    GM/M

C'mon, everyone knows you can't make M class without more than 22 posts on Enos.
  2. If it was Winchester white box you can't blame the gun.
  3. Ruger gets a lot of stuff -almost- right. They did better when old man Ruger was still in charge.
  4. I dunno, but I think the hole spacing is there same. HKS lists the same 44 mag speedloader for the model 29 and all of the RedHawks.
  5. I do not care for the MGM clamshell. I had a brand new one fail at a match. The spring temper was incorrect and the springs lost all tension before the second squad was done. I now stick to props that operate with nothing but gravity. I find the legs on the MGM swinger a little janky, though I'm sure it keeps shipping costs down. I buy my props from a local shooter who is also a welder.
  6. This is the USPSA rules section of the forum. The second part of your question would best be discussed somewhere else.
  7. The barrel is stamped "9mm." In the US that's how we refer to 9x19. I guess it would depend on your local laws.
  8. As long as you're cool with me leaning over your shoulder for the whole stage to keep the timer next to the ejection port.
  9. My Race Master binds if I twist it at all during the draw. It's better if you clean/lubricate it with Armor All. Armor All is a water based silicone product, so it works well for this. That said, coming back to my revolver after a year with a production gun I'm considering going back to Kydex. The Race Master is not helping my draw time or consistency. I can grab the gun much more aggressively in Kydex.
  10. Dawson front sights give a better sight picture. The fiber is recessed. https://dawsonprecision.com/s-w-pinned-fiber-optic-front-sights/ I have given up on aftermarket rear sights for my Smiths. I liked the rear sight blade that comes with the 929s, but I make due with a .160 high rear blade.
  11. My understanding is the new HHF is the average of the top 10 scores ever shot. If there was an outlier, like a B class dude 10% higher than the top GM's, they threw that one out. The high hit factor is supposed to be what the top shooters are capable of, this increases over time. Baseball standards and some of the ones hard ones came down, it'll be nice not shooting the same 10 "easy" classifiers at every monthly match.
  12. It is for me. I always hand a new revo shooter an empty gun and loose ammo. What ever hand they put it in with is the one I encourage them to load with. I went the better part of my first year with 10 moon clips. I don't use a BMT, I like to feel if I have a loose 38 case. I use one of the tubular tools to remove the brass, you can buy one or make one from a golf club shaft.
  13. The reload is the big one. Which hand do you use to put the moon clip in with? I'm a right handed shooter, and I reload with my strong hand. I do have to be more aware of my muzzle direction during my reloads than I do when running my bottom feeders. Stage breakdown with an 8 shot isn't too different than it is with a production gun, you just have fewer makeup shots. Your steel shooting will likely improve, the front sight gets pretty big with only 8 in the gun.
  14. Did he use it at the make ready command? That's specifically permitted. 5.2.4 During the course of fire, after the start signal, unless stipulated otherwise in the stage procedure, spare ammunition, magazines and/or speed loading devices shall be carried in retention devices attached to the competitor's belt and specifically designed for that purpose. Unless specifically prohibited in the Written Stage Briefing, a competitor may also carry additional magazines or speed loading devices in apparel pocket(s) and retrieve and use them, providing that the location of the apparel pocket does not violate the requirements of Appendix D, Item 12 (subject to the provisions of Rule 6.2.5.1). Should the division restrict the location of the magazines or speed loading devices, carrying them in apparel pocket(s) forward of the restriction point will be allowed providing they are not removed from the apparel pocket(s) between the “standby” command and the command “ if clear, hammer down and holster”. (e.g. – a magazine may be retrieved from a front pocket to facilitate loading before the start signal or while unloading at the end of a COF without penalty). When stipulations in the WSB require placement of magazines or speed loaders on a table or similar location and not in the retention devices prior to the start signal, retrieving them and using them from the hand is allowed. Further, spare ammunition, magazines and/or speed loading devices carried in the hand after the start signal are not subject to the equipment position restrictions of Appendix D, Item 12, as long as they remain in the hand.
  15. Mine are all fine. They're in the the bottom of my parts bin.
  16. I do like an over travel stop. Fit properly you will notice a reduction in the total trigger movement as you stroke the trigger. I install a roll pin in the back of the trigger like the performance center guns. I do not like the pins inside the rebound housing, they can bend the pin that supports the rebound spring.
  17. That's an exception for Level 1 matches, I generally don't use those when setting up a course. The exceptions are for new clubs that don't have enough props. If you must do it, it's a 1 per shot penalty. Don't fire any extra make up shots. 2.1.8.5 Appearing scoring targets must be designed and constructed to be obscured to the competitor (during the course of fire) prior to activation. 2.1.8.5.1Level One matches are encouraged but not required to comply with this requirement. The Written Stage Briefing (WSB) may prohibit competitors from engaging certain targets which may be visible prior to activation until the operation of the activating mechanism has been initiated (see Rule 9.9.4) 9.9.4 Level I matches only - If the written stage briefing prohibits the engagement of certain targets prior to activation, the competitor will incur one procedural penalty per shot fired at such targets prior to operating the activating mechanism, up to the maximum number of available hits (see Rule 2.1.8.5.1).
  18. I never said I'd call it differently on one type of stage over another. Someone said it's "the same for everyone." I was pointing out that in classifiers, it's not. 4.6.1 Range equipment must present the challenge fairly and equitably to all competitors. Range equipment failure includes ...the failure of props such as openings, ports, and barriers. The chair is a stage prop. It is not intended to hang off the belt when the competitor stands up, therefore it's a range equipment failure. At Nationals doesn't Troy instruct the ROs "Don't be a dick"?
  19. If I'm the RO, it's a reshoot. That's how it was called when it happened to me on a short course. On a field stage it's a safety concern. On a classifier it's also an equity concern. Are all the chairs used at all the clubs the same? In a classifier it's definitely not the same for everyone, but a minimum level of competitive equity should be the goal.
  20. 10.2.2 "A competitor who fails to comply with a procedure specified in the written stage briefing will incur one procedural penalty for each occurrence. However, if a competitor has gained a significant advantage during non-compliance, the competitor may be assessed one procedural penalty for each shot fired, instead of a single penalty (e.g. firing multiple shots contrary to the required position or stance)." If there were two shots on the last target, two procedurals. There were no requirements for the other targets were there?
  21. I was always told to shoot head, hands, feet.
  22. I was told they left de-cockers off the list on purpose so no one could convert a de-cocker CZ to a thumb safety model. It kinda f@cks those of us who shoot other platforms. I swapped the de-cocker on my SIG P226 to the smaller model from the Legion series. That was legal last weekend. Today I need to scare up an original one to put back on both my pistols.
