I carry 2. First is a S&W 49 in a pocket holster. Second is a 2.5" Model 66 with fully tuned action and tritium sights, .500 smooth combat trigger with stop, rubber Hogue grips relieved to properly clear spent brass and speed loaders, and soon to be MagnaPorted (final stage of my project). The 66 is usually carried in an Alessi Hideout IWB Holster which is the most comfortable I have found for this gun. The combo works well for me. Best regards,

My favorite spring set up is the Wolf factory spring with a 15# rebound spring. I shorten the strain screw a little at a time testing with CCI primers. Then I use fully seated Federal primers from that point on. With some good stone work on the trigger hook and the cylinder stop for recovery, this set up works well for me. I would hope that is true, Joe, but were it my revolver, I would check the timing. I have seen some revolvers out of the Performance Center in the last couple years that were not fitted as they should be. Long ratchets was the greatest problem. As far as the other post on customer service, unfortunately not all repair people are as familiar with revolvers as others. Sad, but true. I think I would explain the problem to a Customer Service Rep, ask for Don, and see what he thinks. Best of luck, Gary

Joe, My 625 is an older model and shows no wear. My thought on this is Timing If you are getting lockup so early that you are forcing the hand against the cylinder stop, it could be a problem. Also, check the cylinder stop for razor sharp edges. I usually break the edge when I fit a stop to reduce cylinder line wear and to ad to smoothness of the action. Good to know, but will they hold up for more than a couple matches? I still have most of my original batch of metal clips and can only remember bending one. (Prone does a job on them ) I guess I am just a frugal guy. Paying more than .50 each for moon clips rubs me wrong. With the 300 I have now, I won't be buying any for a looooong time Also, I got an e mail asking where I get my clips. With the prices I have seen, (I don't recall what they were) and the fact they are loose so they can not be used reliably for competition, I will stay with the metal clips. I buy the metal 45ACP moon clips for $20 per 100 shipped. At that price, when they bend beyond repair, I throw them away. In my not so humble opinion, those touting them on those other forums you mention are occasional users and will probably be sorry they bought them. Regards, Gary

As someone who competes (and I use that term loosly) with a revolver, I feel you need to figure reloads very close or you may be short a few rounds. There are times when it makes perfect sense to reload with 2 rounds left in the gun, but with all these 8 round neutral stages, those 2 rounds usually are needed somewhere I usually figure the stage from start to finish rather than reverse as you suggest. I like to end up with un-needed rounds at the end. Your best bet is to make sure you have what you need to finish the course. I have only run dry one time and it was totally mental on my part. I got psyched out by the complexity of the course of fire. My problem on the stage was not reload related it was being mentally handicapped by the course. I have changed my ammo carriers to the doubles that TK Custom cells which allows me to carry 54 rounds with no trouble. It adds to my ability to not worry about running short if I dump a partially loaded clip here or there. It takes one more of the mental aspects out of play. Regards,
