  1. We have one with the Forest Camo stock. Love it. Runs 99.9% on CCI Mini mags. Have shot several thousand rounds with only 1 or 2 ammo malfunctions. Clean it every 2 or 3 SC matches. Have not done anything to it. Not even pulled the bolt out. Hated the flush mag release. With the squareish trigger guard most after market mag releases may work, but will not look right. I had a stock one from another Ruger 10/22 laying around that I had replaced with an extended one. The stock one works great. Sticks out just far enough that it is very easy to use. Looks good, too. gerritm
  2. So I loaded up 25 round test batch of coated for minor to shoot in my PCC & CZ. Used my normal load & OAL of 1.12 with 124gr -- .356 coated bullets. Normally use .355 plated or FMJ. Case gauged them & plunk tested in my JP PCC barrel, but not CZ Felt tight, but OK. Took both CZ & PCC out to test and check zero. Ran fine in the PCC, but stuck several in the CZ chamber. About 75% of the rounds chambered & fired in the CZ, but others would not chamber/fire & had to be forced out to eject. Very accurate, but moral of the story is check them in all guns barrels. Glad it was testing & not a match. Reran them at 1.11 and all plunk tested in both. gerritm
  3. Generally, with Prairie Storm it really doesn't matter. If hit solid all it takes is one or 2 shots. If you have a light load to burn, get it moving and then hit the opposite with the PS load. gerritm
  4. Same here with all the same triggers but have only had the PCC break. Probably not as many rounds on the AR triggers and with 5 or 6 50 round hoser stages at matches and replacing shotgun & pistol @ UML matches PCC's are probably run much harder, dirtier, hotter, & longer at one time. First trigger probably had 30K or more on it, not sure this time how many. gerritm
  5. I had even painted the tube and other than a few chips at the very end nothing. gerritm
  6. I shoot PCC almost exclusively in USPSA & UML 3-gun. Many thousands of rounds each year and have broken 2 trigger springs in the last couple of years. Not going to bash the brand cause their CS has been excellent and have replaced them in a timely fashion no questions asked with a lifetime warranty. They are drop in. Been running PCC since day 1 in USPSA due to a hand injury that stopped me from shooting open. When we first started shooting PCC's several years ago, I tried almost all the top trigger brands and prefer this one. Since then many new PCC only triggers are out. We also run them in our 3-gun AR's. Have never had an issue in the AR's. We have 5 total. My PCC is of very good quality parts with a top brand billet lower, BCG, & buffer/recoil system. No slop or play in the trigger pin holes and line up exactly where they should. Use quality trigger pins. Run my 115gr plated load right at minor PF. Clean the gun after almost every match. Seems to be only an issue with 1 of the 2 PCC's we run, but the second one doesn't have quite as many rounds. We have same trigger, BCG, & buffer in it. Different barrels, but both top brands, upper, & lower are different brands, also. I have heard blow back PCC's are hard on triggers. Any feedback? gerritm
  7. Shot one for several years in USPSA & UML 3-gun dumping it many times. If you are talking about the pinned aluminum housing it will not be a problem. No damage after thousands of rounds and many matches. gerritm
  8. Figured it out last night. The light taper crimp on the Lee seating die that closes up the bell is just enough to hold the bullet and not strip the coating off or leave a deep groove. Pulled a couple and they looked good. Not really concerned with the measurement of the crimp. More concerned that the coating is staying on the bullet and their is enough tension to hold it. Here is what Lee says their die does if adjusted properly. There are two crimp shoulders in our pistol Bullet Seating Dies. The first shoulder applies a slight taper crimp and the second shoulder applies a full roll crimp. The closer the die is adjusted to the shell holder the heavier the crimp will be.
