  1. I shot IDPA exclusively for years and then decided to try USPSA. I joined well before my first match. I figured if I'm going to shoot it I ought to be a member.
  2. So, who all is going to the Circleville, Ohio IDPA match this Saturday?
  3. Micah. If you want, I can run you through the classifier during or before the match this Saturday. I am a certified SO and it will be at an affiliated club so it will be kosher. And, I am going back to my Glock for this match and it will be in ESP. No problems there either.
  4. How many people own a 9mm 1911? One that actually works? I've got one! It is the best pistol, for me, that I have ever shot.
  5. I went through this same thing a few years ago. I did seem to shoot the M&P better than the 34. But, I then moved on to an STI Trojan and things got even better for me. It is all about finding the platform that shoots and feels the best for YOU.
  6. I was considering going today but I just can't afford it. Maybe next month.

For me it is an STI Trojan in 9mm.
  8. Thanks for getting the scores out so quickly Chris. I just watched the video of your match and I noticed that I broke down the stages extremely similar to the way you did it. On the swinging bridge stage, only one target was shot in a different order. Granted, you shot them all 3 times faster than me. LOL
  9. Cool man, squad up! Who wouldn't want to squad up with three Grand Masters and a D class shooter :roflol: Heh. That is pretty much the way it was for me. One does learn a lot of good things when shooting with extremely good shooters.
  10. Hmm, A catwalk, , see saw and shakey bridge all on the same stage. Looks fun.
  11. I somehow managed to get 11 rounds in my first magazine once. It didn't work out too well as after the first shot the gun jammed due to a bullet jumping out of the magazine.
  12. One of, if not the, main reason I try and get video of my matches. I notice all sort of things in the video that I didn't notice at the time.
  13. Details? Was it the stage where you have to retreat uprange after activating the swinging targets? That stage is going to send a few people home if they don't keep their muzzle downrange.HH ND. I was doing a reload when I popped off the round in the chamber right into a wall straight downrange. Other than be even more careful, I'm not sure. I'm not really sure what i really did and/or why I did it. I've never, ever had a problem with finger control before.
  14. Okay. This is the video of me shooting the match. Surprisingly, the stage that I had the best overall standing was the first stage with all the movers.
  15. Who says he didn't shoot the last stage ??? I looked again, closer this time. My error. Sorry.
  16. Thanks, Chris. When I first opened the scores, my first thought was how the heck I got 97% of Micah's score. And then I saw that he didn't shoot the last stage and didn't get any points for it. I have to tell you, it was great to shoot in the squad with Bob, Chris, Micah, Kyle and the rest. It is amazing to watch these guys shoot. I don't remember how many times I said "Wow!" to myself or just stood stunned at how talented those guys are.
  17. +1 I totally agree. And Micah did, in fact, remember his cleats.
  18. On Lucky 7 the start position states "unloaded" and holstered per rule book. Is that correct or should it read "loaded" and holstered?
  19. I shot the classifier a few weeks ago and thought I did a pretty good job. I was hoping to make EX or at least get closer to it than I have so far. But then came the math. I couldn't believe I did so poorly. I wasn't even close to my personal best. I was kind of bummed. When I got home I pulled up my other classifiers and saw that while I may have had better accuracy than normal, I was just ssslllloooowwwwwwwwww. It didn't feel that way at the time but the clock doesn't lie.
  20. I'll throw in a couple of oddball tips 1) If you have to place the magazines on a table, make sure the bullets are facing up. That way you can grab them properly before inserting them into the pistol. 2) Chair starts. If the starting position is seated in a chair sit at the very front of the chair with your feet underneath you. Why take time to shift your weight forward and pull your feet underneath you before standing up? Unless, of course, the stage description states that you have to have your back touching the back of the chair. 3) I tend to do moving tactical sequence arrays the opposite of other people. Most people when moving left to right will shoot the targets left to right for the first shot. But, by the last shot, that far left target is much farther away. By shooting it right to left first, all the targets will be closer to you. You can see how what I mean with this . Look at the 30 second mark.4) I almost forgot. When I do table starts, I take the time up front to put the extra mag in the mag holders. Every time I don't I still reach for it there before I remember that is in the vest pocket. That is also shown in the above video at the 45 second mark.
  21. I am thinking about getting a rifle for some 3-gun, multi-gun games. I'd like to get an AR that has a good basic multi-gun set up that I can install improvements over time. Any suggestions?
