I think they are out of the country on Vacation. They normally go around this time of year for a month or so.

What match was this, because that is a punk move on the RO or MD. Way to encourage a shooter to come back.
-
DQ or Not? Pushing window open with gun.
Nghthwk1911 replied to bjcollado's topic in USPSA/IPSC Rules
That RO needs to be re-trained. No such rule exists. -
What??? my texts were not good enough for you... I am hurt.
-
You are so wrong on this, the RO is several feet back from the Start position, the shooter would need to have the gun pointed "up range" to get the muzzle on him at all.

Am I the only one here done with The Walking Dead?
Nghthwk1911 replied to lfine's topic in Books, Movies, TV & Music
it died for me at the end of season 2. Never went back. -
Thank you. A lot of hard work went into this and all matches.

Hahaha, Oh the Troll is strong with this one... You see we (The Match Staff) found an issue with the power and rather then being unfair to some shooters, we pulled the firing of rounds over the chrono, and allowed the rules to work in the shooters favor, but that is not what you want to hear now is it. You want there is be some big issue that we are not willing to talk about, but like at the match and now here on Enos the truth is easy to tell. You may want to open a rule book and read Appendix C2, 21.

Really? Let's see here we had two Gauges because one was not enough and wanted to ensure we did not have a Faulty gauge, but I guess that is not good enough and you felt the need to slander the match, thanks Neil. Sorry we won't see you next year.
-
We had two gauges. We wanted to avoid any issues with "its that Gauge", No it was both of them...
-
I don't think that is accurate at all, there were many types of mags that failed, and basepad combos. So I would say to single out a specific maker of mags is not fair or accurate at all.
-
I have a Dawson tuning kit, files, and gauge if you want adjust them?

Did you shoot it today at ESPS? Right handed shooters, go right side of barricade, start on far left Mini, and work to the right.

NROI Range Officer Cert... Are you supposed to study?
Nghthwk1911 replied to taymag's topic in Miscellaneous BEginners
Are you sure your home range will accept the NROI cert, most want/Need you to be NRA RO/CRO cert. -
YES!, this is exactly what they should have done, I had to do just that at the 2015 Nats in Utah when I dropped a needed mag at the start and the RO followed me to the end and when I yelled I was going back she stood there, and I ran right past her with the pistol pointed down range and away from her.... the Scoring RO had to yell Stop because she was vapor locked. Needless to say I got a reshoot. RO's need to be very aware and are just like refs, just part of the playing surface.
-
I don't have one, I just use an empty mag, shove it in pull the charging handle and the bolt locks back....
-
You can lock the bolt back on Make ready.

Get a $35 BAD Lever from Magpul and Poof issue fixed.
-
Call Safariland and they will send you some, most likely free of charge.

STI DVC open 9mm major Load Recommendations
Nghthwk1911 replied to LeoTheLion's topic in 9mm/38 Caliber
Leo, CFE (at 6.8gr) with 124gr Bayou works well (170pf), the biggest issue with coated projectiles is the powder "burns" the coating causing the glass to get all funked up. Above is with a Limcat with ported barrel. I also use CFE (7.2-7.4 gr) with 124gr Berry's HBFP Heavy plated projectiles, And both of these are 1.150OAL- 21 replies

Use a penetrating oil to brake up the carbon, dental tools to pick and scrap out the crud, then use a lanolin based oil to coat the chambers. I like Fluid Film it is nice and viscous and really penetrates into the comp for good protection for a long time. I "Clean" my comps once a year, and they require very little cleaning each time. http://www.fluid-film.com/

Repainting of the edge of the plate would require more diligence on the part of the RO's.

Why? Now I am just curious, the MBX mag Body is made to same Specs as the STI body, and the feed lips are already tuned and the spring and follower are engineered to preform more consistently... So ? This is just for info only.

Look at MBX, all ready to go out of the box.
