    CZ magazine issues

Be careful shooting a major with those 19 round MecGar's. I've personally witnessed a shooter getting the bump to open at a level 2 when the gun wouldn't fit in the box. Those mags are slightly bigger than the CZ originals. Just big enough to make the gun not fit.

Chuck, yep, the stock mag springs on the CZ are horrible. Usually with stock springs you leave bullets on the ground like bread crumbs. In your mag pouch the bullets just start falling out. Not enough tension. Go to either CZCustom and get +10's ore Wolff. Just watch out, sometimes the +10's can be too strong. I had an issue last year at Florida Open because the springs were brand new and one of them wouldn't let the gun go into battery.

Do you shoot competitively? If yes, then yes, you will need the mag brake. It allows the magazine to slide in easily. Without the brake, the mag has a very high chance of hanging up while you're inserting it. If you're a plinker, then no, you really don't need it. It is still nice to have, but not necessary.
  4. I had the same exact issues. I gave it to a buddy. I got so frustrated I was ready to break the thing in a hundred pieces, but figured I'd let someone else try and make it run better.
  5. I was personally the victim of debit card fraud a few months ago. The bank was calling my home phone number while the charges were happening, unfortunately I wasn't home. Didn't matter, the charges went through anyway. I got hit for approx $3000 from several different online vendors. Thankfully I was able to make some frantic phone calls and cancel most of the orders that night, but a few went through. The bank eventually covered me, but the problem is, it may take some time. The money is automatically taken from your account. You have to work to get YOUR money back and until the bank agrees to give you your money back...you don't have it! God forbid you actually needed that money right away, you are up the creek without a paddle. With a Credit Card, you can dispute the fraudulent charges and not have to worry about paying them, ever. I will NEVER use my debit card online ever again. I have stopped using it at stores as a credit card, or debit card. The prospect of someone getting a few thousand dollars of my money was enough of kick in the pants to do whatever i can to avoid that at all costs. Stick with a credit card. If you don't have one, get one, and just make sure you pay it every month.

    CZ lubrication

I have the AGI, it's good for reference, but IIRC it's an older version CZ75 so that are some differences. But it should help. As far as lube, I've been using Froglube. Lubricates well and keeps it cleaner than CLP in my opinion. For the most part as long as you keep in oiled, it will run like a top. The only thing to really watch for is getting sand/dirt/grime between the trigger bar and the frame. It can cause the trigger to not reset. I had that happen a while back so now I always make sure it's clean in there. Quick shot of air with the air compressor and its good to go!

  9. My CZ SP01 has a trigger job from CZC, came to me about the same as yours is now. I put the following in it: 13# main spring Extended firing pin CGW reduced power TRS CGW reduced power FPB spring The DA is a smooth 6.25#, the SA is 2.75#, and it lights Winchester primers all day long. To the OP I went in and polished everything inside, trigger bar, FPB, all metal contact points. Used 1000 grit sandpaper, polished with dremel with jewelers rouge. I stayed away from the sear and hammer hooks. Point is it can be done to clean up the trigger a little better than you have now, cheaply, and easily. Lots of info over at http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?board=59.0 on what to specifically look for.
  10. As Sarge said, check out Ace Hardware, if they have one that fits, it probably will be on the the metric side, not SAE. If not, reach out to DAA in their deal forum here. Saul will most likely get back to you. The part will come from Holland though, so if you're in the rush, try the hardware store first!
  11. Just take a huge tube of toothpaste and a liter bottle of water. They'll be so transfixed on that they won't look at the belt. We used to something like that going to Yankees games. One buddy would walk through the turnstile with a big cheap cigar in his mouth blowing smoke everywhere screaming "let's go Yankees!!!!" The entire security staff would converge on him like he was the Unabomber. ( you weren't allowed to smoke ). Anyway, second buddy would then walk right on by with a soft cooler ( looked like a big camera bag ) filled with beer. I think the record was 36 cans.
  12. Person with the highest HF per division on the stage gets 100% of the total points available. If it was a 30 round stage, that would be 150 points. Everyone else’s points are based on the their % of the top guys HF. Ie: Top guy shoots a 9.5 HF. He gets 150 points. Your HF was a 7.2, 7.2 divided by 9.5 is 75.78%. 75.78% of 150 points is 113.68 points. You do that for everyone on EACH stage. Those are your stage points. Add up all of your stages points to get your match points. Guy with most match points wins. PER Division. The Divisions don’t compete against each other.
  13. Matchsignup. Go to the main page on the Match, and instead of clicking on Register, right below that there is a hyperlink for Squad List. Click on that and all your answers will be in there.

