  1. I think there should be a mix, that's all.
  2. How are we supposed to attract people to this sport when there are 4-5 pics on our homepage, and every single one shows someone shooting an open gun? I have as nice an open gun as money can buy, but far more people get into this sport with Glocks and 1911s than $4K equipment. This wouldn't stop me, but everyone in the game doesn't shoot OPEN, and that is the perception. Prospective new shooters don't know that they compete against like equipment. Geez.
  3. Welcome, come on in, the water is warm, and you have friends here...you are getting sleepy. Both of the clubs mentioned here ROCK! You will find everyone ready to help you get acquainted and acclimated.
  4. Congrats from the first of the "12 others".
  5. Your title is asking the Pros. You probably won't hear from them here. First, I believe, they make a name for themselves by winning major matches. Don't confuse team shirts and "sponsorship" with being a professional shooter, someone who represents a manufacturer full time. . No one in this sport or the industry gets paid to just shoot. Even the top dogs can be seen taking meetings and doing demos at the SHOT SHOW, NRA Convention, etc. Everyone has to do some work other than shooting, everyone. Most of the time it is marketing or training.
  6. I hope this doesn't get closed for "politics", it isn't. Please do not discuss politics in this thread. I am honored to be associated with class acts like Bill and Cindy Noyes, and Bill's congratulatory letter to the new Area 6 Director Linda Chico shows the high caliber of volunteers you get accross this country. Hat's off you Bill, congrats Linda. Congratulations to the Next Area 6 Director: Linda Chico Hi folks. The results for the 2010 election are in. Please join me in congratulating Linda Chico, who will be the next USPSA Area 6 Director, starting in January, 2011. I cannot express to you all the level of gratitude that I have for everything you all did to help me in this race. But the majority of the electorate who voted in the past four weeks felt that Linda would better serve their needs and desires than would I, and I accept that and look forward to working with the new Area Director in any way she wishes. As I look back over the campaign, I have absolutely no regrets. Cindy and I (yes, this was a joint effort) ran on the same theme that was shared by other candidates in the three Area races this year: that of the need for improved communication between USPSA and its customer membership. Linda shares many of my views, and I believe she will work towards opening up expanded channels between the Board of Directors, Sedro Woolley, and we: the voting membership. Linda also has considerable experience in running other matches outside of USPSA, and can hopefully use these resources to help bring some of the other shooting games in more closely alongside USPSA pistol matches, multigun matches, and Steel Challenge-type events. Again, thank you for everything you did, thank you for voting, and please join me in thanking Linda Chico for stepping up to take on this difficult volunteer position in the sport that we all enjoy so much. I'm sure she will do us proud. Sincerely, Bill Noyes Section Coordinator Georgia Section, GA-05 p.s. And now that this election is over, we have a FAR MORE IMPORTANT ONE coming up November 2nd. This may be the last chance we have to take back the country from those who would see its very fabric torn asunder. It's not too late to fix this: Remember in November! Bn
  7. We had a lot of people sign up for this class today, but there is still room. If you want to go faster, then this is for you!
  8. Corey, great job, it truly was your day today.
  9. For those of you who have said "Count me in!", I will be at the BGSL USPSA match this weekend, the BGSL Steel Showdown next weekend, the BGSL IDPA match the next weekend, and at the TN Section the last weekend, and you may bring me a check or deposit to hold your spot. Checkout our Facebook page for this series at http://www.facebook....1?v=wall&ref=ts, or search "Masters and Champions" on FB. Thanks to all who have inquired. If you are an experienced USPSA or IDPA competitor who doesn't meet the prerequisites, I encourage you to contact me for an exception. What we want are shooters who already know the basics of the game, other than that, just a desire to improve.
  10. I am fortunate enough to be sponsored by Wilson Combat, Blade Tech, JP, and Shooters Connection. Each deal has its own merits, and it is never proper to discuss your compensation in my opinion. I am grateful for the support of these companies. I agree with what MarkCO said.

  12. I just find this disclaimer when I go there: Sorry, but our sales practices do not comply with STI's requirements. We are unable to offer STI firearms at this time. Please try the following comparable quality manufacturers instead: Kimber Nighthawk Les Baer Wilson Combat
  13. When I go to their main page and handguns and the STI logo, it is an empty section. When I type in STI it finds nothing, yet your link takes me to a page that I can refresh. Oh well, either way, if I can help you, let me know.
  14. Bud's doesn't normally sell STI's, but I cannot talk about that here. I just went to their site and there are none for sale at this time. If you want to discuss how to make this gun 100% and what is "normal", call me or one of my staff at 800-387-4045 and we'll help diagnose it for free and give you contact info for the factory should you need it!
  15. Negative Ghost Rider, they will not. Tell me what you need, maybe I can hook you up.
  16. oh, those kind of swingers, oh
  17. Out of the box reliability is not uncommon for the 1911. My Wilson CQB ran from the first round, and 5 years later has only jammed once, and that must have been ammo or operator induced. 5" government length guns outperform commanders and shorter. .45 ACP guns will run when other sub calibers will not, and many have purchased STI single stacks with no issues whatsoever. The key is using good magazines right from the start. I use Wilson 500 ETM mags, and used the 47D before that. Either of those mags, and a well built name brand .45 1911 will run in my experience. That doesn't mean that you won't want to change springs to match your ammo.
  18. Mark, you nailed it, that may just get you on there.
  19. Stuart, your gun is pointing itself at me. I knew those things were dangerous.
  20. The PRO bag comes with the inner bag, dividers, and brass bag. The ULTRA comes with an XL pistol sleeve and brass bag.
  21. Most of us have this happen occasionally when we lose focus and get in a hurry. You saw exactly what you needed on one of the shots. Most of the time it is the first shot that hits the A, then you move out early to do something else like move or transition.
