  1. We really didn't deserve these finishes, but we screw up really fast! yes, yes we do. But yet I still screwed up slow enough for my SO to see my procedural, but then again, you were the SO!

  3. Bead blasting will take care of it, or you could use some sandpaper.
  4. Because we all took a lethal dose of No-Brains prior to the match, that's why.
  5. Being a volunteer president may take on different meanings at different clubs. IMO if you are actually an executive director or operations manager, I mean a full time employee who makes the entire thing happen, and the budget affords it, then compensation is expected. IF you just put a little more into it than the guys who setup, RO, tear down, and show up for work days, then I think compensation is over the top. Hard to know what is right for other clubs, as the situations are all unique. Our club has an operations manager and a staff, including a range staff. The pistol sports are all volunteer run, and while we have money to do what we want, there isn't enough to pay a salary.
  6. OK, unless I'm missing something, Firebird has a stripped receiver but not a complete lower, or is that just all that Shooters Connection carries? We carry the stripped and the whole rifle. I can get complete lowers from Jim, but everyone seems to want different grips and stocks, so we do mostly stripped lowers and we have LPK's too.
  7. Firebird FPXL15, hands down one of the nicest lowers period. I also happen to know where they are on sale right now, but that is irrelevant. A lot of thought went into this lower, right down to the nicest hardcoat anodizing I have ever seen, black as my soul. Here's a link to the lower so you can see it: http://shootersconnectionstore.com/Firebir...iver-P1126.aspx Plus Jim is on this forum, a super nice guy, he and all of his distributors support our sport in a major way.
  8. Oh... come on... do you really think that personalities and/or egos are so prevalent that a newbie or casual observer can spot them at their first match? Sometimes before their first match, wrong stuff they heard at the local gun shop, or at the range even. My comment was kind of tongue in cheek. I saw this the first time and had to do it, it was an addiction, but then I am not shy. I know that we can be very intimidating without even knowing it. It isn't anything we do wrong, just some people aren't assertive and want to start where it is 100% comfortable.

If they see my usual squad and hear the constant joking we do with one another, they would think we were horrible. Vikings501 tells me my best steel string is a fluke, I tell him "that's all you got", someone else says "I wouldn't have done it that way" and it is all in jest, part of the fun for us, but could easily be misconstrued. If you see a squad of good shooters hazing one another, well you get the idea. What they don't see is how we all support one another and want everyone to shoot their absolute best, especially on the road. This sport is larger than life, some want to start where it is 100% comfortable.
  11. What will it hurt, and what is the cost difference for any other suitable barrel? I say use it, but then again, I use Noveske and JP barrels in everything.
  12. Glock did it, Springfield did it, S&W did it, why not Ruger too. We have to continously be aware that everyone isn't comfortable in our testosterone raged race gun world, no matter how nice we really are, and if it gets people shooting, then it is good for all of us.
  13. I have a 10/22 in a Nordic Components Chassis. I used components identical to my JP Rifle. It runs perfectly on cheap mags and cheap ammo, but I prefer CCI. I am interested in comparing it to the S&W, but I am waiting for a threaded barrel version. only drawback to the Nordic chassis is that the bore axis relative to the scope height is about 1/4" lower, but then we aren't shooting this at 300 yards and it doesn't seem to matter but the 1/4", unlike with a .223. I am eager to get a v-block from Ruger, and the gapper for the triggerguard when they are avail. For now, I made my own. One advantage to the 10/22 is that it runs 100% all the time with no tinkering, and mags are cheap, really cheap. The Nordic setup doesn't change that, just lets you hang your favorite parts to it. I used a JP Vtac rifle length handguard, Magpul CTR stock, MOE Grip, and screwed on a vortex flash hider so I wouldn't have to clock it, and could remove it for my suppressor if need be. FWIW, the Tacsol uppers are amazing too. The reason I chose the Nordic was that I already had the 10/22, the stock, grip, and lots of mags.
  14. My 21" with tube works and so does Vikings501's, we have been using them for a couple of months, same bag you showed there. The shotgun rides a little corner to corner, but works.
  15. I suspect you have the proper grip, and the new guys and your dad simply aren't providing the Glock with enough resistance. As for the airsoft, well????
  16. Way to go. Don't discount having your head screwed on straight when we didn't. I got a lot of my wins that way.

  19. I just saw this too, even though I had spoken with you about it on the phone. Way to go player! About damn time.
