Just wondering about switching back and fourth with the same weight bullet but HP vs CMJ. For example Montana Gold 115 HP vs 115 CMJ - does the load, power factor, velocity stay the same when just switching styles of bullet or is there a different amount of contact surface between the bullet and barrel to notice differences in performance, recoil or dot movement? Any advantages to using one over the other?

Anyone have a romeo and DPP or RTS2 for a side by side comparison? I reallly tried to like the DPP but switched back to the RTS2 because of the center glass height

I'd like to give zzt a gold star. This makes sense. And the two guns I have done some experiments with are both 9s with pop holes. The majority of my testing in a turbo comped limcat. I can tell a difference in bullet weight but powders didn't seem to make any noticeable difference when shooting loads back to back... Thank you!

Those that have deemed one powder to shoot softer than another what is your criteria for picking hard vs soft feeling. I have been chasing this and tried some different loads. What I find is if the PF and bullet is the same I have a hard time telling which load is which. I think if I had not loaded the mags and known which load I was shooting I could not distinguish one powders recoil from the other. What am I missing?

I am thinking of having the upper and lower receiver cerakoted. Looking at disassembling all the parts and have a few concerns. While its a little different than an AR I think I see what needs done. I am just wondering anyone has any words of wisdom that can keep me from learning something the hard way for once? Thanks Andrew

I use the lee under sized die and I can feel when one of the stepped cases gets thru. It takes twice the force to size the stepped brass. I pull them before priming and pitch in the garbage. -
They changed my battery tray doing the V3 board upgrade. The V2 tray was open and round exposing the majority of the battery. The V3 had a solid bottom with a small square cut out in the middle of the tray. V4 board upgrade comes with a tray like V2.

The original V2 was kind of loose. Sent mine in for the V3 upgrade and was super tight. I destroyed my battery tray too. Sent in again for V4 and all is well. So far

I run my vibration around 50-60 percent I guess. I do experience the same issue as you occasionally. I'd guess once per 500 or so. When it shuts off if there are still primers on the vibration surface I know it jammed. I remove primer tube and with a small screw driver press the stuck primer up instead of disassembling the top cover. The stuck primers are always sideways and once sitting straight drop right out. Definitely annoying but I still like it better than using the primer pick up tubes.

Why? I have the dillon primer filler and use WSR without issue. What happens for you?

Anyone have loading data that shows using magnum or rifle primers change the velocity if everything else in the load stays the same - powder charge bullet weight and seating depth? My experimentation I have not noticed much if any difference in velocity between different primers. Just the mag and rifle primer have thicker cups for higher chamber pressure. I use Win SRP with zero ignition issues in 9 major

Doing some load development I asked the builder of my open gun about 115's. Since he also shot IPSC all he used were 124's. But did suggest 115 would get me increased slide velocity. I am leaning toward liking the 115's better but require more tinkering before getting there. Without a blind taste test so to speak it is a little hard to be objective...

The only other thing that can help single it down to the gun - try some factory ammo and see if it preforms the same as your major loads...

OK here's my last witch craft thing I can think of Is the trigger pull weight consistent no matter how the hammer gets cocked? Rack slide pull trigger cock hammer pull trigger with hammer down trigger pulled rack slide reset trigger then pull trigger

Try close the slide empty gun. Look at gap between slide and comp. pull trigger. how much does gap close? What recoil system/spring?

When shooting the 124HP out of the CK I always got the yellow looking powder residue. With the 115CMJ loads I am not seeing hardly any of the residue. Not sure if its because of a higher pressure or something else...
