  1. Sig 229 here also. Just sent a spare slide put to be machined. I will probably use the 40 S&W barrel rather than the 357SIG
  2. Razor has more elevation and windage adjustment, better lens, is available 3MOA or 6MOA, Take a look at the Vortex site and they allow a comparison http://www.vortexoptics.com/compare
  3. Just in case you need a laugh: Remember it takes a college degree to fly a plane, but only a high school diploma to fix one; a reassurance to those of us who fly routinely in our jobs. After every flight, UPS pilots fill out a form, called a 'gripe sheet,' which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics corrects the problems, document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by UPS pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers. By the way, UPS is the only major airline that has never, ever, had an accident. P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement. S: Almost replaced left inside main tire. * P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough. S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft. * P: Something loose in cockpit. S: Something tightened in cockpit. * P: Dead bugs on windshield. S: Live bugs on back-order. * P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200-feet-per-minute descent. S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground. * P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear. S: Evidence removed. * P: DME volume unbelievably loud. S: DME volume set to more believable level. * P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick. S: That's what friction locks are for. * P: IFF inoperative in OFF mode. S: IFF is always inoperative in OFF mode. * P: Suspected crack in windshield. S: Suspect you're right. * P: Number 3 engine missing. S: Engine found on right wing after brief search. * P: Aircraft handles funny. (I love this one!) S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right and be serious. * P: Target radar hums. S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics. * P: Mouse in cockpit. S: Cat installed. * And the best one for last * P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer. S: Took hammer away from the midget.
  4. Floor seats to NY Knicks. I waited ti see if they did airline tickets too It has happened so many times for various things but card company always catches it which is why I stay with them. I now get a notification as a text for every charge over $1 on my card.
  5. A chance to spend time with my family. That means more to me than anything. At nearly 65 yrs old, there is nothing I need or want other than that. My only regret was only being able to spend time via telephone with my 91yr old Mother.
  6. Have a friend with a white Shepherd that he used tomato juice as a remedy. Ended up with a slightly pink dog that smelled like skunk. Massengill vinegar and water douche. Works great
  7. If you are interested in reports, contact PMD here on the forum, He has first hand experience
  8. http://www.batterybob.com/shopexd.asp?id=5560 I usually buy batteries for most things I need from Batterybob.com
  9. I realize it is not what you are asking but MagNaPort will be of no advantage in minor. Didn't do much on my 357SIG carry gun. YMMV
  10. Bullet hole only has to touch perf, not break it. I'm not sure why you're getting confused about the non scoring border. Most R.O.'s even C.R.O.'s I have seen score have said it has to break the perf. I will have to remember this rule and tab it in my rule book. Thanks Disturbing to say the least. Hmm, I guess we could hit it harder in class. Maybe some slides as examples? Yeah, that's the ticket. Hey, we do that already!!!!! Jay Somebody fell asleep Jay
  11. Send me a PM with your address and I will send you one that may work for you. You will need to get your own spring. gunsprings.com is a good source. I have a couple extras so one or the other should do it. If you can't use them send them back. Only thing it costs you is time and return shipping. I am going out of town for a few days so I will reply Monday when I return I just realized how old this thread was
  12. Several years ago, I shot major with a moon clipped 6 shot 686. I really don't remember the load but it was 160gr bullet in 38spl case using 357DATA. Powder was either Clays or HS6. Having used Titegroup powder, I say stay away from it. Barrel gets too hot and not enough time between stages to cool. I am a strong hand reloader with a lot of feeling loss and very little heat sensitivity in my hands and it still was too hot for me.
  13. Also, Brian, I had trouble with my S5. I spent a little time on the phone with the Verizon help lady and it is all straightened out. I miss my bag phone
  14. Son has the HTC. He is pissed at his buddy the phone sales guy that he pushed the HTC rather than the Galaxy. No SIM would be a negative to me also.
  15. I use the S5 and like it. My Son's girlfriend just got the S6 Edge. Camera (which I use a lot) is more clear, screen is brighter, unit is smaller (I liked that). Cannot replace the battery. I didn't like that at all since I use spare batteries rather than charging the phone itself. I have a battery charger. http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Battery-Charger-Replacement/dp/B00ITI22HY After seeing her phone, I like it and would change if my S5 dies.
  16. "Last year as the Chrono guy at the A7 Championship at the Sig Academy in NH, I had the opportunity to chronograph several different 357SIG factory loads. Various bullet weights and types. All of them made major power factor out of the box." Factory ammo is fine, but what happens when people start loading .357 SIG long to feed better in their large framed pistols? Obviously, 9x25 would fix that, but 9x25 isn't approved. Howz about, for every class other than open, you shoot whatever, as long as it's SAAMI/C.I.P. spec and uses published load data? If it makes major then Bob's your uncle. If you're worried about a capacity race, just cap major at 20 rounds (or whatever their stuffing into 140mmm mags these days), or less if you want to make shooting minor a consideration. I have shot and loaded a great deal of 357SIG and except for now moving toward heavier bullets after this thread, have never seen a problem. I have also never experienced a feed problem. Personally, I have no problem with your suggestions because they are a non issue for me. BUT,if you want to make a rule change, do your research like I did, approach your AD with support (Which I also did) and see what happens. BOD was open to my suggestions and it passed. The process in my case worked. Had they voted it down, I would still think at least I tried. Good luck with your try

  18. The reason behind allowing the 357 Sig and not the 9x25 or 9x23 was the parent case. While the 9x25 does use a 10mm case, there are very few guns and people using it versus a commercially produced round such as the 357Sig. As for the 9x23, it uses a 9mm size case, and therefore would change the game as far as capacity in the guns. The capacity difference between .40/10mm/,357SIG and 9x23 isn't as great as from .45 to .40... When it was decided that ,40 S&W would be the minimum allowable caliber to make major, there weren't any 9mm factory loads that made major (albeit 175 or higher pf in effect at the time) and that was a criteria used for Limited then. Those rules have changed. As far as the 'few guns produced' argument, it's completely moot if we're talking production, and I think it is for limited as well since you can build whatever you want. .357SIG at 165 pf is in the upper end of the pressure window, I don't know if it's better or worse than .40 S&W. 9x25 or 9x23 starting loads are over 165 pf, plus they'd probably feed better in large framed (i.e. S_i 2011) guns. If they're going to open up Limited for 9mm caliber major that's fine, but just .357SIG? I don't get it. Read this thread. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=200647&hl=
  19. Can't ask for more than that. Sounds like it was properly handled.
  20. 320 is offered in 357SIG MATT1, if you could share some starting loads with various powders for the 160gr I will work up some L10 loads for my 226. I have a few thousand 160gr bullets I would like to use
  21. Good luck on this one. They have been discontinued for some time. Watch EBAY as they sometimes show up there but are selling for over $100 each. Best thing to do is post on the Smith & Wesson forum and see what happens. http://smith-wessonforum.com/ http://www.smithandwessonforums.com/
