  1. I worked on a coworkers 1911 that had a similar issue. I put a pick down in the "corner" of the camber and hauled out a big ring of impacted lead. I'm sure you checked this or gave it a hell of a cleaning but I mention it "just in case".
  2. Here's an interested read about chambers and such... http://www.brownells.com/GunTech/Gauging-Success-Minimum-Headspace-And-Maximum-Col/detail.htm?lid=11470&cm_mmc=social+media-_-Facebook-_-article-_-headspace%26COL

    11.5 Main Spring

I generally had good luck with the 11.5lb mainspring but occasionally I'd have some Winchester primers not set off (their quality seems to have gone down in my opinion). I went back with the 13lb spring because it was 100% reliable. I've not found the DA pull to be the restriction for my shooting. Then again I had a M9 Beretta and a SIG DA experience before coming to CZ.

    CZ-75 CTS LP P

When you get bored of it let me know. Not that I can shoot any longer with an infant around the house.

    Sig P320

I wasn't going to get one of these but now I'm sold...
  6. Absofrickenlutely.....if you believe the internet. http://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-NROI-production-gunlist.php "CZ 75 CTS LSP (42.1 oz.)" http://czcustom.com/cz75shadowls-pblk.aspx These bastards at CZ Custom just want to take my fun money. Now if I can just exercise some self control.
  7. That is F I N E...fine.
  8. I've got a CAD file of one if you'd like to base it from....just hit me up.
  9. I had my magwell Type III hard anodized in black and then Ion bonded with the rest of the pistol. It's holding up pretty well but it does have some signs of impact. A stainless version would be nice. If CZ Custom is machining their own "in house", I'm sure for the right amount of cash they could slow their feeds down and put a block of Stainless in their mill for you. Have you given them a call?
  10. No I have not. Could you have been measuring in the same spot relative to the distance from the trigger spring? A flat trigger will allow you to measure further from the pin (lower) which would result in a reduced trigger pull force (torque). I suppose the holes for the pin installation and transfer bar could be produced a little better for your weapon and thus reducing friction.
  11. I've used red loctite in the dove tail and blue for the screw since I got burned at an area match. It's never come loose since.
  12. I've got some Grams followers and springs if you end up doing something like this...just hit me up.
  13. I had posted something like this on Stuart's (CZ Guru) thread on the CZ Forum... http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=44860.15 I've got CAD files as well as a drawing of the serrations up the slide if you want them.
  14. I've put one in without an issue. I was buying the CZ Custom triggers but never really found a need for the screw so these are an excellent alternative.
  15. I take the contoured plastic grips and cover the outside checkered surface with two part epoxy and then shake 120 grit silicon carbide all over them. I go back and forth between these and the large checkered VZ grips. They don't look as blue in "real life" or if the lighting correct (quick pics).

    CZ 75 TS Orange

You would think they'd make it happen for someone who lives in Orange City, FL, eh?

    CZ 75 TS Orange

It looks like they have made improvements. I'd buy one if it wasn't cost prohibitive.
  18. Just prior to seeing daylight.Seriously if you just take the cast Checkering down you still won't be anywhere near danger. Well, yeah. I think it would be a good idea to take that worthless checkering away and do some skateboard tape at the front and back. Just because I´m not such an artist to do such a nice checkering like some here did. Go for it Jay...you are Badisch...you can do anything.
  19. I'm not a handgun designer/engineer but I am an edumacated and practicing Mechanical Engineer for automotive safety components. I'm kind of echoing what's been said, but for whatever it's worth.... To confirm what "mgardner" is seeing, you might try inspecting the broken surface of the slide stop. It could very well indicate where the crack is propagating from (front or back). Sometimes you need a loop, or a microscope to see the beach marks though. Do a Google search on Beach Marks Failure Analysis and check out the articles and images to see what I'm talking about. From the pictures (I can't really tell), it looks like the crack is at the rear (barrel muzzle as forward orientation). Since you have a couple stops you can easily develop a pattern. Based upon your wear marks of the slide stop and the peening of the barrel cam, it's more likely happening in the forward slide motion. My guess is that there are some tolerances on the barrel working against you. This is indicated by the peening of the rearward surfaces of the "kidney". It may be worth having someone at Cajun Gun Works or CZ Custom looking at. The issue might be as simple as some light material removal and polishing in this area, or a new barrel? Just a guess...I'm a tinkerer...not a bonafide gunsmith. Also, for what it's worth, I run a 13lb spring in my CZ, but I have lightened the slide by @ 33 grams (IIRC). I can also run a 12 lb, but I can track better with the 13 lb (based upon the Bill drill exercise to determine muzzle rising or dropping during rapid fire). Ammo is @173 PF 180gr bullets.
  20. Ya, for gaming I use 4.2gr of VV N320 behind a Montana Gold 124gr HP. I've been shooting 4-4.1 behind a Blue Bullet 125 gr. Clays also works pretty good too, but it's not as accurate in my CZs for whatever reason. I just picked up a pound of e3 to try since some people on this forum talk it up. Time will tell....maybe there will be a big container of N320 come in from Finland the day hour minute second I'm on Powder Valley's website.
  21. My most accurate 124gr 9mm load is #7. I use 7.7 grains (lucky 7's eh?). I don't use it for gaming as it has more flip and a little dirty (particles).
  22. I bet if you gave Stuart $14k, he'd work with the guys in their shop to make you something "special". This place is located in a suburb of Stuttgart Germany not far from the Daimler museum. I've tried to make it to his shop in my travels there, but never managed to pull it off when he was open (stupid work meetings) to see if any of his examples are "in shop" (I kinda doubt it though). I like the 1911 style bushings (like David does at Cajun Gun Works) and the Aristocrat sights. The long slide release (@$64) could be interesting as well, but I can't say if I'd be willing to pay the premium. It's more difficult to own numerous pistols in most European countries. These customizable "one gun fits all approach" seem to be more common with the gun guys I've run into. They also throw down good money on their equipment and tend to be people of higher income than in the US.
  23. ...and caution if you are welding. The CZ safeties have a fair bit of porosity. I had to do a fair bit of working to get mine looking right. I would have gladly bought one from CZ Custom but I had the IPSC standard with the tumbler style that wasn't available. After all the trouble, I went back to the stock safeties as my hands would bump the larger style when shooting weak handed.

    CZ 97B 45 acp

Most likely it is a standard stocked item at CZ-USA. http://cz-usa.com/product/cz-97-b-45-acp-black-aluminum-grips-fo-front-sight-10-rd-mags/ I find they can be worked over like the 75B platform and shoot quite well.

    Sight Pusher

I sold all my sight pushers and now have the MGW universal. It works swell.
