  1. I was just going to order some of the TTI basepads but the website won't load. I tried a couple of other browsers but it just isn't there. Can anyone else get it to load?
  2. Micah designed one like that a while ago. Lots of running for 32 shots! LOL
  3. Have they fixed their tendency to fly off on their own yet?
  4. I"m curious about its accuracy.
  5. Anyone got one of these yet? Or even seen one?
  6. Tripp Cobra 10 round 9mm - 2.7 oz. Wilson ETM 10 round 9mm - 2.5 oz. Metalform/springfield 9 round 9mm - I don't have any of these.
  7. I use a progressive cant system..The first is straight, the second is just very slightly canted and 3, 4 and 5 are canted a bit more each. By the time I get to #5 I am reaching back quite a bit and I've found out that, for me, it is easier to draw them out of the pouch. When they were all vertical, I had to reach back, grab the mag, pull up and then start moving it forward. This way I grab the mag and pull forward, one less motion. But that is just my way.
  8. I wear the Rudy Rydon multi laser red. I like how they increase the contrast and make the red FO pop. Indoors I use clear lenses.
  9. And therein lies the problem. In IDPA, there is a difference between taking an extra shot, or two or three, because you're not sure you hit the target decently and taking extra shots so you can get to an empty gun so you can drop the mag and do a faster reload, or reload in a better place. The former is fine, the latter is called "Round Dumping" and can be penalized with a 20 second Failure To Do Right(FTDR) penalty. So, yes. You can take as many shots as you want, but you can't.
  10. Oh, come on, 95* isn't cool enough for you? Not when it comes with 80% humidity at the same time.
  11. What is the percentage of women compared to men in the shooting sports? quite a small percentage I'm sure. How many of those women have the innate ability to become GMs and how many of those are willing, and able, to dedicate the necessary time and resources to bring that ability out?
  12. I can't recall any rule that prohibits it, but then I'm not a rule lawyer either. Can't you magazines hold 11? If so, just put 11 in your first mag.
  13. I stopped myself once at a local match , my second I believe. They let me have a re-shoot that one time. I doubt that I would ever get another one. And I don't plan on taking the chance.
  14. Tripps. I did have to call Virgil and get the old style followers though. My Trojan really didn't like the newer dogleg version.
  15. I would say it depends on what you are shooting. I use one in my STI Trojan 9mm and it works, and feels, great. But that is just one gun and for me.
  16. There have been times when I have done just that. I do the walk through and get my plan set. I hate having to wait to put it in motion.
  17. Well, at the very least, the magazines will be cheaper.
  18. I totally agree with this. I very much enjoy watching how GMs break down and shoot a stage, but being only C class I'm not likely going to be able to do that successfully. There are times when I see someone shoot a stage the exact same way I did, or am planning on doing, but usually I'm all by myself. I have seen others shoot a stage before me and modify my plan a little if they come up with a much better way to shoot part of it.
  19. When using the Tripp 10 rounders with my STI Trojan I have to rack the slide very fast when or the next round will fall out when I am removing the mag. Even then the next round is pulled out somewhat and I have to be careful to not lose it. There was one time when shooting a classifier stage that a round popped out and got caught in the grip preventing me from inserting the next mag. It was very frustrating. I have since moved to a different grip setup so that will never happen again.
  20. You need a good holster, some ammo, at least three magazines w/mag holders and an entry fee for some type of match. Anything else is negotiable.
  21. There are many differences between the two. I started out in IDPA and now shoot USPSA more. In addition the different specific rules there are two main differences. One is in the mindset. IDPA is "defensive" where USPSA is an "offensive." This does not mean that you can't be aggressive in IDPA. You still have to be but in a different way. The second is that IDPA is a lot more structured. There isn't usually a lot of difference between how I would have to shoot a stage and where Bob Vogel would shoot the stage. He just does it so unbelievably better than I do. In USPSA each person can come up with his own plan to shoot each stage, within the rules of course. I have seen others come up with the exact same plan as I did. And others come up with something that I had never considered. This means that you can play to your strengths as much as possible, or at least try to mitigate your weaknesses. Everything being the equal: skill level, skill set, equipment, execution and division, the one who comes up with the better plan would win the stage.
  22. I liked the Ohio Sectional a few weeks ago. They had 4 custom pistols and others for the winners of the divisions. Plus they had a random drawing for one other for each division. Plus they had a drawing for just the staff. The winners get something but everyone has a chance to come home with something as well. Best of both worlds I guess.
