I forgot how much of a car nut I was until I started watching BBC TopGear. I found it to be very entertaining. Listning to British people swear is hilarious. Also watching Sherlock and about to start Luther. Both shows have actors I enjoy in movies and so far Sherlock has been brilliant.
I don't know if $600 is fair to say as a tax.
If you tried to duplicate these guns using a stock STI, you'd spend roughly $200 on just S&H. That would only leave you someone that could stipple a grip, mill the slide and give you a DLC finish for $400.
Edit: If that 4" were a wide frame, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Spend the time to load up some HST with various powders.
I get the the range and I find out my chrony was left on and the 9v battery is dead.
Ok, save the chrony for another day. Let's see what kind of accuracy I can squeeze out.
I load up the rounds only to find that they passed the plunk test but OAL was too long for the mags.....
Waste of an afternoon....
Crushing primer can also depend on your brand of primers. I can load CCI primers in crimped military surplus with ease. Winchester and Tula will buckle under the same test.
I use Lyman treated walnut for cleaning and Lyman untreated ( I add NUfinish and Dillon brass polish ) corn for polishing. Few cut up dryer sheets in the corn cob media and I'm seeing little to no dust when separating walnut or corn media.
+1
Don't all chronos do the same job? So why not pay less and get a super easy to use free app. Hell, after using the app, I dot think if be happy using a chrony that didn't offer one.
I edited my previous post to also include the Comp' numbers requested.
As far as my setup I just use a Dillon 550b and mixed head stamp. I have an digital RCBS scale to check the charges.
This past weekend I had the privilege of participating in a fundraising match at the Dallas Pistol Club to benefit a fellow shooter battling cancer. It took the efforts of numerous people and several clubs to put this together in such short notice but the results were phenomenal! Everyone appeared to be having a great time. It was a fun blend of USPSA puzzle solving and IDPA target scoring. Best of all, between the match fees, raffle and donations, we were able to collect over $12k to help a beloved colleague.
I've never attended a USPSA match before. So it was a real treat to see an open shooter at work. Those Team Infinity shooters are amazing to watch!
I want to thank all of the volunteers to helped make this happen. It was a memorable match for sure.

My neighbor and I went in on one of these just this past week. Never having owned a chrony, I wasn't sure what to expect. I set it up at a local outdoor range and had my phone registering shots in under 5 minutes from removing the bag from the box. Not one failure in the hour spent using it. The app is definitely nice to have!
Pistol: Gans Gun 2011 w/Schumann barrel.
Accuracy was roughly 2" at 25yds rested with no clear winner among the samples.
When I ran 30 random sample rounds through my Sig MPX, they left a ragged hole about an 1"-1.5" large. I credit the red dot and stable platform for the increase in accuracy. In more capable hands, I'm sure the 2011 could produce better groupings than I could muster.
Recently acquired a new chrony and decided to try a variety of powders under Bayou Bullets 147gr and Zero 147gr JHP.
147gr TC Bayou Bullet OAL: 1.150 Clay Dot: 3.0gr Avg: 920fps PF: 135 Clay Dot: 3.2gr Avg: 950fps PF: 139 Competition: 3.0gr Avg: 925fps PF: 135 Competition: 3.2gr Avg: 962fps PF: 141 147gr JHP Zero Bullet OAL 1.150 Clay Dot: 3.2gr Avg: 890fps PF: 130 Clay Dot: 3.4gr Avg: 914fps PF: 134 Competition: 3.2gr Avg: 892fps PF: 131 Competition: 3.4gr Avg: 930fps PF: 136
With the charges all being very similar, there was little to no difference in recoil that I could perceive. All samples were very soft recoiling and very similar in accuracy in my hands.
Also, if there is any work that needs to be performed on your Tac Sol, you have to send it back to them as they do not mail parts. And their mags cost as much as gold.
Do yourself a favor and call Larry at Nelson Custom Guns. Great guy to talk to. You'll have a great product and equally great CS should you need it. It may also be the only kit with last round open and the 2011 mags are also on sale for $30 a pop.
You won't regret it.
They take little blue pills to help combat that.
It was entertaining but I really was hoping for more character depth.
And who the hell did the casting for Kylo Ren? Fire that person!
Go with the Nelson Coversion Kit. Great people to work with and the mags are reasonably priced. Definitely not as cheap as a Kimber but you get what you pay for in this case.
I've had mine for a year and absolutely love it. Bought the railed top end and mounted a PA micro red dot tp place ontop of my 2011. Zero issues and swapping out my top ends only takes a minute or two.
