  1. Saw my surgeon yesterday. I have the start of trigger finger on left ring finger where I had a dupuytren's nodule removed in 2012 and severe trigger thumb right thumb. He injected both which he said is the normal course of action. I got immediate relief in the finger. Today was the first day I didn't have to pry it straight when I woke up. Thumb is better but still not great. Will see him again in 3 weeks. To give you some insight on the surgeon I see here is a link to his MGH page. http://www.massgeneral.org/ortho/doctors/doctor.aspx?id=16525 Read the biography.
  2. Made it up to 24 degrees F today but it snowed again Made the drive to Boston for Doc appointment a little tough. Tomorrow low 30s with 1-3" of snow expected. Boston has a snowfall total so far of approx 95" while Worcester in central MA has a little over 100" Here in the Cape Cod Peninsula, we are at 60" but we have had some melting from rain at times. All in all, it is New England at it's best and I am sick to death of it. I need to visit my 90yr old Mother in Naples FL
  3. 16 degrees with Blizzard warning for tomorrow and Sunday. looking at another foot of snow. http://www.wunderground.com/weather-forecast/US/MA/Harwich.html
  4. Hey Paul, I have had Carpal Tunnel release in both hands and a follow up on the right hand for Median Nerve damage from the first surgery. (Changed Doctors for the second surgery) I am seeing my hand surgeon Tuesday 02-17 to have the new problem of trigger thumb right hand checked. I am on crutches from other surgeries (Been a tough 26 months) and figured the trigger thumb was caused by the crutch grip. I am hoping injections will solve the problem. I will be watching this topic and will update when I have more news. Gary
  5. Made I larf. Gary, those actually sorta work as a radar detector. I could feel a tingle in my wrist when I got near a speed trap. Not that I'm implying you can get away with speeding or anything. Jus' sayin'. Never noticed it with the other 18 screws and 2 plates in the femur. I will need to pay better attention. Left leg is now screwed together top to bottom
  6. Winner winner, chicken dinner. On 12-12-14, I had ankle fusion surgery. On 12-26, spine surgery. Back is Great. Ankle is coming along. I am out of my cast this week and start physical therapy next week. Hoping to be able to start with steel challenge this summer and maybe USPSA by end of year. All this snow in the Northeast, I think I chose the right winter to sit inside
  7. Hopefully this will get me back on the range later this year.

  9. i already have electronic ones so is it even worth using these? I have very sensitive hearing and always use plugs and electronics. It works real well for me. If you have a very warm day and want relief from the muffs while waiting, the plugs still protect you allowing you to take the muffs off.
  10. How about Amazon Europe?? http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_12/278-7203896-0447846?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=surefire%20ear%20defenders&sprefix=surefire+ear%2Caps%2C119 I started using the Surefire plugs when they first came out. I had a friend that was a Surefire rep and after the initial SHOT unavailing, he gave me a box of samples. I mostly use them under electronics but have used them with rim fire ammunition on their own. Initially he recommended a life of 6 months. Since they cost me nothing, I went with it and have never stopped. I notice they seem to degrade over the winter when not used much and I think oils from skin accelerate that. Now, if I see them discolor, i throw them. Hope this helps
  11. And his message from the sideline "2 4 " to the cameras. I guess it was a little premature. I send him this message
  12. I really like what Hans Vang did to my 870 Barrel. Maybe contact him and see what he can do for you. http://www.vangcomp.com/
  13. If things are so bad here, Duane, why did you come here to ask the questions? I took the time to register (it wasn't easy as you know) and to share info as did a couple others. Now, with the tone of your response to Nick and the one above, I am sorry I did and probably won't ever go there again. I started shooting in the early 70s and learned a lot from others over the years. I have always given back when I could and shared my mistakes. I also try never to bash others when I disagree with their approach. Yes, we have a few snarky members on this forum but you find them everywhere on the internet. I have seen the majority here as helpful (at least to me they have been). From Brian all the way down to the newest member, most people here are willing to share their experiences. Too bad you and your "friends" don't seem to see it that way. You can delete my membership on your forum.
