We see it as a FEATURE and not a fault...Smiths, Glocks,Sigs all have brass hitting the glass, have not tried a Springfield.
It seems that if the optic is behind the ejection port it is going to get hit.

Both sets of screens should have different velocities as they are not at the same distance from the barrel.
What is interesting to me is when the farthest set of screens has the highest velocities.

I have a Fastfire 111 on a Baer .45 Bullyeye gun, it has been hit many times with the witness marks on the Optics.
When in doubt try video Or just watch other shooters.

Glock is very aware of this issue!!
They have had my Glock 40 MOS since Dec. 2016 for this issue and say a fix may be 6 months to one year away. Same issue with other model 40's they had to test. I was told it is not ammo related (power factor).
I believe the real issue here is when the Optic companies start to refuse warranty claims because of this issue.
Video some Glock GEN 4 guns with stock sights and watch the brass bounce off the rear sight
This also seems to now be a problem with Sigs and M&P.

Looking for a picture of the X5 with the optic installed. Hoping that because the plate is bigger they mount the optic all the way to the rear of the slide.
I know of three Glocks MOS and one M&P core that the optics have been replaced under warranty because of broken glass

Any pictures of the X5 with opitc attached. Hope they mount it all the way to the rear to help with the brass not hitting the glass like it does on Glocks and M&P.

The real point is in this game like my real job working on race cars, the issue is cure the sympton do not fix the problem. Which many times leads to other problems.
Best line I have heard is how is your day going..." shooting alligators instead of draining the swamp" That makes me smile.
