  1. If you are in the Safe area, as soon as you catch the round you are subject to a SQ for handling ammo in a Safe area. 10.5.12 Handling live or dummy ammunition (including practice or training rounds, snap caps and empty cases), loaded magazines or loaded speed loading devices in a Safety Area, or failing to comply with Rule 2.4.1. The word “handling” does not preclude competitors from entering a Safety Area with ammunition in magazines or speed loading devices on their belt, in their pockets or in their range bag, provided the competitor does not physically remove the ammunition, loaded magazines or loaded speed loading devices from their retaining or storage device while within the Safety Area. I would ask the RM for an unused part of the range he would be comfortable with me removing the stuck round Edit to add: I have no idea where the practice of a "Box" in a safe area is being used but I have never seen it. By the rules, 2.4 Safety Areas The host organization is responsible for the construction and placement of a sufficient number of Safety Areas for the match. They should be conveniently placed and easily identified with signs. At level II or higher matches, Safety Areas must include a table with the safe direction and boundaries clearly shown. All safe areas I have seen were the length of a table. Since there is no handling of ammunition, why would a club not do it that way?
  2. Try Winchester Super Field. I find it a very close second to N320.
  3. Thanks dude. Much appreciated. No time to load today or tomorrow by the spacers can be removed from the Metalform if that helps you outAh that is good to know. So are they not welded in, or are you breaking the weld and removing them? Would you need a new follower for that? Not welded in but follower would then be too small.
  4. Thanks dude. Much appreciated. No time to load today or tomorrow by the spacers can be removed from the Metalform if that helps you out
  5. I have 10 Metalform 10 round mags coming from Greg probably tomorrow. When I get a minute I will see if I can load a long 9MM and test the mag for you
  6. There is no 8.2.2.3 unless it is a club rule. 10.6.1 Competitors will be disqualified from a match for conduct which a Range Officer deems to be unsportsmanlike. Examples of unsports-manlike conduct include, but are not limited to, cheating, dishonesty, failing to comply with the reasonable directions of a Match Official, or any behavior likely to bring the sport into disrepute. The Range Master must be notified as soon as possible.
  7. OK let's use this scenario. But unfortunately the guy downrange got injured. Would the RO be covered by any insurance etc? No need. No one saw anything bury the guy in the berm
  8. Congratulations to you and to the others commenting. We will hit 42 in May. (The poor girl had no idea what she was getting into)
  9. As a former chrono guy, when open shooters came to the stage, I had no interest in their 140MM mags. I asked for all big stick mags to be gauged. One guy said I only use one. I asked, how many do you have with you. Answer was three. I said bring them all in case you have a malfunction and need to put another into the mix you know you will be all set. MOST shooters have no problem with that. If someone does, it really sends up a red flag.
  10. BUT, most majors equipment checks take place at Chrono not by rule but by policy and practice. Equipment checks can take place at any stage of a match. A RO at each stage should be taking note of equipment and if he/she thinks there is a problem, they should do a full inspection. Because of time constraints, this is rarely done. To be Devil's advocate, any equipment submitted at chrono for testing (like an oversize mag) is equipment being used in a match. Why would someone submit equipment NOT being used? That makes no sense. (Example would be a shooter that shoots limited and open at different matches grabbing a 170MM legal open mag when they are shooting Limited at chrono. Why would they do that? Mag isn't being used in the match.) Equipment checks for holster position and distance should be completed at random intervals throughout a match. People move things. Accidentally or on purposely, things get moved.
  11. It's interesting because many metal guns with a loaded mag will be so heavy that they actually won't be vertical while in holster. As a result, the measurements between worn and removed would differ pretty significantly. Is it the shooter who decides how he/she wants to measure this distance, or the SO/MD? I would imagine if the rig fails the shooter can ask to remove it and have it remeasured. If it fails after you shot a stage, you get bumped into open. Actually, Open has the same requirement. I believe is is a zero for the stage rather than a bump since it was shot with non compliant gear for all divisions. I say "I believe" because I really don't recall on this one but I am sure it is not a bump.
  12. Me too and I HATE when I go to a customer's house on a Saturday morning, repair their no heat problem, send an invoice, they acknowledge receiving the invoice and 45 days later I am still not paid. My solution now is next time they call, tell them to get someone else. I expect to be paid within 5 days unless you make other arrangements. Also, if you want to negotiate price, do it before I do the work, not after you get the bill
  13. Hope you recover soon. After 5 hand surgeries in the past three years I understand the HATE
  14. This and an observation, I have seen a trend where shooters buy cheap hearing protection from places like Harbor Freight and Home Depot thinking they are getting a deal. Cheaper is not always better. I double up all the time with molded plugs that have filters and Pro Ears. If I find there are exceptionally loud guns like my AR on my squad, I change the plugs to custom without filters under the pro ears. Some guns are louder than others but some people have more sensitive hearing than others. I want to maintain my hearing as long as possible but don't tell my wife. She thinks it has deteriorated a lot over the years
  15. Hard to tell from the video but looks like last footing was out of the shooting area so the bunny hop was just a wasted move. See rules posted above
  16. Happy Birthday Merlin. As Brian wrote, A True Gentleman.
  17. -5F plus wind this morning but it is a bright sunny day and has warmed up to 7F. It's winter guess I will have to put the shorts away for a while
  18. Unfortunately, there is nothing in MA law that allows voiding the sale. What is wrong with it and what is it?
  19. Man, you guys sleep in warm rooms. My wife says I am a furnace at night so bedroom is 60 most of the time and up to 64 for morning shower. We have an innerspring mattress that has a memory foam top. The seller calls it "Best of Both Worlds" It gets hot and the room temp allows me to renove blankets to cool down around 3AM My sleep patterns suck
  20. Really. Haven't heard speed queen since the 70's. And I can honestly say I never even saw a fridgidaire washer. You need to broaden your horizons http://www.speedqueen.com/products/top-load-washers.aspx http://www.frigidaire.com/Washers-Dryers/Washers/
  21. My Son does appliance repair. He recommends Speed Queen first . Then Whirlpool and Frigidaire. Also says stay away from LG and Samsung. When they break, they break expensive and are designed for a life of 5yrs. YMMV