  9. I load 9mm plated & JHP's for both major & minor using a Lee seating die & Lee factory crimp die. I usually put a light crimp and have no problems with accuracy. I pull a few just to make sure the crimp is correct. Been awhile since I loaded coated bullets. These are for minor loads with Titegroup. Eggleston recommends a light taper crimp for their 124gr .356 bullets. Question? Is the taper crimp that the Lee seating die adequate for these coated bullets without using the crimp die, too? I have the bell enough to seat the bullet with no shaving and put a very light crimp with the factory crimp die, but when I went to pull them to check it seems even with it set very light to be too much. Made 20 or so to test, have not shot them, yet. Case gauged them and plunk tested. gerritm
  10. If you are shooting Glock mags my 2 MBX Mega extensions set up right will reliably hold 57 rounds gerritm
  11. Got a cover for my RTS2, really nice. Probably going to order some others. gerritm
  12. We regularly have PCC hoser matches locally with 40-50 rounds per stage and some local outlaw matches with same high round counts. Also we both shoot UML 3-gun 2x4 and can shoot most of the stage with PCC eliminating some rifle, SG, or pistol. Plus I can & hate to reload. gerritm
  13. Seen this twice, both sponsored shooters at major 3-gun matches. Both were traveling from far away, plane rides, hotel, entry fees, ammo, very large investments to get there. Plus satisfying their sponsors. First stage of 3 day match, first movement shooting rifle, pistol holstered, shotgun staged. After shooting rifle at first group of targets took off to second position at a dead run and loaded pistol popped out of holster. Immediate DQ, no argument. One shooter had to stay because he was traveling with another, he taped & helped out. Other made arrangements and flew home. Both shooters said the same thing, that they had been shooting USPSA & loosened their holster up with no real running involved and forgot to tighten it. Sucks, but that is the rules. Must stay safe. gerritm
  14. Just looking ahead. Ordered MG's the other day. But the way I see this, here in SE Texas, the shooting sports look like they will be opening up shortly. Once it does across the country if there is a shortage now, it is going to get worse as things open up. Good to have an alternative if the shortage gets worse. I load for 3 of us so go through a lot of bullets. Probably will use the coated just for PCC & limited minor and the JHP's for major. Good to have a backup plan. gerritm
  15. Not with the 3-stage Taccom buffer. I have thousands of rounds and a couple of years on our 2 PCCs with these installed in both and just pulled them the other day to clean, lightly oil, & check for wear. Both looked perfect as the day they were first installed. Mine has the weight out and hers weight in. No difference. Love these set ups. gerritm
  16. I had the same issue with the CMC trigger reset on my PCC & removed the same spacers & have zero reset issues. Try the BCG without the weight. I prefer it out in mine, feels softer, less bounce at least with my ammo. I run 115 & 124's right at minor PF. Just experimented with & without the weight a few days ago. We have that same barrel watch your OAL for failures. We had a series of random failures when we first got it and I realized I had not reset my OAL from some major ammo. It was at 1.16-1.17. Went back to my normal 1.12 & the failures stopped. gerritm
  17. I am going to make 100 or so and see how they work. gerritm
  18. Understand, that is my feeling, but Texas is starting to open up and I didn't get my order in soon enough. Not out, but just thinking for the short span until I get my regular bullets. I have found a few places to get JHP or even FMJ, but always trying to think ahead. Not for the long run. gerritm
  19. I have used Blue bullets, SNS, & Eggleston in the past for PCC minor and had some lead issues in my comp. Probably due to the powder (Titegroup) and running right at minor PF. But what about HS6 and 1400 fps. I know just a light crimp to hold bullet. The lead problem was manageable. Used a pick & dremel. gerritm
  20. Starting to run out of my normal 9mm 124gr JHP bullets. I have used coated before for minor PF. Can't seem to find info on how they work for open major.Several of the coated bullet manufacturers give their specs at 2400fps max. I would be around 1400fps for a 124/125gr. I know leading in the comp may be an issue. Just curious as a backup. gerritm
  21. We shoot a standard bolt with the Taccom barrel. I think it is a Spinta or New Frontier. Have shot both in it. Weight is in, nothing cut special. Works great with a CMC PCC trigger. She has shot a lot of rounds thru it since getting it about a year ago with no malfunctions. She smokes most of us with PCC and is transitioning to my open gun. Up until the Corona thing we shoot every weekend. gerritm
  22. My wife's car is now getting 3-weeks to the gallon. The garbage man left an AA brochure on my can. Trying to tell us something? gerritm
  23. I am running them @ roughly 1400fps & 174PF. gerritm
  24. After seeing it, really nice, but not sure it is any nicer than a Honcho. Not that fancy, not sure it was worth the wait & price. Doesn't shoot any different or better than my CK Hardcore. gerritm
  25. Not sure if it will make you guys feel any better about the wait, but one of my shooting buddies just got his new open gun from a well know builder after 18 months, not weeks. gerritm
