  1. Typically I have seen this happen with many USPSA shooters who come to shoot 3-gun. Holster is set for USPSA fast draw and they don't check the retention. Many 3-gun stages where the pistol is last gun to shoot and much running/positions involved between rifle/shotgun portion of stage. Doesn't happen at USPSA matches, 99.9% of the time you draw at the start. We all have retention straps and ways to lock pistol into holster or it is typical to not load the pistol until you reach that portion of the stage. I know many shooters who have similar style holsters that have external knobs/wing nuts on the adjusting screws to retain the pistol. Really not needed in USPSA. gerritm
  2. I had an RTS-2 that I had bought used on my open gun for quite awhile. Switched it to a Ruger 10/22 SC rifle. Started having zero issues with it on the rifle. Would shoot fine then be way off. Thought it was me. After a couple of bad stages, went to the range & tried re-zeroing it at 12 yards. 1 shot would be right on next would be 4 inches low. Shot maybe 25 rounds and looked like I was shooting a shotgun. Sent it back to C-more. They had it about 2 weeks and I got an email with shipping tracking and a phone call from their tech. He asked me the history and I told him that it was bought used and on an open gun then a SC .22. He asked if it had ever been on a CO gun due to the fact that there was marks on the edges of the sight where it had been bouncing against a frame and had been loose. Told him no when I have had it never on CO. He said the glass was loose and that was why it would work 1 time and off the next and it was not repairable. He said no problem and they replaced the unit no charge and NC for shipping. Love great CS.
  3. Guess something I don't understand being a 3-gun and USPSA shooter. Have seen many a pistol of all brands go flying out of the holster in 3-gun first thing we all do before a match is check for retention. Not going to win the stage or match on the draw if there is enough retention to keep it from falling out on a hard movement. Grant it doesn't need to be so tight you can go prone, but has to be tight enough to keep from falling out when bending over to pick up steel or reset. We shoot a CZ and have a wing nut or button on each holster screw to set tension before the match. Light for USPSA and heavy for 3-gun. gerritm
  4. You will be happy, did 2 of them for my SX3's before I went to open. gerritm
  5. We run Taccom bolts and 3-stage buffers in both of our PCC's with weights out. I have tried all different weight bullets from 100's to 147's. Really liked the 95/100 the best, but always had a few issues loading them. Have settled on 115's RN both plated & coated over 3.8grs of Titegroup. We both like the faster bolt cycle and less dot bounce. Doubles regular are almost 1 hole. Zero at 25 yards and shoot a quarter sized hole. gerritm
  6. Same here, I generally don't buy ammo or reloading components locally and haven't for many years. Didn't and wouldn't buy any last night. More curious what others are finding. Tough to find online now at all. gerritm
  7. We shot a small indoor USPSA match last night at a high end, very nice public/member range. Walked around to check what they has in ammo. Found .223 55gr range type ammo in 100 rounds boxes in stock limit 2 to non-members @ $79.95 per box. Also found 9mm 124gr RN in 50 round boxes for $39.95. I know ammo cost has skyrocked like I have never seen before. Being on a few mailing lists have found .223 online when available for about .60 per round in 1K cases. Double the cost. Understand supply & demand, but curious what have you found locally, if available at all? I also know depending on the results of the election it could get even worse. Is this high cost due solely to supply & demand because of Chinese Bat Flu/election fears or is it that the ammo manufacturers raising the price to the suppliers? Combination? gerritm
  8. Would like to try them for sure, but would need to test them before ordering any kind of large quantity. Every gun is different depending on powder, primer, etc. Have no problem with the $20 shipping for the large box, but that is steep for a small priority mail box with 500-1K that I get from several others either with free shipping or right around $9. I always buy at least 500 for my tests, due to us trying them in several different guns. Small sample packs don't cut it. gerritm
  9. Was going to try a box of 500 before I place a larger order to see how they worked. But $20 shipping charge is ridiculous. Many others with more reasonable or free shipping. Generally if shipping is not free around $8-9 shipped for this size box in a priority mail small box. Just as a side note I have been shooting another brand of polymer coated bullets thru my PCC with Titegroup with no leading at all at the comp. Did notice a little carbon build up, but that is it after about 5K rounds. I am experimenting with the same polymer coated bullets in my open major gun this weekend loaded with HS6 making about 170PF. Will see if they lead the comp. I have tried several other coated brands in the past for major and had considerable leading in comp with them. gerritm
  10. This .22 Ruger Target Lite is now as bullet proof as possible and runs 99.1% or time. I polished everything that I could do. Including the few parts that I installed from first post I put a Kidd Charging handle rod & recoil spring combo. This seemed to cure most of the double feeds & smooth out the action. Still shooting the original 10 round mags & all I did to those was take off the sharp edges. Gun now has probably 7-10K rounds and I use CCI mini mag ammo. It does not like the Ruger BX 25 mags, but runs as close to 100% as a .22 can with standard 10 rounders and the BX-15 mags. I never say 100% because it would jinx it and it is a .22. gerritm
