  1. Kelly, I may be wrong, but I thought the USPSA Tactical proposal was a Standard rifle with ONE optic, not an Open rifle that could have two (or more, which would be KEWL!) optics, bipod, etc... Here it is from the 31 Oct - 2 Nov 03 minutes; "e. A2 Moves that USPSA Rifle divisions expand rules to include a new 'Tactical rifle' division, defined as a standard rifle with no more than one optical/electronic sight." A8 seconded it, and it was unanimously passed. It appears when reading those minutes that the board hasn't yet addressed the bipod in Tactical issue... yep, they have a lot to do... JJ
  2. Thanks Erik & Phil! Mine has not locked back on empty since it was about 1 month old... guess I'll get out my file, after getting a replacement Easy Loader, just in case... Blue Skies! JJ
  3. Check out the ATN Digital, multi retical that maintains zero... JJ
  4. Erik, So what I think what you are saying is; the EL should release the bolt about 1/2 - 3/4 of the travel, then the bolt will lock back on empty and not lock back on loaded? Blue Skies! JJ
  5. Erik, What was the fix? Thanks! JJ
  6. Open rifle, Producton pistol, and Limited shotgun? 3-one gun matches? I know of no other major 3gun match in the US that is having this problem. The basic reason we shoot 3gun is to get good at ALL three guns, and all of the major matches I have been to (not many) or read the rules of are rewarding the competitors for their mastery of ALL three guns used in multi and single gun scenarios. 3gun shooters have been "raised" on the one-division concept, and have accepted it, so it is not a problem. The aggrigate scoring concept and trying to accommodate the true multi-divison shooter is not going to be needed. Yea, you may run into one or two shooters that want to do it, but that's not the majority by any means. If Joe Shooter brings his 5k$ racegun with multiple dot sights, laser, and flashlight on it to the US 3gun Nationals, then he will probably want to enter just Open anyway because all of his guns will probably be Open. The 3gun shooters WANT to be able to do multi-gun stages, the shooters WANT to be able to do multi-power factors in a stage, the local clubs WANT to accommodate them, so USPSA NEEDS to adopt the appropriate rules and scoring program. Simple, next subject... like maybe, bipods in Tactical??? Expanding Tactical rules to all 3 guns??? Or adding the "He-Man" division??? JJ
  7. I haven't noticed any changes in zero... yet... and I hope it doesn't happen...been shooting 10 inch slug plates out to 50 yds with no problems after a take down and reassembly for cleaning... I really like the dot on the receiver, closer to my eye, looks like a big picture window with a dot in it! JJ
  8. I have a JP Limited 1187 that I just finished modifying to a convertable Limited/Open shotgun, and having shot it in a couple of matches in Open, I think I found THE setup for me anyway. It came from JP with a 21 (22?) inch smooth slug barrel with rifle sights. First I had my smithy put on the receiver mounted Da-Mar Scope Mount from Brownells (483-100-001) and put a JPoint on that. The JPoint on top of the Da-Mar is very low and doesn't change my cheek weld. I can also use the front sight on the barrel with the notch in the rear of the JPoint in case of dot failure, just aim about 4 inches low at 15 yards. I really like the dot sight closer to my eye on the receiver compared to mounted on the barrel like the JP Open Shotgun. Flip & Burn loading in Open is easy, and none of the sights are in the way. Converting to Limited is also easy; just remove the JPoint, the DA-Mar mount is not in the way at all. Next I installed the obligitory Tec speed loader bracket and Arradondo "funnel". These are easily removable to convert between Open & Limited because they are mounted with extended trigger group pins. Then I added the Briley compensator/choke setup from Brownells, (129-301-001 thru 129-301-008, take your pick) Also needed is the special choke wrench, 129-310-000. You may need to enlarge your gas ports, mine are now .120, test fire the final setup before drilling! Lastly, add a 5 round extension tube for total of 10 in the tube for Open, or put on the 3 rounder for Limited, and I have a Limited/Open convertable shotgun! With all the barrel mounted dot suggestions above, I just thought I would add my alternative of the receiver mounting, the setup works great for either Limited or Open, and I now have a great sight mounted for fall deer hunting!
