  1. It's steel challenge. I believe BJ Norris regularly wins limited division with a single stack. I know I have shot my single stack in limited, for what it's worth. Current rule set should allow for the same DOH holster in SS as you could use in Prod. I suspect any difference in peak times between the two divisions will be driven by more data points in the prod division. It appears peak times are pretty much .5 seconds faster in prod. That being said, I would not expect there to be any difference in peak times if the talent pool were the same. The kimber with a dot would be an open gun.
  2. No, you will have to buy 126mm mags and a new magwell.
  3. Bens new book is a one night read and really does an excellent job of explaining the concepts you need to get better at this sport as well as providing guidance on diagnosis and correction of common errors.
  4. Hammer spring won’t change the pull more than nominally. As mentioned above, 15-17 seems to be the sweet spot for reliable ignition. I run the lightest recoil spring that the particular gun will reliably feed with. I’ve found it to vary based on the gun. You’ll need to do some experimenting.
  5. Does it lock back if you u hand cycle on an empty mag?
  6. I've got some 1000's through mine mounted to the slide of a minor PF gun... nary an issue.
  7. I paid $320~ for mine... its the 7.5 moa. Caught it on sale at optics planet, I believe.
  8. I'll have a kensight adjustable novak available for sale after my fixed set gets here from Dawson.
  9. I could make a case that my Trojan in .40 is the best gun I've ever owned... and I've owned a lot of high end guns.
  10. @Glock26Toter makes a cool product for dry fire that allows you to rack the slide while protecting the feed lips and keeping the rounds in the mag when it hits the ground. I think it’s called rack buddy.
  11. If you only run 155's or 170's... true.
  12. It's interesting. The new akai magwell looks very similar to the PT magwell as well. It seems like all the convex bottom magwells are going to require low profile base pads... this would be a considerable additional expense if you were already loaded up on dawson or grams basepads.
  13. I have a couple of mags that I use exclusively for dry fire. they both have cracked feed lips. I dont know if dropping the mags or slamming them into a metal magwell at 1000mph is the culprit, but yes... mags do break. I have borked a number of the dawson plastic inserts as well... both on limited guns and my single stack (where I still use an ice with the insert).
  14. I destroy magwells. I love the limcat v2 steel insert magwell. It’s the only one I haven’t destroyed yet. Basically the same same story as Waco Kid
  15. i dont want to get shot by minor PF ammo any less than I want to get shot by major and minor scoring is more interesting.... regardless of what the V stands for in some dead language.
  16. Ben takes his physical fitness a lot more serious than he used to...
  17. I'm in favor of killing major PF all together.... max capacity of 20 levels the playing field between .40 and 9... regardless of whether limited division scores major or minor.
  18. The bad news is that it will take @B_Seehawer about 20 minutes to make them look like they were tossed out of a truck at 75 mph...
  19. I had a 24c and honestly like a bcm/alg/nice milspec trigger with JP springs and a joe bob grip screw better....
  20. Get the LAG pouch mentioned above. If it’s good enough for Leograndis...
  21. The Louisiana guys at the Leograndis class this weekend said you're on the verge of rage quitting pcc and dusting off the production gun. Say it ain't so!!
  22. I’ve had issue with my spikes lower that the detent slot in the feed ramp is a different size than the hex screw that serves as the detent. Long story short, this allows the feed ramp to push up higher than it should be and causes bullets to feed north of the chamber. Probably not your issue, but something easy to check anyway.
  23. curious to see how these hold up... i've killed one on a pcc already. it has to take a lot more of a beating on an open gun...
  24. I went through this exercise last weekend, shooting doubles as MM mentioned... I was shocked at how much difference varying weights, springs, and barrel lengths made. I figured most of it was placebo effect... nope. Measurable differences in terms of dot movement and second shot impact at speed.
  25. There is plenty of great deals on gear on the classifieds here... Unless you know exactly what you want, it makes sense to buy used and test some stuff out.