  11. Have had Aftec's in a couple of my open guns with spotty luck. Have been running a Brazos custom Tuned extractor for awhile now with no problems. All I had to do for the install was put the tension bend in it. gerritm
  12. All of the minor load PCC's & pistols work, including the Taccom & CZ with .355 115/124gr RN plated/FMJ loaded to at least 1.12/1.13, have never gone that far out to 1.15. I have used 115s up until a few months ago for all 6 guns. Only had to start loading shorter due to the bullet shortage & started using coated .356 RN 124's @ 1.09/1.10 OAL. They have a fatter profile. So reason behind plunk testing & finding the right OAL that works. My open major is totally different and loaded to 1.16 with .355-124 JHP. Guess I could have reamed them, but never had a need until recently. So if you change bullet profile, weight, diameter, or coating, plunk check the barrel to make sure they will work. gerritm
  13. We do this. Pickiest gun is a CZ75, next is a Taccom PCC barrel. Between the 3 of us we have 3 different pistols & 3 different 9mm PCC's. Depending on bullet weight and profile I plunk tested until I found what would work in all of them. Load all the same with no problems. gerritm
  14. Don't know about the Tavor, but I have a buddy who shoots a CZ Scorpion and made M with it. Runs great only problem I have ever seen is with getting a mag extension coupling strait so it fed reliably. Ran great with stock mags. gerritm
  15. We have Taccom FP's in both of our PCCs after breaking several other brands including a JP. Thousands of rounds on them. gerritm
  16. Worked fine in my DVC with a major load of HS6. Only problem I had was it leaded up the comp. Accuracy was good. gerritm
  17. We shot a major PCC match a few years ago with only steel targets. We were walking on a gravel road to the next stage when my buddy felt a sting on his leg and stopped to look and a piece of brass was stuck in his leg. Have no idea where it came from. Caused it to bleed slightly. But could have been bad in an eye or face. So reason why we wear eye pro all the time. Have seen many frags over the years in arms, faces, & legs. gerritm
  18. I have a Mark III 22/45 Lite that I put together for my granddaughter. Took the loaded chamber indicator out, which helped, but still had occasional failures. Then swapped out the bolt to a Volquartsen and stayed with CCi mini mags, still had a few failures. Swapped the mag springs out with the stiffer TK ones and and it now runs 99.9%. I have tried other ammo for practice and as long as it is a higher FPS it seems to work fine, but for SC matches she only shoots the CCI. Stick with what works in matches. gerritm
  19. I have a buddy who occasionally shoots PCC and was having this same type of feeding issue. He modified his barrel like the picture with a dremel & polishing and pretty much cured the feeding problem. I just put the Taccom feed ramp in to solve it. Our 2 PCC's have shot thousands of rounds now with no feeding problems. Best $20 I spent since building & shooting PCC's. gerritm
  20. I think we have it figured out what we will use. SCS is definitely a must for recoil. I have one in my rifle. Weight/balance will be towards the stock. This is not a race gun for now. She has shot her dad's heavy tactical type AR and is looking for one of her own that she can handle. It will be close to what I built for Juliann and you know how well she can handle a rifle & PCC. I have used Faxon barrels on my rifle and a LW I built for another friend. Thanks for all the help. gerritm
  21. I am putting together a lightweight, low recoil, AR15 for a 12 YO tall, but light, left handed girl. This is just a fun gun, not competition, yet. Has shot regular AR's and wants her own. Doesn't need to be left hand ejection, but ambi safety & mag release. Know what components I want to use for most parts including a lightweight 14.5 pinned barrel. If it was a PCC, I have built a couple of those around 5#. I know exactly what I would would build. Have built several lighter AR's, but never this light. Looking for ideas on a lightweight Upper & lower. Gibbz has one that looks interesting, but it is a side charger. Want to have it Cerakoted. Any others. Does not have to be super light. Have found several forged & billet that are standard weight. hanks for the ideas, gerritm
  22. Thanks, nope open gun now is 9mm. Amazing what you find when you dig through your reloading stuff. PCC is a JP barrel and pretty much shoots anything and not worried about the PF. I have plenty of bullets for the open gun and very happy with the load so PCC it is. gerritm
  23. Found some .356 RN FMJ 125gr 38 super bullets from my old DVC loads. I shoot 124gr .356 coated in my PCC with no problems. Any reason not to use them up? gerritm
  24. Shot a local SC match and a shooter in the squad in front of us had a brand new Zev Glock with matching brand new ETS mags with great looking mag extensions. Everything looked great together until he shot the first stage and the gun wouldn't function. After borrowing tools and taking it all apart realized that the ETS mags were over inserting and jamming it. Borrowed a couple of stock Glock mags and all went well. gerritm
  25. We shot an entire outdoor PCC hoser match with these. Sucked, got shot up really fast hard to hang, hard to score, and no one knew that was going to be the targets. Wasn't too bad for PCC, but would be tough on iron sight shooters. Ok to mix a few in for fun only. gerritm
