  1. Jake, Other then not shooting a club, what other official recourse do shooters have for a club that will not send in scores, or pay for the activities? Understand that we don't want to "loose" a club, but if they are not sending in scores, and shooters stop coming it is the same thing as USPSA just killing the affiliations.
  2. Here is the link to the 2015 A8 match info and Match hotel. http://www.uspsa8.org/?page_id=149
  3. I tried HS6 with 124gr Bayou, the result was a very dirty optic after 3 rounds, so dirty in fact that I could not see the target through the glass.
  4. +1 +1 +1 the best >$20 you can ever spend on reloading!!!
  5. The KKM barrel twist rate is not optimum for 147gr, it is designed for 124-125gr jacketed projectiles, give them a call and they can give you the details on the twist rate they use and the suggested projectile weight got the best accuracy.
  6. Pistol used; STI TruBore Barrel Length; 5in Comp used ; STI TruBore Poppel Holes; N Powder Throw; 7gr CFE Pistol Projectile Weight ; 124 Projectile Profile; HBFP Jacketed or Plated or coated; Heavy Plate Berrys OAL; 1.160 Chrono Data; Average of 5 rounds 1335 FPS, making 165.5 PF. Felt good in the pistol, going to knock it up to 7.2 and 7.4 and retest. Also thinking I will shorten the OAL to 1.150 to build a little more pressure.
  7. ^ thank you very much that is a great thread. I guess I should search for 9mm major.
  8. So I have read this article, and I find it lacking in detail, and writer was not using a open pistol, while I found it as a good source for base line info it does not provide key info for the loading of 9mm major for actual open pistols.
  9. OK I am looking for Real world experience with Hodgdon CFE Pistol for use with 9mm Major loads for Open Pistols. I am looking for actual Data in the following fields. Pistol used Barrel Length Comp used Poppel Holes Y/N Powder Throw Projectile Weight Projectile Profile Jacketed or Plated or coated OAL Chrono Data I am Starting to work on this myself and will build my own data set but this this where I plan on starting. Pistol used; STI TruBore Barrel Length; 5in Comp used ; STI TruBore Poppel Holes; N Powder Throw; Starting point based on Attached data from Hodgdon's web page. 6gn to 7.2gn Projectile Weight ; 124 Projectile Profile; HBFP Jacketed or Plated or coated; Heavy Plate Berrys OAL; 1.150-1.160 Chrono Data; So thinking that the test data used by Hodgdon is a 4in non-comped pistol I think Starting at 6gn I should be someplace in the 1370-1400 FPS with the intent to get and keep the FPS around 1450. And then again to repeat when I get my New Limcat Razorcat.
  10. HeXeD, What pistol are you shooting this with? what Barrel, Comp, Poppel holes?
  11. I have talked to Dan, he will be on later to respond, he is at work.
  12. I am taking it that you could see the face of the target from one of the ports., so in this case rule 1.1.5 kicks in, this is a free style sport, if they did not want it shot from there hide it better.
  13. ROFL, Oh really that is a good one.... You said Denied.... Reread the thread.
  14. I don't even know what to say to that. Where did you get that I said go pound sand? Weather happens, we play in a rain or shine sport, sometimes it rains, sometimes not. How can a MD or anyone running a match plan for refunds under this type of situation. Plan on giving a discount for the next match, come on Really??? who was "affected" by the rain (insert weather condition) for next match. What is silly is anyone shooting this sport even for a nano-second thinking that asking for a refund for a match that had a stoppage for safety concerns is even a valid request. Don't what to shoot in the outdoor weather, shoot inside.
  15. This is like calling Shooter Connection after the match is complete and asking for a refund because the targets have holes. You Show up, you shoot, and you work through it, if it rains it rains. If you don't cancel before the cut of you don't get a refund. I am not even sure why this is a question at this point. Any sort of bending on this would lead down a slippery slop, like I had a bad day, I want a refund, it was too hot, I want a refund... Not trying to be a hard ass on this, but really? Asking for a refund from a match that you came and shot after the fact, no matter the fact of your ability to finish the match or not. We had shooters just leave and never present to Chrono, and will not be scored, or just leave after a few stages for some reason (no idea why was never told they left), Can they ask for a refund, NO. It is not like we walked up to them and told them to stop shooting just because, or did not offer them the ability to come back the next day to finish because of the weather.
