  1. Metal Forms were super reliable when I had my 9mm 1911. The drawback with them was that they were 9 rounders... but I couldn't get the Wilsons to run for crap, so 9 rounds was better than a 10 round paperweight.
  2. The 7 round 9mm clips (986) don't fit well, but no issues with 929 clips. Gotcha. That makes sense.
  3. Roger that, and it is still an option that is on the table. Attempting to compete with a revolver is a new thing for me, all I know is that these IDPA style moon clip holders I have aren't cutting it.
  4. It doesn't use center posts that I'm aware of, looks like the moon clips ride along a metal rail. I've never seen one in person though, im just going from the videos and pictures I have seen.
  5. Ok. Thanks. I became curious because there is a check box on his order page that you are supposed to click if you are planning on using it for 9mm.
  6. I have no desire to get into 40 cal, but I can't help but be intrigued.
  7. Seeing as I have a 625 and don't have any plans to buy an 8 shot, my vote would be for a L6 division.
  8. I'm intrigued with this product. My 625 that I bought came with some IDPA style moon clip holders and I'd like to have something a little more Icore/uspsa friendly. When looking at this product, it basically asks if you are planning on shooting a 9mm (which might be in my future). So this leads me to believe that 9mm moon clips wont work with the same one that I'd use for a 625?? Can anyone confirm this?
  9. For me, it's probably more aesthetics than anything. I hate the fish scale serrations on the slides. I prefer the more traditional styling of a Colt or Springfield in that price range.
  10. There's a sweet "custom" Colt Delta Elite on arfcom right now. I have no desire to add another caliber to the stable, but the Delta Elite has always called my name.
  11. I think paying for setup is a good idea if you find some dependable people to do it.
  12. Cool deal, I figured as much. This is the only current option within a couple hours of me. I've been shooting more icore (still not much) but mainly because the stages are kind of similar and the matches are over before noon.
  13. I love shooting USPSA, but our local club matches wind up with setup starting at 7am and tear down finishing at 3ish. It just seems like an inordinate amount of time to shoot 150 rounds. So with a 7mo old son, I've been unable to justify getting out to a match with it being an all day affair. I'm really just curious if this is the norm for a 50-80 shooter local match or if this is unique to my range because I've never shot else where.
  14. I was looking for this at brownells yesterday and didn't see it. Do you have to order straight from JM? edit: d'oh. see it is in stock in the enos store.
  15. And of course, duck season doesn't start for 9 more months and my OCD is compelling me to get this situation resolved as soon as possible.
  16. or if any of you competition only guys, want to sell me the mid bead and/or OEM mag tube spring that you took off your 1301, holla at your boy!!
  17. alright guys, this is probably an odd question. I just bought a used 24" 1301 that came with the Nordic +5. The thing is that will probably wind up being my duck gun too. What length mag tube spring do these come with from the factory? Beretta gave me a part number and sent me to brownells... of course, brownells is out of the part I need. So looking at buying a wolf spring and cutting it down so that I can convert it back to stock and plug it when it is time to do some wing shooting.
  18. Really? I'm also running 147gr Xtremes with 3.3 gr of HP38 and I cycle fine. Glock 34 gen 4 - standard springs. Chrono ave was 850 - need a touch more to make minor PF, but no cycle issues Well, I could tell you a story about rookie mistakes and a garage sale scale that didn't quite work right, but the situation is resolved. Haven't chrono'd it, but 3.5 grains is running like a champ. Lesson learned, check, double check and triple check everything...
  19. Are you guys running reduced power recoil springs? I'm up to 3.7 gr of hp-38 behind xtreme 147 gr bullets @ 1.15 oal out of my stock glock 34 and am yet to have a round cycle the slide. Got some 3.8, 3.9 and 4.0's loaded up to try this weekend. 3.7 felt hot enough to make pf, but was stove piping. EDIT: ran out to the range before work this morning, 4.0 grains is still not enough to get the stock G34 cycling. No signs of overpressure, but I'm not sure how much further I'm willing to go.
  20. take it to a gun shop and see what fits... I thought about that. I found out a buddy owns an old xd, will try his first and then probably take this route.
  21. Thank you. That is different than mine. Ill rack up some posts until I can post pics. This has to be for an xd.
  22. Thank you sir. Reason I ask is that I'm working off the assumption the OWB is for a XDm because it came with factory xdm mag pouches. But the mold looks like it could be an xd instead of an xdm... Not sure if they use the same mold for both or not.
  23. Thanks Sarge, that tracks with what I was thinking. Makes this one a 4.5. Could I trouble you for a shot of the side of the holster to see if the mold matches what I've got?
  24. Ha! I am trying to avoid becoming THAT guy! It's hard to find anything other than a generic stock photo of these holsters. If I could trouble you for a picture as well, I'd be very appreciative.. and would cut you a hell of a deal on a blade tech owb for a 4.5, if indeed that is what I have. Edit to add: I tried to add a pic of mine, but I do not have enough posts to post a picture apparently.
  25. If so, I have a favor to ask. I traded for a bunch of gear recently. One of the items is a bladetech OWB holster for an XDM. I'm just not sure whether it is for a 4.5 or a 5.25. If somebody has one and could provide me a measurement from the cutout at the barrel lug and the muzzle end of the holster, I'd be very appreciative. I think it's for the 4.5, but I'm not certain and have a house full of glocks with no way to figure it out myself. Thank you for your time. I'm getting a measurement of about 3.375" on the one I've got. I'd think the 5.25 would be closer to 4".
