  1. Not sure how USPSA club rules trump local range rules. At these ranges it is not the USPSA club but the range that makes these rules. This goes for all matches held, not just USPSA. So good luck arguing this with the local range Safety Officer that cruises the range and parking lot to enforce their rules. So what you are all saying is that all I have to say is I am here for the USPSA match and your range rules don't matter or apply? This is not the club tossing you it is the range. Is it really worth this instead of walking 50' to the range supplied safe table to handle your firearms? As far as I am concerned it pays to know the local range rules as well as USPSA rules. gerritm
  2. This. Just get the 9mm collett. Picked a couple up at Midway a week or so ago. I have the same problem. A whole ammo can full of 9mm rounds I collected over the years. Why waste them. Been pulling them and running thru my 650 with the decapper out of the first die to make sure they are sized. gerritm
  3. So several, but not all of these ranges that host USPSA matches have a general rule that there is no gun (Long gun or pistol) handling casing or un-casing in the parking lots or vehicles to prevent accidents and are patrolled by their own SO's. All handling of weapons must be at a range authorized permanent safe table or on the shooting line based on their range rules not USPSA rules. So am I going to violate this and tell the range official that because I am here for a USPSA match and not sure if their rule is USPSA local approved is it going to matter? Doesn't matter why you are at the range that rule stands for everyone. Would I technically be DQ'ed, not exactly, but asked to leave the range or have my membership revoked, yes. gerritm
  4. I am a PCC shooter by default due to an eye and finger injury. Love to go back to open. But being DQ'ed by a local range official may not be under USPSA rules is still a DQ. I really don't want to make the local SO's mad at ranges I shoot at monthly. Most are good people, not range nazis, and pretty sure a new or out of towner would be schooled in their rules, not sent home. I am good with this local rule anyways, have seen some crazy gun handling in the parking lots of outlaw matches watching someone wave a rifle around, and not knowing if it is loaded or not. gerritm
  5. Did you all notice how I worded it. Local Ranges rules require us to use a safe table and not case or un-case at our vehicles. You all can argue the validity of this, but I will continue to follow what they require. Safe tables and berms when under supervision to come to the line still applies along with flags and no sweeping. gerritm
  6. Not sure where you shoot that allows handling your uncased PCC in the parking lot or other places on the range, but here all of the ranges we shoot USPSA require us to go to a safe table to case or uncase our PCC's to put on our carts or to bring to the line against a berm or safe table. If caught doing it in a parking lot you would be DQ'ed. Handling a PCC anywhere on these USPSA ranges, but a safe table is a DQ. Now outlaw 3-gun and other matches the parking lots are fair game. gerritm
  7. Yes it was and with all the options to shoot if gives you a choice to shoot what you have the most ammo. Sounds like with future plans it is only going to get better. I bought this one already built. Did a good job judging on how it ran. If I bought one that was not done already I was going to send it to Hayes. Should get yours back in plenty of time. Figured out how to fix my old mags so they seat. Always good to have a 24 rounder in the mix. gerritm
  8. My granddaughter ran the new to us VR80 in the Dissident falling steel match. After sorting out a few problems with my old MKA mags that would not seat. We used a couple of 19 round RIA and my old Firebird mags, it ran perfect rest of the day. Screwed her on the first stage of the day. Used 1145 & 1200 Winn AA. Gun was super soft and we were surprised how fast she ran the trigger. Softer than my MKA. She is still having problems seating the reload mag. Download it several rounds. Her hands aren't big enough. Working on a reloading techniques to help. Great new match, going to get better and will be a regular monthly match. gerritm
  9. I have a shooting buddy who has one and has shot a few USPSA matches in open. He is a GM and shot it well very flat & fast, but guessing anything he shoots would be fast. Probably shot minor ammo. This would be a great open 3-gun minor pistol, but not USPSA. Buy a real open major gun. gerritm
  10. Put 2 of the Taccom adjustable recoil systems in 2 different PCC's I built and the BHO work. I used Taccom SS bolts with these. They come with different pre-load rings & SS cushions/bumpers and depending on how you set it up the BHO may not work. gerritm
  11. The matches here in the Houston area, participation and round counts have definitely slowed. Weekday evening practice matches have way fewer participants, some cancelled. We shoot all year round and there are matches every weekend within an hour or 2. Weekend matches are down to around 100-150 rounds. Depending on the quality of the match, some are still full with wait lists. Most are online registration only. No walk ups. Social distancing is encouraged. No mandatory masks outside. Some have cancelled shooters meeting just relying on the experienced shooters to educate the newbies. Most of the regular shooters who reload are still shooting, but we have 3 of us that shoot so we are cutting way back on USPSA, shooting more SC & outlaw shotgun or .22 matches. 2 of the best local USPSA matches are this weekend and will probably be full. Will see how or if the round counts change. gerritm
