  1. First of all, I have only had two ARs in the past and they were of the run of the mill variety that I shot rarely and ended up selling. This is my first PCC and I just got it yesterday afternoon. I have a c-more railway for it but I haven't mounted it yet as I am waiting for the ADM mount to get here Monday. Basically, this is just my very first impressions on the look and feel. I got the red/black 16" barrel w/comp version. Going all black would make it an "evil black rifle" but why be boring? The red isn't really a bright red. It is more of a burnt red. I like it. Besides, I have a red trigger on my STI game gun and my gear was red/black already so having the rifle red/black just made sense. I believe my first remembered coherent though was something like, "Hmm. This is going to be interesting." It looks cool. it feels good to hold. It seems fairly well balanced in my inexperienced hands. The only minor "issue" for me is there is some slight play between the upper and lower. I don't think it will affect anything and could be a typical thing for AR patterned rifles. For a "mil-spec" trigger it doesn't seem bad at all. I am still planning on replacing it for a better one soon, though. Why spend this much on a good gun and not do a trigger job on it? On the paperwork that comes with it, it says that, while it doesn't have a LRBO, it does have a bolt catch. You have to pull the bolt all the way back and then push the catch in and it will hold the bolt back. As for the weight, I don't have a scale to put it on. Sorry. I did do some research after I got it. It comes with a Guntec Ultralight Skeletonized aluminum grip and a Guntec 15" Air light M-Lok handguard. It also looks like the upper is a Guntec upper. If not they look very similar.
  2. I picked it up about an hour ago. I have never owned a firearm with this low of a serial number. LOL
  3. And there it is! Now to get everything else I want for it.
  4. Yeah. I was hoping that one of those was mine. No shipping notification yet though.
  5. Still waiting on mine. Sigh.
  6. Thanks for the ideas everyone. I've got one on the way. Now I just have to wait for the gun to put it on to get here.
  7. hey all. I'm looking to get a c-more railway and was wondering if anyone has recommendations on where to buy it at, best customer service, fast shipping, easy returns, etc.
  8. I PMd CK on FB today and was told the lowers were out getting anodized. They should be back by next week and get shipped soon after. Yeah. I'm anxiously awaiting mine too.
  9. I ordered the 16" barrel version. I am hoping it gets shipped next week. I ate waiting for things. LOL
  10. I am waiting to get my CK Arms PCC and am wondering if anyone here has actually shot one yet?
  11. I was thinking of getting a C-more Railway but 'm not sure if I want the rheostat or click version. Is the click version wort the extra cost?
  12. Here are a couple of pics I got today of the Production PCC.
  13. I also looked for a way to not have to break my grip to eject the mag on my SS gun. I tried the normal extended button. Nope. I got scooped grips so my thumb wasn't fighting to get around the grip panel and that helped a bit. i tried the large round button on top of the extended mag button and that helped a bit. But it wasn't until I got the paddle that I finally solved my problem. I can now drop the mag very easily and don't have to break my grip so my thumb reaches the button. That was the last piece I needed to make the gun exactly how I wanted it.
  14. I could borrow my father's Automag III. Might have some trouble with mag pouches though. That would be a fun, but extremely loud match. Double plug for sure.
  15. Only in IDPA is he a robot. He is beatable in USPSA, but you have to be someone like Nils to do it.
  16. I prefer the red lenses in my Rudy's. But, in the end, it is going to come down to personal choice.
  17. One of the places I used to shoot posted scores online on a webpage that I could copy and save directly into a spreadsheet. I had all the shooters and all the info in a sheet. Doing this I noticed that, while I was as fast as some of those better shooters I was scoring many more points down. I slowed a bit and got better hits and then I started to move up in the ranks. In the end, how you set up the spreadsheet is up to you. What do you really want to track. Rowdy had a good suggestion to look into too.
  18. I have a spreadsheet where you can track match scores in. PD, FTNs, etc. Is that what you are looking for?
  19. I shoot SS and I keep the barney and first mag in the front pocket. I use the barney and put it in the back pocket. I then pull out the first mag from the front pocket and seat that. Voila! Everything is where it is supposed to be. If there is a multi string stage, and there is no ULSC and ICHDH, I just drop the magazine in the gun, insert a new one and holster. Then I can pull the barney out of the back if I want to put it on the belt. It isn't that hard.
  20. CAll or email the match director and ask if they really enforce the "only one match" rule. Most that I have heard of don't. They might not publish scores for non-members or something but they don't usually ban you from shooting the match.
  21. There are three parts to a SLR, the mag release, inserting the new magazine and releasing the slide. You need to figure out how you can hit that mag button easier. I started with grips that have scoops in them so my thumb can get closer to the button without twisting the gun. That helped a lot but not enough. I then installed a larger, extended mag button. That helped even more but still not quite enough. I now have a paddle button that extends backwards toward the grips. I have yet to use it in a match but, in practice, it does make it where I don't have to change my grip every time. The next part is hitting that reload. Mag wells do help. I like ones that go all the way around. I use a Techwell currently. I have used the S&A and the ICE previously. One corollary to this is getting a proper grip on the new magazine to insert it quickly. If you get a bad grip you will still have problems. This last is what I am still having problems with. As for releasing the slide, there are various methods. You can hit the slide release with the strong hand thumb. You can use a form of slingshot. You can also use the weak hand thumb to release it. I prefer the weak hand thumb. I insert the mag and when I am rolling up my hand to get the grip, my thumb presses down on the slide release then continues forward to it resting place. For me this is the fastest and easiest method I have used since I started shooting 1911s. Eventually, it will all come down to personal preference. You have to try out different gear and techniques to find which works best for you.
