  1. All I asked was what happens when a primer goes off with a die on top of the case. Doesn't have anything to do with the cnc head, the set up you have, how you reload or your vast experience in reloading, or my experience for that matter... I realize that the cnc toolhead doesn't increase the chances of a primer det, but putting a die over a case that has a primer det is what I am concerned about. Where does the pressure/flash go? If it goes down, (which I think is the only direction it would go, but what kind of shrapnel will happen?) I would also think it would increase the chance of having an entire primer tube go off, not good...been there done that, don't want to do it again. If it goes up, what could it do to the die? Maybe there is a reason Dillon didn't thread that position... Just wondering...
  2. No need to insult... Had it happen or just speculating?
  3. Wow...so many words, still doesn't answer the question...
  4. What happens when you have a primer go off with that die in #3? jj
  5. Wynn, you will be happy to know that we decided to put out super senior shooting positions. Everyone will be using them thou... There ya go. jj
  6. Remove the primer ski ramp, raise the ram, and use an open end wrench. And it's not really that much of a hassle to change primer size, I do it all the time. jj
  7. If they have it in stock they usually ship same day the order was placed. Call them...
  8. Kinda supports the method of gauge and check primer seat of all loaded ammo prior to going to the range... ?
  9. Seldom will the factory spec be what your rifle yeilds. What does the crono say when you put the factory ammo they it? Once you have that figure you should be able to match it, at least close...
  10. All you will need is 104 rifle rounds, one for each tgt... 104 x $0.80 = $83.20 Just don't miss... jj
  11. Your XTR 2 1-5 should do just fine, unless you are shooting longer distances. If so then I would go with the new Burris XTR2 1-8. jj Eta; using a reddot is personal preference, some do use em even with 1x at the low end...quicker to stay mounted and use the reddot instead of changing the power on the scope.
  12. LRPs don't fit in pistol brass
  13. Kelly, Those ones we shot at TX3G were the new ones made by Magnetospeed. jj https://www.brownells.com/shooting-accessories/targets-accessories/target-accessories/t1000-target-hit-indicator-sku100026899-115608-216473.aspx?cm_mmc=cse-_-Itwine-_-shopzilla-_-100-026-899&utm_medium=cse&utm_source=connexity&utm_campaign=itwine&utm_content=100-026-899
  14. The RF is designed to hold 100, large or small. You can get 110 or so small ones in it, but its pretty full with 100 large.
  15. XS Sights make a ambi set, work good...and they support 3gun. jj
  16. I just pull the primer advance arm's spring...quick and easy
  17. I have been loading precision ammo on a 650 for a couple of years. Works well... Most of the guys I shoot with use a full length die instead of the old neck die only system, but they mostly are using a single stage. A progressive should work with a full length die thou. I use a neck die followed by a Redding body die, so I have more control over what a single full length die would do. I then use a hand cranked Lee 3 way quick trimmer die on the same head. Once the brass comes off the processing head it's ready to load after tumbling the case lube off. On the loading head I set a primer, put hand trickled powder in, and seat a bullet with a Redding competition seat die... Run out is under .002, brass is all uniform, powder is as accurate as possible, and bullet seating is perfect with the Redding seat die... jj ETA; I use a 3rd party head with floating die set ups on the neck die, and the seat die...
  18. I have found that when this starts happening my shell plate is too loose. It allows a bit of a gap between the shell plate and the primer wheel and the primers start dragging... jj