  14. From what I am seeing it looks to be a custom set front and rear. #4 = 5.24mm (0.21 inches) #5 = 5.52mm (0.22 inches) #6 = 5.80mm (0.23 inches) #7 = 6.07mm (0.24 inches) #8 = 6.35mm (0.25 inches) #9 = 6.62mm (0.26 inches) #10 = 6.90mm (0.27 inches) Front Sight Heights: #5 = 6.01mm (0.235 inches) #6 = 5.88mm (0.230 inches) #7 = 5.74mm (0.225 inches) #8 = 5.60mm (0.220 inches) #9 = 5.46mm (0.215 inches) #10 = 5.32mm (0.210 inches)
  15. Sent to me by a friend in Florida as related to their local gun board. “If Ad is Still Posted, Gun is Still for Sale” If ad is still posted, gun is still priced to high. "Wife Says Sell" I am tired of being beat up in my own house by a female with a moustache who is bigger than I am, so this gun has to go. “Will Demonstrate at the Range if You Provide the Ammo and Pay the Range Fees” I have never had any ammo for this gun nor have I fired it, and I do not have an extra $5 to go to the range. “Custom Ruger 10/22” I put $500 worth of useless accessories on my 10/22 before I realized it was still going to be a Ruger 10/22 worth $175 when I was done. “Tack Driver” I fired 100 rounds through this gun, and one of them hit the edge of the target. “Highly Sought After” Anyone with $300 already has one. “In Good Shape” Pretend you cannot see the rust and pitting in the photos I posted. “Combat” I played a lot of video games. In fact, I am 58 years old, and I am still playing a lot of video games. “I Am Not Hurting for Money” I am hurting for money. “Trade Value” If you are paying in cash, I want $100 more than my gun is worth. If you want to trade me something for it, I will need a gun worth $200 more than mine. “Need to Sell” I need money, but I am not going to get any by advertising on FGT, because my guns are priced to high. “Need to Sale” Same as above, but I did not attend school past the 5th grade. “Cleaning Out the Safe” I do not own a safe, and here is a list of overpriced garbage I want to sell. “Want to Buy” I cannot afford to buy what I am looking for, but have no problem wasting your time with countless email exchanges while I pretend I can. “Custom AR-15 Rifle” I installed a Chinese Eotech knock-off and $30 laser. “Pre-Ban” A 20 year old rifle with a flash suppresser, identical to the same gun manufactured today. “Battle Rifle” Neither I nor this rifle have ever seen a battle. “Kept in Safe Since New.” I have never owned a safe. “Mint Condition” I have not dropped this one on the concrete steps of my mobile home yet. “My Favorite Gun to Shoot” This gun is .22 caliber, and the only one I can afford to shoot. “Nice AR-15 Pistol” I thought I would be able to hit a 5 foot diameter target at 10 feet. I was wrong. “Recently Appraised” I made up a dollar amount to put in this ad so I can justify my high price. “$___ Worth of Options” I bought a bunch of stupid crap to put on my gun, and there is no way I am ever going to recoup that money. “Fun Gun to Shoot” The people at the range laughed at my pink frame Kel Tec, so I have to get something else. “Excellent Home Defense Weapon” I have a shotgun for sale. “Remarkably Accurate” I tried to hit the State of Florida from 50 yards, and I missed. “Low Round Count” My gun looks good, and there is no way you can tell how much I shot it. “Getting Hard to Find” I want you to think there are not 67 of this same model advertised on Gunbroker for half the price I am asking. “Price is Firm” I will not be selling this gun because it is priced too high. “No Trades” This is usually followed by ‘the only thing I would be interested in trading for is a ______.’ “On the List to be Banned” I have often wondered how some douchebag living in a double-wide trailer in Lake County managed to get his hands on “the list.” Did a BATF agent drop it out of his pocket one night while working undercover trying to insert his tiny manshaft into a sheep so he would be accepted by the neighbors? “No Low Ball Offers” This phrase is used when a FGT moron has his gun priced way to high and is trying to subconsciously convince potential buyers that it is worth twice its actual value. Seller is REALLY going to be disgusted with you if you offer him $200 for his $175 gun that he has advertised for $400. “Furniture” A crafty way of talking about the stocks on a rifle, when a seller wants to present himself as a trendy gun-expert. Kind of like a politician talking about reducing the deficit. Sounds good in a 5 second sound bite, but everyone is still aware he has no idea what he is talking about. “Rare” This means the seller’s Ruger 10/22 with birch stock and Uncle Mike’s $4 sling is somehow worth $100 more than a new one from Wal-Mart. “Unfired” Gun has been shot, but cleaned very well. "Tactical" My High Point Carbine has a 30 round magazine. “Won’t Last Long at this Price” Seller is going to remove the ad in 2 days and keep the gun, because it was priced to high. “BNIB” Advertising your gun as BRAND new in box makes it worth at least $200 more than one that is just NIB. "Going Back in the Safe" "This price is only good for 2 days, then the gun is going back in my safe." So I guess I better hurry up and give you the $850 for your Glock 19 before I miss out on this bargain of a life time, right?
  16. Official Boston snow fall 23" Shrewsbury (central Mass) 30"
  17. About 20 inches here in Harwich today. Hard to tell, 50-75MPH winds blowing it everywhere. The Corgi wishes he had longer legs. Gonna be a bitch walking on crutches the next few days, Looks like I am stuck in to house
  18. I liked the 36 when I had one. If you want a Glock single-stack in 9mm that's 36 like, the M&P shield is the ticket -- points the same and feels like a slightly smaller version of the 36.... Best part -- it's available now! And cheap
  19. Thanks Duane and I responded to your PM. This could be a double edge sword though, I am incapacitated from ankle fusion surgery until April so I have a lot of free time and my airsoft practice only goes so far from the chair
  20. What height is your front sight?