  16. rbebeau, good question, under rule 2.3.5, if the weather conditions call for stop, and it is the last day and no other opportunities for continued shooting where available it would be a real pickle. I have run into this at a local match, and we got DNF's for all the shooters on the squads that had not finished, just the way it is. I have not been exposed to this at the Nationals level or even the Area/Section level matches. I would guess that at some point in the past this has happened and would look to the RM/RMI core to point this out. Nik points out a section match that he a JJ were not able to finish for weather reasons, so it has happened. As for building time into the schedule I think as MD's or RM's there is a little play, I know I left about 30min to an hour based on on-time shooting of the squads moving through the stages for each day. Last squad should have finished at 6:30 pm on Sat for this match, and we where on time. I called a stop at 6:10, and shooting for the day at 7pm. with out cloud cover, sunset was not until 7:58 that day.
  17. All of my M&P's have been worked on by Dan, I would have it no other way at this point. it is as close to a 1911 trigger "feel" as you will ever get out of a striker fired pistol.
  18. Parallax3d, I see that you are a CRO, so you are telling me you would have been happy to be on the stage that had a 60 foot tree fall on it, or the 10 inches of water, just so a few shooters could finish a match. Lucky for my Staff and the shooters at the match you where not in charge, because someone might have been hurt. You can have all the opinions you want, but you where not there and did not have 100 peoples safety to think about. So stop telling me that I was wrong or made a bad call. All the shooters where given the chance to finish, this was a three day match and just because they signed up for one of the three days NEVER guarantees them to finish in that one day, we play outdoors and sometimes the weather does not allow that to happen. So rather then throw the whole match out as you are suggesting, 10 or so shooters got a DNF and life goes on.
  19. John, it was two full squads and 2-3 from two other squads, so about 20-24 shooters, and 13 of them came back to finish the match, so all in told about 10 shooters did not finish across 4 stages. I made the right call, if some don't like it, well I cant fix that, Mother Nature does not answer to me, nor do peoples travel plans. I offered, and that was all I could do. By 8am the next day the range was ready to shoot after we put down some stone dust, and moved the 60 foot tree off of one of the stages.
  20. I am the RM in this case, and I held out on stopping the shooting as long as I could, Hell I held out on Bagging the targets as long as I could to have all the shooters have the "same:" target presentations as I could, it was a good rain and I knew that there where many squads with a few shooters left to clear the last COF. But when high winds and heavy lightning came in I had to stop the shooting for EVERYONES safety. I asked all the shooters to stay until I could make the final call, if there was any chance on getting everyone through I was going to wait it out, but sadly that was not the case, and I offered to everyone the chance to come back and finish the match. As Bill (the MD) pointed out many did just that. I even held out hope that some the shooters from as far way as NC would comeback and finish. At Single Stack Nationals this year on Friday we have an hour and half rain delay and some shooters were worried that we would not finish before dark, lucky for us that was not the case and all finished. As an RM that is the hardest call to make, I now know because I had to make it, and some of the top shooters in the match did not get finish, shooters that could have and may have won their divisions.
  21. Oh Don't get me wrong the match was fun, Wet, very WET on Friday. But I think many of us see more "complicated" or technical stages at level 2 and 3 matches, and some at local matches. But than again we are not shooting 14+chrono on local matches, and trying to push 440 shooters in a weekend. At the Level 2-3 you can get some more challenging stages in with a "faster" reset that works into the match flow, and at Local you can really push it because you only have 50-90 shooters to worry about on 5-7 stages. I think many of us are expecting Nats to be panicle of the shooting challenge when in fact it is not always the case.
  22. My First time also at Single Stack, and I could not agree more. this was a how fast can the super squads burn these stages down match,
  23. I spent a bit of time looking for the finer front blade, short of having something custom made you will most likely not find anything in stock smaller then .090, especially if you want a fiber in it. But if you do find it, please post as I am sure others would like to know (read me) where you found it.
  24. I know that I and others have suggested setting up an official mentor program, and if you want to be an RO you get a sponsor. Sponsor can be designated by Clubs, Sections Coordinators or Area directors. This at least puts some vetting on the Mentors. Prospective RO's work for a time with the Mentor, then take the class, this will also allow the instructor to move the class along, assuming that the Mentor was providing actual guidance and experience to the prospective RO along the way. But I am not sure that really got legs, as that is just to much work, and well stuff and junk.
