  1. Oh, they'll probably change the rules next month anyway.
  2. I have a Double Alpha Racemaster, I'm going back to Kydex as I think it's faster. The Race Master binds if you twist the grip during the draw. You can get used to it, but you can be much more aggressive drawing from Kydex. https://www.speedbeez.com/product-category/holsters/competition-revoler-supply-speed-rigs/competition-revoler-supply-speed-rigs-speed-holsters/
  3. Works fine on Android.
  4. I don't see the need for hardcover or a no shoot. I don't have a problem with a shot scoring on two targets. The difficulty with scoring a single shot on two targets comes when the scoring zones are imperfectly lined up between the two targets. For example, if you put a put the head of a front target over the lower A zone of another target, the A zone of the rear target shouldn't be available when a shot touches the perf on the left or right side of the front target. But what if the perfs don't _exactly_ line up? What if they did, but something moved during the match? Is the A zone on the rear target available or not? All of this can be avoided if you move the front target a half inch to one side so none of the perfs lie over each other. This eliminates the need for a piece of black tape acting as hard cover.
  5. You posted in the USPSA rules forum of Benos. If it's an outlaw match, the ruling is whatever they say it is. The rule book is there to protect the shooter.
  6. Keep on mind, the primer and case set back upon firing making the firing pin strike look larger. Your actual firing pin strike is what you see in the light strikes.
  7. That would be best so I can score you as shot when your PCC craps the bed mid-stage, but I don't know to many shooters who would argue about a reshoot in that case.
  8. A good RO gets the timer out in front of them as the stage is wrapping up so they can see it change in their peripheral vision. There is no requirement to pick up every shot. As noted above there are reasons the RO may not be close to the shooter for the whole stage. PCCs are sometimes very difficult to pick up unless you're crowding the shooter. Some of us are better at ROing than others. Like it or not, there is a human element in refereeing this game. Other sports are no different. You ever argue balls and strikes?
  9. Aim small. Use a black paster or small piece of black tape. Shoot some groups weak hand only. It will teach you a lot about trigger control. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  10. This allows for a bump to open if you're more than 2"from the inner belt in revolver/production/single stack/welfare optics doesn't it? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  11. I can't imagine it's any advantage whatsoever, but it would be completely legal to buy a stainless steel gun and paint just the exterior. Just leave the interior unpainted.
  12. Dremel tools have created a lot of repair work for gunsmiths over the years, me included. If you're chamfering your own cylinder, remember that the chamfer only needs to be deep enough to clear the edge of the taper crimp on your case. More doesn't add anything to the reload. You just want to keep the edge of the case from hanging up, the round nose bullet does the rest. I didn't have to touch the cylinder on my 627PC, it was fine from the factory. My 625 needed just a little bit of love.
  13. To be fair, I do hold it in a milling machine.
  14. That Pacific Tool cutter is intended to cut chamfers for lathe centers on rifle barrels. I use a half inch diameter counter sink. No pilot. https://www.mscdirect.com/browse/tn/?searchAheadTerm=Counter&searchAhead=true&hdrsrh=true&typahddsp=Countersinks&navid=12106118
  15. An inch at a hundred with an iron sighted rifle isn't impossible if you use the right target. When my AR was built up as a national match service rifle, I could hold an inch and a quarter off a bench with a sling.
  16. Will a layer of grip tape fit in your holster?
  17. But the question is which one? There is a possibility that the hole in the moving no shoot could plausibly line up with multiple holes. A swinging no shoot is a poor target presentation for this reason.
  18. I don't shoot steel challenge, you'd have to look at the rules. But in USPSA, there are allowances to sweeping and the 180 rule during the draw. 10.5 Match Disqualification – Unsafe Gun Handling Examples of unsafe gun handling include, but are not limited to: 10.5.5 Allowing the muzzle of a handgun to point at any part of the competitor’s body during a course of fire (i.e. sweeping). 10.5.5.1 Exception – A match disqualification is not applicable for sweeping of the lower extremities (below the belt) while drawing or re-holstering of the handgun, provided that the competitor’s fingers are clearly outside of the trigger guard. This exception is only for holstered handguns. Sweeping does not apply to a handgun holstered in compliance with Rules 5.2.1 and 5.2.7 10.5.6 While facing downrange, allowing the muzzle of a loaded handgun to point uprange beyond a radius of 3 feet from a competitor’s feet while drawing or re-holstering.
  19. I know. For no good reason either.
  20. I appendix carry a J-frame with a dot. I had it milled into the top strap so I could co-witness with the factory sights.
  21. See what you need to see, really move when you need to move.
  22. For me it's the location of the match that will keep me from attending, not the format. I can shoot several level 2s closer to me for the time and cost required to fly to Florida.
  23. The pencil barrels kinda have a weird Colt thing going on.
  24. I'ma gunsmith at an indoor range. I see more function problems with Winchester white box than all other brands of 9mm put together. This is primarily in bottom feeders, as my 929 customers hand load. We don't sell white box, it's not actually very common at the range, but almost all gun failures that require gunsmith assistance to clear are Winchester white box. Yesterday the case was too long for the chamber, I've seen that one quite a bit.
