bullet is hitting the lands. The malfunction is the round is flipping upwards (bullet first) and not chambering and the slide closes on the round. Are .45s tempermental when it comes to OAL? The other thing that has me thinking is the gun oversprung. I have no idea whats in it, whatever the gunsmith put in it, its heavy so Im assuming a factory weight one. What would a good weight be for a .45 at 170 pf? Im having the same issue with my loads using 200 gr swc's. Any input is appreciated. My dad left me this gun when he passed away and Ive shot it very little. Thanks!
