  1. You'd need a lathe to do it correctly, but you could cut the striker block so it is slightly further down at rest, and is engaged sooner by the trigger bar. I've turned a couple that way; it's a little tedious, but doable.
  2. Are the pre-travel tabs on the trigger bar adjusted out? Too little pre-travel will not allow grip safety function, as the trigger bar isn't coming far enough forward to allow the safety to reset. Do you have full travel on the grip safety outward?
  3. It is pitted under that rust more than likely, but could still shoot very well. If you're shooting plated or jacketed bullets, jacket material will help fill in the pits as you shoot. I've seen rifle barrels come back from much worse and still shoot fine. It's not like you really need to worry about throat erosion for a while, either.
  4. I'm using the Arredondo in a couple of mags, and Grams in the others. I haven't forgotten to measure that extension, I apologise for it takinga few days. The in laws are currently in town... Joy.
  5. I'm betting it's the aftermarket Gun Candy additive to Cerakote clear, it gets sprayed over a black base coat. I've not had great results with that at all. It is much pickier to spray with the H series clear, the manufacturer even recommended just using the C series, which sort of ruins the point. It may just be the pictures, but that flaking appears to have a base coat underneath, which is on par with my experience with the Gun Candy. The top layer doesn't adhere as well to the base layer as you would find when doing correctly applied multiple layer Cerakote without the additive. For decorative applications, the Gun Candy goes over great.
  6. Maybe 16. Something with a wider body magazine will be much more suited to the .40. You might look in to a Tanfoglio Limited Custom, even second hand, if the TSOs are out of the budget. Alternately, the P09 has excellent capacity and is inexpensive, but they're very light for a limited gun.
  7. You could fit a new top end on the gun, but it won't be a Shadow 2 slide. A TS slide assembly can be made to fit if you want to keep the frame. The recoil spring tunnel on the TS slide would have to be thinned and blended, or the frame opened up. A 75 SA slide in .40 could work as well. You're going to be limited on capacity with the 75 pattern mags though, so take that into consideration.
  8. Let me measure the clearance in the back of the extension, but it will definitely need modified for that OAL. There should be enough wall thickness before the screw to open up the pocket, but I'll double check.
  9. This is basically what I am doing for 170s for my Caspian. I had a couple of the mags with the Cape style base pad, modified the TF extension to not hit the frame, modified for OAL. Here's a thread on the process from my testing.
  10. It appears that your SA let off and DA let off are in almost identical spots. I would recommend adjusting the disconnector to allow for DA let off slightly sooner. The underside of the wing on the disconnector needs to be massaged slightly for an earlier let off. Not an uncommon adjustment when installing that hammer and a short reset disconnector. I've seen it less often with the CGW hammers, but sometimes there as well.
  11. Before switching to the HPTA (from an EDT-SF) in an MPX, it would eat disconnector springs fairly regularly (500-700 rounds they were toast). With the springs installed for the slightly heavier trigger pull in a Hiperfire HPTA, going on 12,000 rounds with the same trigger parts. Not apples to apples, but maybe useful info.
  12. The Shadow 2, yes. The SP01 Shadow Target 2 is IDPA SSP legal, as it uses the factory sight cut and makes weight. CZC does not machine the Target 2, only the original Shadow Target. I believe it will fit with the 18rd magazine, but it's close.
  13. I would not personally cerakote handgun magazines. Chrome or electroless nickel perhaps, but there are fewer that do that. Mahovsky's in PA is reasonable price wise.
  14. In regards to 8.2.1.3, the list states "non-inclusive list", where 8.2.1.2 reads "inclusive list". I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but the explanation given for 8.1.7.e for me during previous interactions with SOIs and area coordinators (not that either of these are infallible) was for models such as the SW1911 with the through cuts in the slide (before that was legal), the ported M&P guns with a non-ported barrel installed, etc. The way the rule is written "OFM firearms with extensive slide machining" would indicate to me that they are speaking of the above scenario. I would agree that it's very arbitrary and pretty silly, really, but I'd hate to see someone spend a bunch of money just to get DQ'd or something at a major.
  15. Very good. I had only ever seen the graphic of the gun with the RMS installed; I had made the assumption that the cut was based there, my mistake
  16. A concern there is that internal weight reduction or milling is not on the list of approved modifications for SSP. So, depending on who is doing equipment check and how much of a stickler they and the MD are, you could run into trouble I bet.
  17. Out of curiosity, what makes you say the R3 Max won't need an adapter plate? My information on the R3 was that it was an RTS2 footprint, versus the much smaller JPoint/Shield RMS cut?
  18. EAA has a history of being slow on the import front. RSR Group just started listing these, the Stock II Xtreme 2 and the Domina recently, no availability.
  19. The new guns appear identical to the Eagle imported ones, at least after the change from the Eliason type sight cut to the round front. The barrel in the new guns appears to be some sort of applied finish, but mine hasn't worn enough to tell yet; I only just got to shoot my new GO one. The word is that GO has parts available; they supposedly bought up Eagle's stock and have been ordering more from GP. I'm very hopeful that they will import the Match and Match CO guns, though I have not seen official word.
  20. I have shooters request to run multiple divisions at my matches, and generally I will allow it if I can bias the squad appropriately, i.e. make it a larger squad on paper so we have the same number of people helping reset and paste. The least interference with match flow has shown to be a shooter in a handgun division that also shoots PCC; there is generally less of a gear changeover in my experience.
  21. That's probably the best way to go. A 3D printed part could snap into the holes on the sight body, locator/retaining pegs of a sort. I'm surprised the dual dot problem isn't being discussed more.
  22. I have the newer style Caspian mags (since discontinued) with the Cape style extensions and Arredondo followers, a couple of Tanfoglio magazines with TF extensions, and 1 MBX. The factory mags required some tuning to feed long 9 major correctly (at the transition from double to single stack in order to properly support the top round), the Tanfoglio magazine needed very little tweaking (after fitting it to the gun at the top), and the 1 MBX has been flawless.
  23. Fire4Effect has some packages and cut options that may speak to you. I've not used them personally, but those that have spoke highly. Tactical Sport modifications