  12. I have witness marks on the rest. This being behind and kinda hidden didn't notice.
  13. Had the same experience with the Citori. When I lived up north I shot many pheasants with my trusty Ithaca Pump. Came down south and shot a couple of company trade competitions at the top trap & skeet club in the area. Took the Ithaca out and did well shooting trap, but what a difference shooting my buddies Citori. Fell in love with it but could never justify buying one for my few trips to the trap clubs. You will not regret getting one. gerritm
  14. I use a Dillon size/decap die and have for many many rounds with no issues. I use their lock nuts. Periodically check it for depth & tightness. Well I didn't for awhile. Usually catch any problems when I case gauge all rounds. The die had loosened up and was allowing a slight bulge on some at the bottom near the rim. Guessing they were the Glock bulge cases. When I case gauged they dropped in with just the slightest amount not falling completely down. Got sloppy mainly cause it was so random. Will shoot fine in my JP barrel pcc & STI 3-gun, but the 2 CZ's & Taccom barrel PCC with tighter chamber would not seat and were really tough to extract. Caught this during practice so no harm done. Funny thing I also plunk test the rounds in the CZ's and all I did were good. Re-adjusted & I put an extra nut on the bottom to prevent this. Also did this on the powder die that seems to move pretty regular. Something to keep an eye on. gerritm
  15. We shot PCC last time, but running out of pistol/pcc ammo so still plenty of shotgun shells still available. Besides shooting steel with a shotgun is a blast. gerritm
  16. Here is our new to us VR80 with the following mods. Taccom extended bolt, mag release, buffer, comp, T&N Flat trigger, & Advance Tactical mag well. Initial testing & zero ran 1145 & 1200FPS Win AA. Zero @ 50 yards Fiocchi low and medium recoil slugs out of my old T&N tuned mags perfect. Put an RTS2 6moa optic on it. Have a couple of 3-gun & shotgun matches coming up to really test. My granddaughter will be shooting it. gerritm
  17. Look online at some of the smaller ammo manufacturers and get on their mailing list or FB page. They are all making ammo if you are willing to pay. Mostly 9mm. Need to buy as soon as it comes available as it sells out fast and they only make a limited supply. Yes, even shotgun shells are getting scarce. gerritm

    Accushadow Parts?

We have a CZ-75 SP01 and just got an Accushadow. When looking for parts in Cajun or CZ Custom, doesn't really list it separate. So what model parts fit. Looking for a bigger safety and possibly a straight DA/SA trigger. Thanks, Gerrit
  19. Problem I have found is that most MD's are right handed and tend to set stages up that favor righties especially pistol. I have run across several stages that you literally couldn't shoot a target left handed without switching shoulders, but would not have been any problem for a right handed PCC or pistol shooter. The good thing for me is due to an eye injury I shoot PCC left & pistol right so I am used to seeing the stages from both directions and planning. gerritm
  20. I am a lefty and unless there is an advantage I tend to run right to left only because the the PCC naturally faces downrange. I really don't have to think about it when going around walls or obstacles. Left to right I have to make sure where it is pointed. gerritm
  21. Any experience with the bake on type. I have used the regular spray on mix with OK results. Want to do an AR upper & lower. It is in the raw now. gerritm
  22. I cull all Xtreme brass whether it is stepped or not. I have had several of these split like this and they were not stepped. gerritm
  23. I actually made one out of a TK Fireswitch extended mag release. Works fine for now. With the ammo shortage we have been shooting more .22 run & gun matches and the button release wasn't cutting it. Tried a stock Ruger 10/22 release and it was better. This was a rough fitting, tried it in a couple of SC matches to make sure it held the mags tight & in place. Still need to re-finish it. gerritm
  24. Had one. It was spotty for reliability. Changed springs, polished, everything we could. Experimented with ammo. Never could get it to run reliably. Sold it and got a Benelli. If you can deal with the occasional malfunction, we couldn't because it was for 3-gun, otherwise it was OK for the price. gerritm
  25. I ran a C-More railway on my T&N MKA1919 for years and lots of rounds with no issues. Can get dots/modules up to 16MOA. Just a thought if you can't find one. gerritm
