  1. Denny Chapman, the guy in the cowboy getup, was B class when I last shot with him a lot of years ago. He quit USPSA and IDPA for SASS, then Mounted Cowboy shooting, eventually being the main attraction at the KY horse park riding standing in the saddle shooting balloons with blanks. He never returned to our club matches, and I hadn't seen him in several years.
  2. What is this? My Stevie Wonder impression? What I look like when relieving myself? No, no, I got it..."This is what Steel1212's avatar looks like fellas."
  3. Nice win Chris. Thanks to all who made this happen, it was really fun and professional. Great to see all of my friends from around the region. Thanks to the Boy Scouts for a great lunch. The photos show what a great time everyone was having. I think this club can have a section match soon.
  4. Jeff, I have been thinking about cutting a slot in the set screw and marking the block with 1/4 reference points so that I can use a screwdriver, knife, cartridge case, or coin to adjust it, but more for a frame of reference. The thing is that I want to set it and forget it, and I mean reliable in all climates. There is just not that much of an edge flying so close to the ground.
  5. We used to use that seven dust to keep papa roaches off the garden I tell you what.
  6. Ryan, stop by and I will trim it and/or show you how if you like.
  7. Stefan, now you have forced my hand. I will have to show the pic of you from the Star Wars Convention.
  8. STI mags run better with the spacers. SV mags do not require the spacers. Both mags like 1.155 to 1.165 ammo in my gun. You can get metal spacers, like the HSMITH or Joey Hardy, I recommend getting 170mm and cutting them to fit your basepads. If you use flat basepads, the 140mm will be fine. You can also get plastic spacers like the Arredondo or STI. They come ready to cut or break for preset lengths. The price difference is negligible. Some guys attach the spacers with different adhesive methods. I leave mine loose. They work great. The rattling only occurs when they are unloaded.
  9. http://smg.photobuck...3gunShotgun.flv Me on stage 6, slow and deliberate, but good enough for 3rd on the stage. This was a really fun match.
  10. It look like us single stackers are going to be pretty lonely! United we stand! bring on the haters, haha. Used to be us Glock shooters were a standing alone. Wonder what happened... More people embraced the alternative lifestyle I guess, JUST KIDDING!
  11. Giancarlo is a nice, nice guy, and his designs are really innovative. This gun is light, flat (in more ways than one), and you can get that ammo from Fiochi here in the US too. Should be a winner.
  12. This was a really fun and challenging match. I had the best day ever shooting in squad 4 with my friends, Barry, Chris, Dave, Greg, Jack, JT, Ryan, and Steve. It was also great to see all of my friends from around the country as well including Mr. & Mrs. AP3. While the morning had its challenges, I was really happy with the way I finished in the afternoon. Special thanks to Gary, Frank, Jeff, and all of the RO's and staff. The prize table was really great, everyone got more than the entry fee back in cool stuff that they can use. Thanks to the sponsors. Did I mention the food? Well the lunch was the best money can buy. In addition Mrs. Airedale provided brownies, and Zookeep provided no-bake cookies. Congrats to Stefan and Ryan in Tac Optics, Brian and Brian in Limited, and Cameron in Open. What I learned? I like Fort Benning rules and scoring, it made things flow smooth, and rewarded accuracy. I liked shooting little targets at distances. I like my new JP rifle, I just had to give it a chance and spend some time with it. I still think shooting with your friends is the best. I am grateful for my sponsors, Wilson Combat, Blade-tech, and Shooters Connection. Looking forward to next year!
  13. I know where there is a brand new Trusight .40

  15. I am using a 140 in 9mm with no issues whatsoever. We have sold a bunch of them. Two guys bought them because their mags didn't work, and in both cases needed gun work. They are not a magic pill, but they run.
  16. BTW, I think it is still only one of every one hundred boys who get into scouting that make Eagle.
  17. The Boy Scouts may not exist as it did when we were kids, but it is still a place to learn things you will use every day as an adult. I think most kids I see are wimps compared to what I knew as a kid. The BSA should make them less so. Parents should also make this a priority. We are growing ever softer in a world that is growing ever harder. Man, I read this and I feel like some cynical old geezer.
  18. Mine runs better on standard velocity CCI than Mini Mags, when I run Mini Mags I get an occasional bolt over jam.
  19. To get my Eagle, I had to perform a hit with each of three different types of weapons. My brother got his later, during the easy times and only had to use a rifle, slacker.
