  4. A long time ago I helped at a match getting donations. What I found was all manufacturers have a budget for competitions. It is distributed from the top on down mostly by usual participation and by when the request was made. By January, most allotments for the following year are made. If you are having a match next year, now is the time to start contacting potential sponsors. Make sure you include a marketing plan that shows you will be advertising the sponsors so their advertising is worth while.
  5. I'm convinced people who appendix carry either 1) never sit down or 2) wear their pants like Steve Urkel. I just don't get how that could possibly be comfortable. It as all about the holster, belt, and exact carry location. Because of right shoulder arthritis, behind the hip became difficult. I searched out holsters that work for me so now I can appendix carry up to and including my Sig P226 comfortably. Most of the time is a P229. All day every day including working in my trade. This is my current favorite https://www.rdrholsters.com/store/display/2199/81/rapid-deployment-holster-sig-sauer I hope to order one of these for my Sig P6 next time they run a sale https://www.rdrholsters.com/store/display/2275/156/the-s-c-a-r-sig-sauer
  6. Saving the box in a good safe place is one more location for the serial number and description if the gun is ever lost or stolen.

  9. For base pads, I just use the Sig padded base pads from Brownell. Currently out of stock. http://www.brownells.com/magazines/handgun-magazines/magazine-parts/magazine-floorplates/magazine-floorplate-padded-high-cap-mags-2-pak-prod21908.aspx To correct 10 round mag problems, I changed all my 10 round mag springs to Wolff +10% springs for 10 round mags and it solved the problem. https://www.gunsprings.com/SIG-SAUER%20(SIGARMS)/P-226/cID1/mID4/dID254#309
  10. Shorten your firing pin spring so it has one or two coils past the end of the pin and then try the 17# spring again. It might solve your problem with the 17#
  11. +1 on the DAA Racer mag holders for USPSA. For IDPA, I ordered three mag holders from Talontactical.com At $17 each, it is the best buy out there.
  12. I use a Burris mount with my Docter dot. but not sure if exact footprint is the same. I have never seen a Burris FF
  13. Median nerve damage repair from a failed Carpal Tunnel surgery. Not as bad as it looks. A little snail slime and almost no scar but I will never be a hand model.
  14. Not pistol related but at a Shotgun match a shooter everyone on the squad knows and likes went to the line leaving his shell vest on a table. The only comments after he loaded from his pocket still not realizing it was "This is gonna be good". No other comments from the gallery until he went to reload. then it was "Forget something?"
  15. I identify with the HATE part, Hop. Good luck
  16. This was a post I made some years ago.Well as things go my Princess left me this morning..She had a cancer in her stomach and could not be operated on. She was only 10 years old and loved by me and my family till the end. I am thankful we had this time together,,I loved that Dog.. Kaydin and I send our most sincere condolences for the loss of your friend. I know the feeling and I know she is better off where she is. Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown..
  17. I have bought at sold here with no issues. I have also used GunBroker for both. My local FFL will not accept any firearms from an individual so I pay a little extra to have a purchase sent from a FFL. i have no problems with this since my local guy transfers to me at no charge, Payment here depends on who I am selling to. If you are a long time member, I will usually take your personal check. If you have less time, I will ask for Certified funds. If you are a one post wonder I will ask for certified funds and wait until they clear. I ship US Postal priority from my FFL to the buyer which is the cheapest and fastest way for me. I always offer a three day inspection with return on the buyer's dime as long as the gun is unfired and not transferred. That means you inspect it at the dealer and make sure you want it before you transfer or fire, If you don't want it, you pay to have the gun returned. Only one gun has ever been returned to me and that was because the buyer's FFL was a dick. They buyer seemed like a great guy but the FFL started bad mouthing the deal and insisted on selling what he had in stock. No problem for me. If you buy or sell on line, communication is the most important part of the deal. Tell people what you have and ask about what you are buying. Remember, you are buying a used item and sometimes what worked perfectly for you may not work perfectly for your buyer. Be polite and understand both sides and you will be fine usually. EDIT TO ADD: after discussion with a couple potential buyers and sellers I have backed out of deals. If I get that "Feeling" about the deal I will not complete it on either side. Some people's questions and some answers make you say WTF in your head.
