  1. If you want one so bad, buy one and shoot it local. At the very least you could still shoot it under the new non comp' division.
  2. I think this should answer your question about the glock slide. Rule 8.2.3.3.2. Removal of material from the exterior of the slide other than front cocking serrations, tri-top, engraving, carry melts, and high power cuts. This was posted in the quarterly updates. You may have already received the email.
  3. It's hard to not want to get a 1911 then hotrod it out. If you're not wanting to spend north of 1k, maybe give thought to one of the polymers. An M&P or XDm would permit you to classify CDP, ESP and SSP all in one shot. With a plastic fantastic, you could down load to 125pf and shoot ssp/esp if you'd like.
  4. Is it wrong that the only reason I even do laundry is to save the dryer sheets to toss in the vibratory tumbler? No dust and been using the same media for over a year with the same results as when I started.
  5. Leave it as is. Buy more mags and start reloading if you don't yet. After you've shot it enough to know what you'd like, then replace parts as you see fit.
  6. Just received my 2 sample packs. When I wrote them inquiring about my order, I got a quick reply (considering it was the weekend) that they are still behind in the shipping department.
  7. Question: why the small rifle primers?
  8. I'm beginning to doubt the website is up to date. It shouldn't take 2 weeks to send out 2 sample packs that are supposedly instock.
  9. Last I checked, 9mm 124gr JHP & RN and 115gr RN. Don't know about other calibers as I wasn't looking for anything else. I placed my order last Tuesday and received 2 confirmation emails, but nothing has been charged to my account.
  10. Well... you don't have to refinish SS if you want to do any work to it.
  11. I ordered 2 sample packs last Tuesday. I wonder what the wait is on in stock items.
  12. Since the 9mm is a tapered case, the crimp isn't what hold the bullet, it's the neck tension. See that you're not flaring the case excessively. Too much may be removing the neck tension you need to keep things tight.
  13. I just finished up my 1k of RMR 124gr RN. No complaints here. May be mistaken, but I believe the RMR bullets are repackaged Extreme bullets.
  14. Damn that looks sweet! Would be ideal for my indoor range practice sessions.
  15. I've been using one of their mini red dots on my AR for about 2 years now. Zero issues. I recommend them. If you wait till their Black Friday sale, you can probably get a deal on one of their red dots.
  16. You will need a new top end, but there's no need to cut the frame. The STI spartan run with an unramped barrel. So it can be done. Oh, and as posted earlier, a new ejector and mags.
  17. PD still have that 16week wait? Few extra dollars may be worth the instant gratification.
  18. Correct. You can initiate a reload on the move while in the open and headed to cover, but you may not engage the next target until you are behind cover. The whole pivot foot thing still grinds my gears. There definitely needs to be more clarification or a more uniform ruling from SOs.
  19. I need to re-examine this rule. If I even shuffle a foot while reloading I get the finger. Edit: 3.9.4. Advancing or moving while reloading behind cover is defined as either lifting a foot off the ground or sliding a foot along the ground. The shooter may pivot on one foot or move the torso, as long as the pivot foot does not lift or slide. Ok, how am I suppose to pivot and not slide a foot or lift it off the ground? Can someone paint me a picture where this happens and you don't get the finger?
  20. How so? The RMR LED can be gotten in 6.5 MOA and the dual up to 13MOA.
  21. Depending on how hot it is, it makes a world of difference. Had a few matches this year, level 1 of course, where concealment was optional because of the heat. I picked up a used 5.11 vest I found on craigslist. Was worn maybe 3 times. I like that the base feels loaded and it helps to get a clean sweep away from the gun when drawing and holstering. Take a look at Armadillo Concealment. Purpose build for IDPA. Lot of the shooters in my area are sporting these.
  22. I think I was in the same boat. Started with an STI Guardian. Shot twice in 3 months. Then went out and got a custom built 2011. Still recovering from that expense.
  23. I can shoot 200-300 rounds and only need an oiled patch to clean my barrel. If you're getting leading, there's something wrong.
  24. I'll skip on the Oakleys. Took a look at their website. Clicked the tab for sports and didn't see shooting listed. I'll stick with a brand that supports our sport. Before choosing your frame, were any of you able to try a variety of styles? There happens to be a distributor within driving distance and I was considering stopping in. Don't know what kind of selection they would have, but something is better than nothing, right? With so many choices it's hard to tell if something that looks good will also fit good.
