  1. I noted a left hander bias to the stage designs in the past?
  2. I see they've added a half day Friday to allow the over flow to shoot. And its appartently opened up some slots for Saturday as well. So there's plenty of room now for anyone interested in attending.
  3. Same weekend as the Minnesota Sectional and about the same distance from central Iowa. Now what do I do? May come down to number of stages and entry fees.
  4. They have now established a waiting list and if past histoy holds true there will be 2 or 3 slots open up. Contact chadrutherford@worldnet.att.net for information and placement on waiting list.
  5. My P-16 frame dust cover cracked just ahead of the frame rails. I contacted PARA and they asked me to send the frame in. I stripped all my parts off and sent it in. I recieved a new gunsmith frame kit and my ejector which I had not removed from my old frame. The ejector was an after market part too. The frame was steel and had been hard chromed and milled for an S&A magwell. Total time from shipping old frame before receiving new frame was 18 days. My out of pocket costs were the phone call and Fed Ex shipping. Still have to put the pistol together and this will require some fitting due to the new frame rails being thicker. And the frame bridge will need milled for my ramped barrel. Then hard chromed. May as well keep enjoying my STI.
  6. I agree, so I always ran mine on concrete basement floor. Still seems like a short life span for an electric motor. Look forword for its replacement so I can clean cases and reload again.
  7. I have a CV-500 and the motor burnt out after two years of use. But those two years actually boil down to 2 days per month for a few hours. So my CV-500 lasted 24 days @ 4 hours per day so let call it 100 hours of use. I'm in the process of waiting for a replacement motor from Dillon. I think the motor should either have over heating protection of some kind or be made more durable. I gave my 15 year old Lyman 1200 to one of our Junior shooters so currently with out any type of case cleaner. Good to Dillon monitors this board. They have many great products.
  8. I think Stage One had about seven different ways you could shoot the stage. And the barrels blocking the second to last paper target just sucked in the rounds. Resulting in a hard cover hit and miss on paper. Great Stage
  9. Estate Cartridge Inc. Loaded by Federal and purchased at Sportsman's Warehouse. Cost is less then Federal's value pack at Wally world and a better performing round in my CM1100. Read (no jams, no problems) $3.39 per box or 5% off if you buy a flat (10 boxes) so $3.22 per box. 2 3/4 inch 1 1/8 oz shot 7 1/2 shot, 3 Dram Eq. 1200 FPS
  10. Rockwell, That's how I understand it works. Hey, how many of you that have read this post are upgrading to a life membership or joining NRA for the first time. How about some feed back? Thanks in advance.
  11. Found this deal on NRA life membership on another shooting forum and have started the process myself. Converting from an annual membership to a NRA life membership. Message below is copied from the other forum. Instead of calling I used the internet. www.nramemberservices.org/default.asp Posted on AR15.com general forum 3/3/04 at 20:46:30 hours I just got a deal on a life membership in the NRA. The deal can be had under the Charlton Heston legacy points program. The whole thing can be done over the phone. Call the life membership number: ( 1-800 672-3888 Option #3) Remind them about their offer. I made an $8 dollar donation to the communications fund. (good for so many points) I extended my mebership for a year. (good for so many points) I then got an NRA credit card (applied for it right there on the phone and just using it gives you so many points) All of these points can be used towards a life membership.... I recieved the credit card in about two weeks. Called the NRA back, charged $240. to the NRA credit card, and voila... a life member for $283! Did this all over the phone, never had to send in any paperwork. I learned about this deal from two of my friends who did the same thing. I have no idea how long this offer is good for.
  12. Intel6 I like the idea about trying a light load activator seal before modification of gas ports. Keeping the shotgun in somewhat original configuration is appealing and I do turkey hunt. I'll drill the dimpal out and deburr with my dremel tool. Don't tell my gunsmith I own a dremel tool or he'll shoot me. I understand why after seening some of the projects that have come his way after they've been attacked by a dremel grinding attachment. A DMW easy loader has been ordered from Brownells. My mind is not made up on what magazine tube extension I'll go with? I found a used Clark Custom shotgun magazine band at the gun show for $6.00 which I think adds a more finished look to the entire setup?
  13. Thank you for the help. Another question. What is the recommended method for getting that little dimple out of the upper portion of magazine tube that is attached to the frame? It looks like this dimple will have to go or I won't be able to load the desired number of rounds into an after market magazine tube extension.
  14. Picked up at the local gun show a new 11-87 SPS-T with 21" barrel and rifle Tru Glo Sights. So far have shot a box of Remington Nitro Sporting Clays and one box of Winchester AA Super Sport Sporting Clays without problems. I tried some Winchester AA Light Target loads and they just didn't cycle the bolt. I have not messed with the gas ports and plan to try other brands of ammo as time allows. 1. Should I increase the gas ports to made the light target load work? I guess what I'm asking is would you guys who contribute some excellent tips to this forum bother with re-sizing the gas ports to make the light load work? Or leave it alone? 2. The choke is a Remington x-full turkey. I guess that's what the T in SPS-T stood for? What choke(s) would you recommend for slugs and regular shot loads for 3-gun competition? 3. I plan to shoot limited division. So what make of magazine extension would you recommend? I was thinking about a 4 shot extension tube made by Choate? I've had trouble with the Tac Star tubes seperating at the threaded coupling. Are there other tube extensions you would recommend? 4. What other things should I add, replace or be aware of. Right now we have lots of snow so I have lots of time to mess around with my new toy. Thank you for all the help.
  15. Many of us in the central midwest would get together and place 5 to 8 case MTG bullet orders with Lecks and have no problems up to about early 2003. Since that time we've tried to order MTG bullets and gave up. We've see the light and moved on to other vendors who support our sport. Having personal problems is one thing. Bending the truth and charging our CC without delivery for more than 3 months is a bit over the top.
  16. Mike, Don't own the super 90 yet. Just looking what my potential costs would be to modify to my liking. The pistol grip stock would have to go. Just curious, what difference would pre pan or post ban have to do with converting shotgun to a non pistol grip stock? Thanks Brad
  17. Looking to purchase a used Benelli M1 super 90 with a pistol grip stock. But would like to replace stock with a synthetic non pistol grip style for a resonable price. Would like to look at any web links you could refer me to for price and ordering information. Brownells does not offer a non pistol grip synthetic stock that will fit the Benelli according to their Tech people.
