  1. When I buy its must be once fired and sorted by head stamp. And 45acp must be sorted by head stamp and primer pocket size.
  2. Seems when I my priming system goes FUBAR it's when my primer magazine is more than half full. And removing the priming system to determine what the problem is without spilling primers everywhere is problematic. Its just part of the 1050 karma
  3. How do you check to make sure primers are right side up or not high. Right now I load a batch of 9mm range brass on my 1050 and then take them out the Arko bin and place them in those plastic ammo trays that come in factory boxes. Very time consuming. Is there a faster why. I find about one primer per 1000 that has issues. Usually a mil surp brass that the primer pocket didn't get enough crimp removed.
  4. I have need to make a mount for mine. I like some of the ideas I've seen here. My problem is a shelf right behind the case feeder like nwsnowburn
  5. I'm sure the fine folks at Dillon have seen worse. Send it in and a I bet you get a brand new one at no charge. Maybe someone from Dillon will see your post and comment.
  6. Two Alpha bullets makes coated cast 155 SWC www.twoaplhabullets.com
  7. 135gr RN Bayou bullet 1.14 OAL 3.9 grains of Solo 1000 equals 132 PF in 5.25 XDm 131 PF in G34 129 PF in 1911 Government Model
  8. As stated by others, I see no primer flow. Back in the day of 175 PF we loaded 3.9 clays at 1.20 with 200 gr. JFP Zero bullets. To prevent primer flow we had to go to Winchester small rifle primers.
  9. On several of my projects I have found the roll stamping causes this. You know the 40 S&W stamped on the barrel hood causes the chamber to me constricted. A reamer will take care of this. I also polish my chamber after reaming.
  10. Jim Anglin at Sailor Custom guns built a 9x25 for himself many years ago. He may have the barrel reamer.
  11. Any updates? Did you go with stainless or carbon steel on the frame and slide?
  12. Learn to enjoy cigar smoke. I think it’s a requirement if you shoot revolver.
  13. the other mark on the headstamp is the NATO spec (North Alantic Treaty Organization). You can count on the brass having a crimped primer when you see that mark.
  14. I also a long time 550 user, had the chance to buy some used SQ Deal B's over the years and didn't regret the decision. Ended up having one dedicated to 45acp the other to 9mm. Kept the 550 free for the other 14 calibers I load. Only issue I had is having what I call farmer hands from years of road construction labor. The SQ Deal B is a tight fit for placing the bullet on the round. Putting the brass in wasn't a problem just placing the bullet. If you can buy them at reasonable price go ahead. You can always sell them for equal or close to what you paid if you don’t overdo it. If you buy one well used send it to Dillon first for a rebuild. I think is cost me $25 for shipping and it was back in 10 business days. I think they just sent me a new one. It was perfect. Thank you Dillon
  15. I have owed SD B's, 550's and 1050's, sent one 550 in for a Dillon rebuild last year. The one thing that will make me pull my hair out is when the priming system on one of my 1050's decides to take a dump. There's about a half dozen fixes I go through and then call on the reloading gods and wave a Voodoo doll around. Seems to help
  16. Had three Sq Deal B's and a 550. Loaded more on the 550 in the long run since I did rifle ammo as well. Eventually sold all the Sq Deal B's and kept the 550. For me I found the Sq Deal B to confined for my hands to place the bullet and brass. Also thought my 550 had smoother operation.
  17. I will have to keep these in mind if I go the bullet feeder route along with auto-drive
  18. I will get a picture up but the spring is at home and i'm not. It's close insize to the case feed spring but not exact. Just got off the phone with a buddy of mine that ordered two super1050 earlier this year and received the same spring with each order. Has them setting on his bench with the same question as to what they are used for.
  19. In the small parts bag that came with my new Super1050 is a spring. Where does it go? The case feed plunger spring is installed by Dillon and the press functions. I do not see in the how to set up the 1050 instructions anything about this spring. Thanks for your help.
  20. I picked one off the prize table and thought I would turn it for cash or use it as trade bait. Shot it before selling it and was really amazed with the accuracy. You made a good choice.
  21. Federal must have made a boat load of crimped 40 brass. Seems to show up at all the local ranges when I pick brass after a match. One good came out of it though. I bought a second 1050 set up for 40 so I wouldn't have to sort out the ones with crimped primer pockets.
