  1. Hell, I'd be happy with that. I'm not shooting groups with mine, just gotta hit that plate. Once. Mine shoots a good 4" right at 50 yards. I haven't adjusted mine for poi=poa yet. I just point it a little left and shoot.
  2. oh hell! you're supposed to give up something in order to support this? I just started this past January and was warned by the MD before I started the first stage that this would be an addiction. No one seems to want to do this just a little...
  3. Once you get the shell latch right it's amazing!
  4. Here's the photo of the 303 Arms worked gun. Note how the bottom "lip" on the shell latch matches the radius of the follower.
  5. I can post one later. I had the chance to side by side compare my gun to one worked by 303 Arms and saw where the latch on the 303 gun was radiused to match the radius on the follower. The 303 gun was a lot easier to load than mine. I took my shell latch and slowly ground it to more closely match the radius of the follower without changing the angle on the trailing edge. Once I got it right, the shells no longer require that extra force to get past the latch.
  6. Because of the recall I bought a glock 30 last week that I was looking at before I bought the xds. After a couple hours work with the 30 I am as fast on the draw and first shot, but my second and third shots are faster and more accurate. If I ever get a response from SA and they send me the return authorization, I'll send it in. And when it comes back, it'll be for sale.
  7. Two Qualoads on one of Tim's backers, backer screwed to TMMS inner. I have three (3x8 = 24 rounds) set up that way that I have been using all year. CJW - can you post a pic of this?

  9. That's pretty cool. Might have to look into it if they do that next year. I don't have a cool shirt yet, either, so this thread got me interested. I know the guy that runs it. They will be doing it again next year and will be giving away more guns too. I hear that guy is pretty cool - nice hair too
  10. Now there's a term you don't see / hear everyday!
  11. Two Qualoads on one of Tim's backers, backer screwed to TMMS inner. I have three (3x8 = 24 rounds) set up that way that I have been using all year. I had mine on a tmms but had to modify the receiver plate.
  12. just for grins I weighed the items. a tek-lok weighs 1-1/2 oz. tek-lok + a small tmms weighs 3-3/8 oz. no hardware on either. so you're talking roughly 2 oz. if you had 8 tmms attached you'd add one pound to your belt. But you're probably only going to have 4, maybe 5 of these on your belt because some AR mag holders, pistol mag holders and caddies aren't very compatible with the tmms. Case in point, I can't find a good way to mount my taccom qual-load using the tmms so they are on a tek-lok. negligible amount of weight for the convenience of being able to switch out caddies. I like the hell outa mine.
  13. not for me either. looked like the tube would catch the ground or obstructions too easily.
  14. For what it's worth, I'm new to the game too but have learned how to load traditional weakhand, load-2 weakhand and stronghand, and am almost able to quadload stronghand in competition. I am more proficient at stronghand loading now but like you, see the advantage of the other methods for certain conditions. So each practice session, I do at least three loads from my "secondary methods". But going 1 for 1 on the targets sure seems to help me more now than being faster at loading.
  15. makes sense to me. And James Darby is my motivation to load faster
  16. My smith started out very conservatively, then after I saw what was done to a friend's gun by 303Arms, I took the dremel and 800 grit paper to mine and opened it up / smoothed out a bit more. I did the most opening on the corner opposite the shell latch and also trimmed the bottom lip of the shell latch to be concentric with the radius of the follower. The work on the shell latch seemed to make the most difference. And the forearm got trimmed as well.
  17. here's a new one that is the third Sat of the month http://northtexasmultigun.com/The_Steel_Match.html

    MOA ?

IMHO - the larger the dot, the more target it covers up on long distance targets.
  19. 5 shots max at a target - if I can't get it then it's not worth shooting
  20. Welcome!! Where do you live in Texas? I think it's funny that you capitalized Texas but not Colorado Howdy! From Ft Worth
  21. Normally I won't switch loads and would have used the better rounds for the hosers, but with never having shot prone using a pallet for support I wanted the 20 rounder, just in case.
  22. NTMG 3gun match in Waxahachie, Tx. First stage for our squad was the long range rifle: start out with 9 paper hosers, 4 on left, 5 on right, then run 10 yards to a mat where you could shoot prone off a single pallet or two stacked. Targets were at 225, 320, 425, and 530 yds. I love long range stuff so I volunteer to go first: had cheap 55gr rounds in the first magazine for the hosers, then a 20rd with my 62gr loads for the long range. Blew through the hosers, start running to the mat, dropped first mag, insert 20rd'er, get in position and damn if I cannot hit that 225 yd'er Finally got it on the 4th or 5th shot, then cleaned up the rest of them with less than 3 shots each. Posted a pretty good time, ended up with 67% score but I couldn't figure out why I had hell getting the first hit. As I was helping reset the stage later, I observed the next shooter checking his scope, switching from low to high power. It suddenly occurred to me that I didn't ever switch from 1x after the hosers, thereby throwing the hold points on my reticle completely out the window. I got my rifle out of the bag and sure enough, the scope lever was on 1x. DOH!
