  1. I am a little late to the party on this. My daily carry is a German P6. A buddy at Sig did Short reset, polished feed ramp and G10 grips a few years ago. I recently added the short trigger . Sights are Trijicon HD night sights which I like. For mags, I have about 10 so I should be set for a while. I bought P225 springs from Wolf and they all function great. The P6 had a noted flaw that it would not feed all ammo. The ramp polish job solved the problem and it feeds anything I put in it. Eventually I plan to sent the frame to ROBAR for NP3+ treatment and the slide to them for Roguard. I like the 2 tone look. Another problem with the P6 is parts are getting more difficult to find according to Sig and the P225 parts are not interchangeable. I am a big fan of 357SIG but not in this gun. Capacity would suffer and even though I have owned and shot a 239 in 357SIG, I don't think this is the right frame for it.
  2. In December of 2008 I began a search for a dog for me. I had specific wants. I wanted a Corgi, had to be a fluffy and I wanted a male. I put out feelers in Corgi groups and a woman from New Jersey pointed me to a breeder in North Carolina. I was given the phone number and I called. The very nice Gentleman I spoke with had a Fluffy 4 month old male Corgi he was trying to place. We corresponded back and forth and first week of June 2009, the little guy took a plane ride from NC to Providence. My Daughter Amanda went with me to pick him up. Kaydin (originally Trevor) was the hit of the baggage area. It took a couple days to change his name from Trevor to Kaydin. As a Welsh dog, I wanted him to have a Welsh name. Kaydin means Warrior/Companion. He was all of that. Over the years, he has become my best friend (Next to my wife) and my shadow. I always joked I should have named him Shadow because he was always wherever I was. Either in front, leading the way or behind herding me where he felt I should be going. In the last few days, Kaydin had an issue three vets had suspected was neck. He was taken to the Foster Hospital for Small Animals at the Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine for diagnosis and treatment. Today I lost my dear friend and companion Kaydin to a rapid moving brain issue. He was the best companion a Man could have and although there was no question he was my Dog, he loved everyone and gave all the attention they deserved. Kaydin, I will miss you. Your buck tooth Corgi smile, your scary blue eye, and the way you always knew what I needed. Play with the Sinclair Dogs that went before you at the Rainbow Bridge and someday, we will cross together. I will miss you forever. Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...
  3. Perfect, congratulations to you and family
  4. I used to train LE for my PD so if you can scare me, you are doing something really wrong. II hate that many I see at my local range scare me.

  6. One of the finest young men I have ever shot with has passed away unexpectedly. An Area 7 shooter and competitor I had the honor to call friend. He will be missed by all. My condolences to his family and friends and to his Brothers and Sisters at the Dedham Mass PD. To his fellow shooters on "Team Bacon" Carry on guys and keep his memory alive.
  7. Until recently I had both. Comparing times loading 9MM on a SDB and on a 550 there was little difference in production. I like the 550 much better and do not shoot as much as I used to so I sold the SDB.
  8. They will be busy shooting the match with other like minded people
  9. Sorry I missed your Birthday, Siggy. Hope it was a great day. You deserve it
  10. The 442 is my pocket gun. Pocket carry with a Mika pocket holster is a good option. Drawback is pocket carry for me has done a job on the finish but pretty doesn's matter t me. It is a tool. 340 was not worth the added price since 357MAG was brutal on the hands with the 15oz gun. My pocket carry 357Mag is a Ruger SP101. Little beefier frame. 638 allows lint etc to get into the hammer channel so for pocket carry that was out for me. The 642 with lazer grips adds the stainless feature which I wish I had kept. Had one less the lazer grips but gave it to my Son. THIS would be my choice with the Mika holster. Worth the wait https://mikaspocketholsters.com/shop/ No familiarity with the Ruger LCR models. Hope this helps
  11. See above, no rehab or PT with this one.
  12. Left ankle was fused in Dec 2014. Three of the four screws were very uncomfortable since they bulged through the skin and rubbed on shoes and boots. 20 minute procedure and a few weeks on crutches while the holes fill in and should be all set. Still have one in ankle, and 18 with 2 plates in femur that are there for life.
  13. Although only ounces, it was nice to get these out of my ankle.
  14. My highest levels were 38. I am now pretty steady at between 8 and 11 now that I gave up weekly indoor gallery shooting with 22lr LEAD ammo. When at my highest, I used an all natural heavy metal cleanse from Cleanse Smart and it worked. My Doc commented whatever I was using was really working well. To help daily, eat bananas and take vitamin C. It helps clean out the lead and other heavy metals. Be careful with your Iron levels as it can lower them also.
  15. Just tell the guy, "Thanks for the help but watch your effing language"
  16. I believe the factory shuts down over the Holidays. (at least they used to) so you will probably be looking at some longer than expected turn around time. Customer Service can probably answer you better
  17. I am not in a chair but I no longer run. Last surgery for a while was just yesterday. When my Orthopedic and hand problems were at their peak a couple years ago, I got a little depressed as far as shooting goes and sold off most of my gear. I regretted it almost immediately. I have set my goal to Steel shooting now with a semi auto since the hand problems limit use of a revolver. I will never be competitive again but I am looking forward to competing again. It is real easy to give advice when it is not me it effects but here goes anyway. If you don't have to, don't sell your gear. If you can just put it away for a little until your attitude changes, do it. Learn by my hasty mistake. I hope you find a game you can enjoy. I know you will regret selling gear and totally leaving. Best of luck to you and as much as everyone will say this, I truly wish you a Happy New Year and hope your range time becomes more enjoyable and frequent.
  18. Trace, how is the reliability with all ammo? Thinking about having work done on a 229 but it is also a carry gun and some of those 357SIG primers are hard
  19. What mags are you using with the TacSol conversion? They offer steel and polymer and Brownell sells a mag they advertise as suitable. I am getting ready to buy so figured I would ask.
  20. Compare the Alumni list with a list of USPSA members for donors or help. You may find some very willing help.
  21. I use SC done by Jim Shanahan at Advanced Performance Shooting. I have his treatment on my Sig 226 and every AR I own. I really like the course texture and it holds up http://advancedperformanceshooting.com/1540-2/
  22. Well, in the Commywealth of Mass, AR15 rifles are a bad thing so Pre Clinton ban ARs are sought after. The little guy has a customized Sendra waiting for him when he is ready with a few preban Colt mags but I will try to collect more for him Thanks to all. This has been a very busy month for us. The arrival of Mason to my Son and then the wedding of my daughter, my wife of 42 years and I are realizing now it was all worth it.
