  1. Prochrono Pal or Digital. Unless you are going to use the wireless remote or printer functions, there is no need in spending the extra money on the digital though.
  2. Check out these Tactical Solutions uppers, I use the LT, but the M4 weighs exactly like an M4. http://shootersconnectionstore.com/AR-22-A...-Unit-C269.aspx I will try to post a pic of mine as it stands on a dedicated lower in a few...
  3. Most all of that is good to go on a .45!
  4. He does have a fine Avatar doesn't he?
  5. It is not the same gun as a Trojan, it is the same as a Sentry, it has a forged and checkered frame. It is more expensive, but is really sharp. The only thing I recommend is using Wilson mags, and you may want to respring it to suit you. Otherwise, ready to go. You can call me if you want more info, as I can hold it up to the phone, or describe it to you in detail.
  6. OK, you can't used the part you reference, it is for use with the slots on the handguard, not the top. You can use any of the following parts though, depending on whether you want the rail to extend all the way from the receiver or just under the sight, and what length your handguard is. JPTR-R, the full length that runs from the reciever to the forward most screw hole on rifle length handguards, JPTR-M, the mid-length JPTR-C, the carbine You can use all of them on the rifle length handguard, the carbine and midlength on a midlength, and only the carbine on the carbine. Measure your handguard and see if it is 12", 9", or 7". If you have questions, you can call me at 800-387-4045. Thanks, Mike
  7. If you can only buy a new Kimber, forget about it. There are too many non-series 70 parts in there. The firing pin block safety that operates off the grip safety is not conducive to error free operation. That said, the older true 70 series guns were awesome, and I have owned some of them in the past. The Trojan is competition ready sans some new springs, and some Wilson ETM mags. Another bonus for the Trojan is that it allows you to register for Contingency Program money from STI if you should win your class at an Area match, and they support our sport in a major way, as do the STI distributors. There is a place to get a good deal on a Trojan.
  8. Chris, I will be praying for your mom. I am also going to share this with my family, and some guys from my church via email. Let us know if there is more we can do.
  9. Well said. There will always be those who nay say one thing or another. You are on a quest to be better, and you are proud to be working with the group, and the sponsors, as well you should be. Don't let those voices get in your head and bring you down. Some are jealous, some are sinical, and some don't understand, and that will always be. Good luck to you this year, and let me know if I can help you on your journey. I look at it like joining an exclusive club with benefits and costs.
  10. Yeah, I thought so too Merlin. I intend to mess with one as soon as they arrive and see what actually is.
  11. This just in, the Spartan 9mm is going to be the same price. It is supposed to be UNRAMPED. For all the smack talking going on here, I have only sold a couple of these.
  12. On the contrary, the stuff that gets in the top has a place to escape, and fine dust gets in anyway. It isn't like mags are airtight, and when they hit the ground, open side or not, you aren't putting them back in your gun if they are sloppy, unless you are me, and guess what, my gun runs anyway. I cannot see where there is any difference in this and witness holes. Sorry, but these are competition mags, and if they are dirty, we clean them. No one has had an issue so far. Also, see the Wilson ETMs, and many other mags with slots in the side.
  13. I have some, actually the prototypes before we started selling them. The .40/140 hold a reloadable 20 rounds. The 9mm/140 hold 23 easily. The 9mm/170 hold 29. They are made with STI tubes, Grams springs and followers, and Dawson Basepads. Howard Smith spacers are used in the 9mm mags. Superior tunes them from top to bottom, recutting feed lips and raduising the back edge cut. Then a witness line is cut into them, and marked for round count in a way that is both visible and tactile. They are polished then bead blasted and polished again. They have never failed to run 100% in both my Limited and Open guns. We have sold dozens of these, with frequent reorders from the same buyers. There are a couple of guys on this forum that are using them. The guys at Superior have tuned and used mags in this configuration for a couple of years.
  14. OK, I have been busy today and didn't see all the questions. Yes, one fellow stepped up and ordered his. I put them on the website for special order until I get them. The ship date is supposed to be 2 weeks away, if that holds true. Not sure if it is ramped barrel, but I would guess yes until we see it. No immediate plans for a .40 yet, but I answered yes when we were asked if it would sell a while back. Pricing appears to be the same as .45 on my order confirmation, but I have not seen an invoice yet. Here's the link to order, I will have 5 in a couple of weeks, and I am going to up my order a bunch tomorrow! http://shootersconnectionstore.com/STI-Spa...-9mm-P1589.aspx
  15. I have 2 of the protoypes, and they are no different for competition, but allow you to holster eaiser sitting in a chair and in your car.
  16. I Expect all of you to call me on Monday and order your 9mm Spartan because we will have them in the first quarter.
  17. Vikings501 from this forum has a tactical non pistol grip stock for sale. You can call him at Shooters Connection for details, he works there.
  18. Exactly how are you dropping the slide? Slide stop/release lever or pulling it rearward and letting it go? The latter should work, and is the proper way.
