  1. Bit of a thread drift... Do IDPA members frequently troll in the USPSA forums? I've only posted a handful of post there, but I didn't notice any animosity towards the sport from IDPA member.
  2. Agreed. If you aren't practicing the fundamentals and relying on just speed to improve your standings, you're going to feel the hurt.
  3. Have you compared them to PD's 124gr? MG seems to be the most costly but PD seems to be equally cost effective.
  4. That's more than enough cushion. You'll be fine.
  5. A LGS in the DFW area also had it not long ago but at the prices they wanted, I passed. They were asking 50% more than pre panic prices. At those prices, I was better off buying N320.
  6. I've abandoned my search for Clays. It's been so long that I've just moved on to Clay Dot. Just received 16# last week from PV.
  7. Also, be sure to load your mags to capacity and let them sit for a few nights.
  8. I think the one you linked are the ones I'm actually using, but in black. The ridges on the side match what I'm running. I may be mistaken, but the EZ have the hole in them for the retainer to pop into just like the stock base pads. Edit: FYI, Looks like DP has a new website up and running and is offering free shipping if you go through the new site.
  9. These: http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=80000054-1388517800 or http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=80000053-1388517799
  10. After having 2 mags volcano on me using the stock base pads, I went with Dawson.
  11. What's this dust issue people complain about with dry tumbling? Doesn't the lid on your vibratory tumbler prevent any dust from making its way onto everything? I too use the dryer sheets in my tumblers to help collect dirt and prolong the life of my media. I also use the same 2 tumbler method that 9x45 described above. If you like unnecessarily shiny brass, it beats the heck out of a single vibratory.
  12. Congrats! 126mm mags. I prefer the STI Tac magwell. I'm sure there are others that will also work. And I also prefer the International basepads (wedges) from Dawson. And yes, you could trim down your Edge, mill a light rail and install a bushing barrel. Pricey project, but I'm not exactly the voice of reason, so don't forget the aftermarket aluminum grip too!
  13. If they came to win then they're gaming.
  14. Bayou 147gr over 2.8gr of Clay Dot. Those are bunny fart soft. Not sure how it translates to plastic fantastics, but I run a 9# ISMI recoil spring in my 2011 with those.
  15. This is still a pipe dream and already people are all up in arms about it. Let's see how this plays out before some of us decide to jump ship.
  16. I've only seen it once or twice in the 3 years I've been shooting... But I've seen a shooter be fast enough to win even though they were probably the most points down as well. Again, very rare circumstance.
  17. Make sure you have the right feed tube in place. I was getting flipped primers and occasional jams a while back while loading 9mm. Then upon inspection I found that I never replaced the large primer tube from loading .45. The extra play was causing feeding issues. Only took me 3 months to figure it out. Doh!

Thanks for the helpful tips all.
  19. Had the same issue happen to me this morning. I called up Dillon and was a happy camper in less than 2 minutes. Thanks Dillon.

Thanks for the tip Bob. Still providing customer service 4 years after I bought this gun from you.
  21. No, not the candy bar. I was sitting at my work bench cleaning my gun in preparation for sending out the slide to have some work done. While wiping it down with a light coating of oil, it slips out I my hand and falls to the concrete floor. I notice an itty bitty mark on the top of the front sight and muzzle of the slide. No biggie. As I reassemble the gun, that's when the full scale of my boneheadedness (new word I just made up) comes to light. It would appear that the rail on the back of the slide was also dinged. Enough to move metal and not allow my slide to go back on! *facepalm*
  22. Yeah, don't ask questions for answers you don't want.
  23. I have a 3-4yr old Primary arms red dot. The multi gun stages I've shot have for the most part been very short range with just a few shots over 100yds.
  24. I see it purely as a game for entertainment. Gun time is fun time. I just got my neighbor behind me started. He's currently using his carry XDs and loving it. I can see his competitive nature already rearing its head though. He's already eyeballing getting an M&P pro for SSP.
