  1. yeah if you have a normal hopper just do the spring fix, much more reliable, I did that to the Pro one on my Revolution, I did double springs to make it even better.
  2. I do admit I would love to have a sensor that was detecting upside down primers on the ramp itself, as one of the primers I use are so soft they are not salvageable like Federal and CCI are (yes I pop em out and reuse em)
  3. I wash, dry, rollsize, then decap/size. Since I started roll sizing I do not need to use case lube on my brass, which means I don't have to wash a second time. I process my brass on an automated 1050 while loading on a Revolution.
  4. Saul is just being proactive on this one, It's a mechanical device, some will fail, either just because of tolerance stacking issues, or from people messing with them. As well, over time everything wears, this is just showing you how to deal with possible issues due to wear and tear. Nothing lasts forever, even Dillon parts wear out and break right? I don't see this as "hey this thing is going to show up broken" BUT, I am a massive fanboy apparently and willing to dismiss any and all problems with anything......
  5. When someone criticizes without having experience with a product you come off as a whiner, I'm not going off the deep end, I'm pointing out the stupidity of your comments. But, as I've sat and had dinner with Saul and Eli in Serbia at the Euros and talked about this machine let's discuss some of your complaints, based on what I can remember from our talk about the device, first off, not being able to mount it to a press, liability plain and simple is the single number one reason for this, directly feeding into presses is a straight up no go due to how common it is for primer stacks to ignite on both the 650 and the 1050. Secondly is the fact that this machine is designed to fill tubes that a lot of different machines take, from DIllon to Hornady to Mk7 and so on. Maybe one day someone else can make an adapter and share the file online so people can print it themselves, but I doubt you'll see DAA do it. Hanging it off the bench, simple, to reduce the overall size and bulk of the machine and reduce the cost of manufacture. It is very stable hanging off of a bench, with about 95% of the mas sitting on the bench, but if you don't want to, you can easily put it on top of a box, simulating the height you seem to want. Incredibly easy to do, I bet the shipping box would be good enough for this, although you might need to add a bit more height for the tube to clear. If your bench doesn't have an overhang to allow the machine to fit, then yes, you'll have to come up with a solution, but again, based on imagery on here and other sites, that's uncommon. Most benches do have room, at least if they have presses mounted to them. No large primer, that also is really simple economics. In Europe especially small primers are incredibly more popular than large primer. Probably on the order of 4 or 5 to 1. If the demand is there to produce a large primer one, they will make one, but it will most likely be a completely separate unit. This was thought about long and hard, and it was again more economical to go with a small primer dedicated machine first than to build a machine that can do both when they aren't even sure if there will be sufficient orders to justify doing so. They wanted to bring this machine to the market at a good price point, which they've done.
  6. yeah we get lucky now and then for primers, currently 5k of CCI is bang on $200, Federal $225ish (CDN) and S&B $180, but they've been much higher, seen Federals at $60/1000. I'm seriously loving this DAA fanboy thing, I wonder how Saul and Eli would react to that? Oooh crap, I must be a Mk7 cultist then too. And what about CZ? Man I must straight up be all Cthulhu over them
  7. I've got two RLs and a Super, cutting the frame would be an easy fix if you didn't like how it ended up. Angus has it done to one of his and runs it for processing. Now with the new 1100, I think the frame might be swappable between them, not 100% sure on that though
  8. having received Robi's and Greg's care packages I can state they both have the same, or at least a perfect copy, of the light firing pin spring in their kits.
  9. As far as I know only Robin has the proper light firing pin spring, it's the CZUB one that was a standard part of the Canadian Shadomate (Orange editions may have had them too), it is a much longer and thinner wire spring. Hit me up at a match I have em too.
  10. I don't use the 8.5# spring in my match gun as it won't make 5lb weight limit for Production. But with the super light firing pin spring from Robin Sebo I have zero issues with all the various primers. I never use extended firing pins though.
  11. The old RLs just need the base cut to allow the bearing to rotate through and then you can just add a gear to the drive shaft and a motor. Angus did that years ago. Rumor was the 1050 was designed to have that done in the beginning or at least as an option. Not sure if that is true, but it's what I was told by a few people
  12. When loading on the 1050 I check the powder every hundred rounds or so, as I stop to top up primers anyhow. On my Revo I randomly stop and check powder weights, but once I get into the groove I stop doing that. When loading rifle I weight every charge, at least for the 308, 223 is done like pistol
  13. $200 is not even a full case of primers up here these days. I bought a Revolution with primer collator to not have to load tubes again, but I still load on the 1050 fairly often and hate loading tubes for that
  14. I was thinking one could actually run a Judge die in the first station, remove the swage and decap in that position, or if it has crap in it, it could get rejected
  15. you could, but then you wouldn't be able to decap.
  16. yeah totally dumb, which is why so many people are ordering it. It is actually quite sensible, reduces the height of the unit, making it less likely to fall over (which I've had happen when barely touching the RF100). It's compact, easy to setup and easy to run. If your bench doesn't have room for it as is, a simple board clamped to the edge of your bench would work, or as stated above, build a lift for it, pretty simple, or, just put it on a chair. Or, don't buy it, invent your own stellar tube filler, get it made and marketed and show DAA how is should be done. I won't hold my breath
  17. I'd love to see one of these in person, or even an upgrade for the Dillon casefeeders with the same options, reverse etc.
  18. Robbie Cernigoj is Cesar-shop, in Slovakia, good guy and used to be a CZ team member before going to Bul. I just brought back a ton of stuff from him and Robin Sebo as CZfangirl states, getting CZ stuff in Canada blows. Quite like the strips you use to polish in the various areas. Neat, never thought of using jeweler stuff on my guns.
  19. DAA primertube filler is now available to order. There is also a kit with 4 tubes and 4 magnetic collars. https://www.doublealpha.biz/us/daa-primer-pro-collator https://www.doublealpha.biz/us/combo-primer-pro-pickup-tubes-magnetic-collars
  20. I run at 2400 on my RL for processing. 2100 for loading while the Revo was down.
  21. I much prefer the extra stations, but really wish the first station had been a debris check die spot or something similar.
  22. 9lb recoil, 9lb main spring, Shadowmate firing pin spring (super light from the factory). no nose diving of the gun and lights off everything
  23. the Armonov one is very secure, just as secure as the original. The one I made in an attempt to copy the idea, yeah, not so good lol. But I am not a machinist soooo
