  1. I shoot USPSA, not IP-Sick. If someone tells me, "oh, i know what you do, IP-Sick right?" I tell them "No, it's USPSA" and then explain the difference. I am so tired of Dumbing stuff down for people in order to help them understand. ( applies to more than just USPSA vs IPSC ).
  2. Wow...you are really tempting the Jinx Gods.
  3. I could not agree more with this statement if I tried! I made sure I DVR'd Rescue Me because when these scenes came on, I just fast forwarded through them. They added absolutely nothing to the show.

  5. If Stuart can't find one, and you're desperate and you don't mind a used one, let me know. I shoot an SP01 but I put the Shadow saftey on it. I have the stock SP01 safety sitting in my spare parts bin. I don't want to sell it, but if you need one for A6 and don't mind a used one, I would be willing to let you borrow it for the match. I'd be happy to ship it to you. You can either give it back after you're done at A6 ( I'll be there shooting Sat/Sun ), or you can mail it back.
  6. Shouldn't matter, but was it an OEM part? If it was CZ part, I cannot see why this would happen. The only thing I can think of is Mag spring. First off, what gun is it? Shadow? Are you running with the OEM springs? If so, you may want to think about changing to the +10%. Normally you should be able to get your CZ to not only strip the round every time, but also auto slide release if you jam it in hard enough. Strange that it wasn't working at home, but I found 9 out of 10 problems wont replicate in the confines of your work bench. They only want to present themselves during a match when you're on the clock. It's that damn Murphy guy's fault.
  7. Pretty intense show. This past week was the hardest to watch. The season is over now, I hope they bring it back for a second season.
  8. Logical, and gets us back on topic. If we need to come up with a way for a soldier to shoot his/her M9 (Beretta 92F) we should be able to do that? If a gun is the same as on the list for the general population, we should have a means to look at that. But, that isn't really the issue here, right? Honestly here is my OPINION of the issue. I have been attacked before for saying this but I'll say it again. THE RULE BOOK NEEDS A REWRITE!! There are a TON of gray areas, areas that are left up to interoperation, and just uclear areas. What is "General Public"? What is a "Race Holster"? What is "Suitable for everyday use"? These all need to be looked it - I hate to say it but the rule book needs to be black and white. If A=B and B=C then A=C! Not "well I THINK A=B and B sorta = C so lets just say A=C". OK - I'm ready - bring on the attacks (FYI I'm now an RO so that argument is no longer valid) You're not a CRO.....so what do you know??!
  9. Lake Lure, NC shoots on 3rd Saturday. Here is their website: http://hawkeyegunclub.tripod.com/index.html
  10. Skydiver, you are correct, I did a search, found this from an old thread. This is one of the person's squad mates commenting on the issue: "I was shooting in the same squad with xxxx. Long story short. Long field course with a loaded gun on table start and all magazines on table. Start position was seated facing uprange. xxxx was given the make ready command. After making ready, he returned to the start position where he had left a white hand towel. He picked the white towel up and sat down and wiped his face and hands off. The RO on the right side of the stage yelled "That is a procedural." After completing the stage, xxxx was informed he had broken rule 8.7.4. He appealed to the CRO, then the Range Master, who both refused to overturn the call. Discretion being the better part of valor, xxxx declined to go to arbitration. Who knew that a small white towel was an aiming device." AGAIN...I removed the person's name ( I think we all know who it is by now anyway ) because my original intent of the example was to show a rule that you may not be aware of and not focus on the person that committed the foul.

    Rain

You guys don't shoot in the rain? We are looking at rain, freezing rain and accumulating snow for our first match of the season Sunday. We won't cancel it unless it's unsafe to be on the roads. Neither Scott nor I are the decision makers. If it was up to me, I'd shoot in the rain.

    Rain

Well crap..it will be with all these negative waves. Glenn, See if they will hold a match next weekend since they've cancelled so many in a row. I will see what Eddie says. I know they were planning on a prop fixing day, so not sure if it will fly or not.
  13. Just took advantage of this offer today. Thanks for the link!

    KWA KZ75 Questions

i've started using mine without the BB's. I just jam a piece of paper in the mag follower so you can keep shooting even with an empty mag. I know it's not the same as shooting the BB's, but at least it spices up dry fire a bit. It gets the slide moving and you dont have to worry where the BB's are going. It's helping me learn how to call my shots better anyway. When i need to work on real gun handling skills, i just go back to the real gun.
  16. I've been using the 11.5# spring from Cajun. Last week at the Alabama match i did not have one light strike. Successfully set off every round using Winchester primers. My DA pull is about 5.75#.
  17. Wow...if you think this is over you are naive. They will never stop grabbing. What we need to do now is make sure every last one of them that jumped on the wagon to take away our rights is voted out during the next election.
  18. Just installed the safety spring that Scott (sperman) is selling. If anyone of you are still having an issue accidentally bumping the safety on, you should invest in this spring. It was no more difficult than installing the stock safety detent spring. I posted a short video for you to see the difference. I'm using the same upward force with my thumb before and after. In order to engage the safety, I needed to exert a lot more pressure. I think it is highly unlikely you will bump the safety on with this spring. Thanks Scott!!
  19. Was a great match and lots of fun until my slide stop broke on stage 8! Thanks to everyone at EAGC for putting on a great match and RM Sam Keene. Enjoyed shooting with everyone on squad 13.
  20. Quick question for all y'all that know the area. Coming down from SC, past Atlanta, is it easier to go: A - I-185 past Columbus ( we would be driving past Columbus around 4:30-5pm if that makes any difference ) or B - Stay on 85 and get off on Hwy 169 just short of Auburn They look the same about distance/time wise, just figured I would ask in case Columbus is traffic Cluster F on a Friday afternoon. ( no idea, never been there ) Thanks!
  21. IPSC rules.... Rule 8.1.3: "Load and Make Ready" (or "Make Ready" for starts with an unloaded firearm)
  22. I hate talking on speaker phone. I hate being talked to on speaker phone. I also hate when you're in a public bathroom and someone is talking on the phone. I usually just start flushing the toilet over and over again.
  23. That would require one big ass fishing vest!