    Spare Parts Kit

Not always. My slide stop broke at the AL Sectional. Gun was locked up tighter than a snare drum. The slide was not locked back. The left side would not budge, in or out. I had no idea what the issue was when it happened. Now i know better. But when my slide stop broke, there was no finishing the stage. So my two cents is, if you're a competition shooter, replace it before it happens. I would replaced after 10-15K rounds. If that sounds like too much, then ask yourself this, how much was that match fee that I just wasted when my gun decided to take a dump during a major? Mag springs - replace one a year. Same thing...FUBAR'd the FL Open last year because of bad mag springs. My issue was they were too tight. Extractor - Clean out BEHIND it every 5000 rounds. Replace it every year. TRS - First, buy the Cajun TRS, they include a slave pin...which is AWESOME! Use the Cajun TRS, the CZ OEM spring will break, just a matter of time. Recoil spring - replace every 10K rounds. Hammer Spring - every 15K These are by no means scientific. Just how I roll. I also clean my gun way more than most people. So take it for what it's worth. Have a backup part for everything, have two of all the parts listed above. Make sure you buy them all at once. CZCustom is a great source for all of this, but they will eat you alive in shipping costs if you order parts one or two at a time. Raise your hand if you've paid $15 for a $2 part because you needed it before an upcoming match.
  15. KWA makes the KZ75. It's the CZ 75 replica. There are a bunch of threads on it. Just do a search on "KZ75" and you will have lots to choose from.
  16. Every time I pack the car I stare into the trunk and say the following and make sure i see all of them: Bullets go in the mags, mags go in the gun, mags and gun go in the holster and mag pouches, holster and mag pouches attach to inner belt. ( borrowed the saying from another forum member....can't recall who it was ).
  17. I used to shoot the Star "Head Hands Feet" like most people do. Had my share of dumpster fires, had some really good runs. After discussing this at length with ZSavage a few months ago, I am a convert. Shot the Florida Sectional and went with the "down the right side" approach. It might have been a tad slower, but it was a clean run. Plus my confidence is a lot higher now. Head hands feet is a good way IF you do it clean. that is like saying "i can shoot these two arrays without reloading, IF i go one for one on the steel". I don't like taking risks like that and having to plan a back up plan. Point is, I'm shooting it down the right side from now on. ( or until i have a huge dumpster fire doing it that way...in which case i will blame Zsavage! )
  18. Shot this one this past weekend. 54 points 8.14, HF 6.6339. To give you more of an idea, I looked this one up from when they shot it at Nationals in 2013. Here are the Top 5 HF's for Production and Limited: Production: 9.3426, 9.0062, 8.6811, 8.5809, 7.9096 Limited: 10.1423, 9.571, 9.4215, 9.3972, 9.3379
  19. I shot this match today. Wow! Some of the best stages I' ve seen all year! Hats off to the stage desingers and everyone involved putting on this match. I shot like crap but had a ton of fun doing it. If you're in the southeast, put this match on your calendar next year.
  20. They've done studies....60% of the time...it works every time.
  21. Shannon, you're not too far from me. If you ever wanted to take some time to learn, I'd be willing to lend a hand. I've had my SP01 down to a pile of parts a number of times. It's intimidating as hell, but once you do it, it's not that hard. It helps having internet and video nearby for reference. The hardest part is remembering the order things go back in ( ie: hammer pin detent BEFORE left side safety detent and spring...i think i screw that one up every time! ) Anyway, let me know if you are interested. I'm busy the next couple of weeks but after that, I"m pretty free.
  22. 1 out of every 200-300? You need to figure this problem out quickly. No offense, but you are a dangerous accident waiting to happen. It looks like you're doing the right things on the press. But my question is what is going on around you. It sounds like you may be getting distracted. Do you have a TV on in the room? If so, turn it off right now. Do you have a radio on in the room? Are you singing along or is it just background noise? I have the radio on, but it's there for white noise only. I couldn't tell you what songs have been playing during a reloading session because i'm not listening to the music, it's just on in the background. If you're listening to the music, it's as bad as having a TV on. Turn it off. Do you have wife/kids/girlfriend/boyfriend interrupting you? If so, you need to find some pictures on the internet of guns that have blown up due to overcharges and show them that this is what happens when you distract a reloader. Maybe then they will leave you alone. Do you stop frequently to check to see if a case looks right or a primer is seated correctly? If so, minimize that. If you do need to stop, when you go to restart, make sure you look in all four stations and ensure that they are in the right spot. Don't assume. Find an experienced reloader in your area to come watch you. 1 out of 2-300 is WAY too many for any one person. Good luck.
