  1. Thanks for the info! Just ordered two for the practice range.
  2. Oh $hit shells. If I have 9 in the gun on a 9 round array and I miss I like to instantly grab one from the old AP Customs Classic 4 after the miss to keep the gun loaded like it needs to be to finish the array and avoid a port load. Smart. I could've used that tip before last month's match....
  3. I've run 6 cases or so through my Vmax, no problems as long as I keep the gun lubed. Even use rio lo recoil buckshot with no problems.
  4. With your rate of twist you won't be able to stabilize a 69 or heavier. You might be able to shoot 62s. Get some and try them out.
  5. I did mine by myself, with the exception of a c-rums lifter. Seems to run just fine and just say NO to barrel bending.
  6. I'm using a blade tech wrs and the doh holster for both my 34 and 17. If the stage designs require a lot of movement, then the wrs gets the nod. Just loosen the retention, flip up the hood and run Forest, run...
  7. Not meaning to hijack the thread... but AustinWolv, did you notice that your camera man is in front of the firing line on your second stage when you transition to pistol? For the OP, hey at least you remembered to do the mag change! First time I shot that stage I got the to 6th target and remembered just in time to change it out but I still got hit with a procedural.
  8. In my first load development for my 18" JP lwc barrel I'm running 2850 fps with 69 smk's over 24 gr of 8208xbr, cci 400 primers, oal 2.250 to 2.255. I was able to push 2900 at 24.5 gr but was over gassed on the initial setup of the gun and so didn't fully test up to the max. But focus on what gets you the best group, not how fast it flies. At 300 yards its not in the air long enough for wind to be much of a factor.
  9. Good stuff! Now I have another opportunity to shoot a match when my wife takes me to Houston for some conference or to visit relatives! Is this match going to replace the west Houston shooters club match?
  10. The bottom of the shell latch is the only part that really catches on mine, and that's the part that was interfering with loading. So the only grinding I did was on the bottom lip of the latch to make it concentric with the follower. When you say bottom lip of the latch , are you referring to the side closer to the loading port ? Gonna have to south mine out just a tad more Yes, bottom of the latch when the gun is held in the upright position.

  12. I'm not sure... I went to Tulsa once and it seemed like a different planet.
  13. My loads rarely match, or come close to the published data. Sounds like the load runs good and clears the barrel, so if you wanted a hoser load it sounds like you found one!
  14. I am also curious about these carries. Trying to decide between the 2.8eight and their standard quad carriers. The 2.8eights look like the shells are very close together. Does this seem the case when loading? IOW does the second "quad" get in the way of grabbing the first quad with the 2.8eights? I've used mine for two live fire practice sessions now and have yet to knock a column of shells out of the holder when grabbing shells. I haven't tried the 2.8eights for quad loading, just weakhand load 2 but I think it'd be the same. For quads, I think I'd recommend the dedicated quad caddy though. I'm using it for strong hand quad loading and really like it.
  15. I use a diffuser for all clays, light modified for 99% of everything else, but keep a light full in the bag for special occasions such as plate racks at distance, or a spinner that's a little further than I like for LM
  16. Steve, where are you finding 4 to 6 three gun matches a month to shoot in north Texas? NTMG shoots two days a month. Does DPC run their 22 carbine matches every weekend?
  17. If you're proficient and accurate with your 2011, what would you expect to gain by going to a glock? I shoot a modified 34 and 17 for 3gun and love them since those are the guns I know. But there's a lot of real accurate 2011's in use at our matches as well. If you can shoot the 2011 well, I don't think you'd be happy with a glock, especially with the trigger. No amount of trigger work or aftermarket parts can match a good 2011 trigger.
  18. Where do you see that? Midway has them for retail at $2150 and I know that price can be beat.
  19. Thanks for the share! I'm in...
  20. Based on my experience, the Invictus caddies work better for me than the Taccom. I've used carbon arms, Taccoms, and ap customs load 2 and quad load caddies before and while they all work, there were things I didn't like about them. Either the attachment point allowed rotation, or the shells didn't align right when I set the caddy at the angle I like or the clips required you to take the shells out just so or they'd "vee" apart. When I saw the pics of the Invictus I realized that this wasn't just a copy of someone else's caddy. The design of the shell clips is simple, and yet simply genius in the way it works. I like the fact that the frame is aluminum, not plastic and that when I tighten the screws down, the caddy doesn't move. Granted, I've only had the Invictus caddies a week now and thus can't speak to their longevity. But from the way they're made I can't see them being any more fragile than any other design. And I'm willing to bet that if I was able to break one, Kevin would want to know about it and make it right.
  21. I have the 1-6.5x with btr2 in ffp. Shot my first match with it late January and we had required targets to 400 yards with bonus targets at 500,600, and 700. The 10" plate at 500 and std ipsc at 600 weren't a problem. If I'd known my dope for 700 I'd have nailed it too. So my opinion on the scope is very high.
