Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Thanks to everyone who responded. All of the responses were very helpful!
  2. My search kung-fu might have failed me, but I can't find a direct answer to my specific question so I'm posting it here. I've shot a lot of USPSA Production and Single Stack, but now I'm gearing up to do PCC with a CZ Scorpion. The mags that I'm intending to use are the Magpul 35 round mags and the ETS 40 round mags. Of course, I have a couple of the stock CZ 20 round mags that came with the carbine itself. Running around with mags that big on my belt is something new to me so I'm looking for the best PCC pouch that I can that will work with these specific mags and not have them end up on the deck during a stage. I'm leaning towards the Comp-Tac pouches, but I'm really curious what pouches anyone has used successfully for these specific Magpul and ETS mags. My theory is that the various pouches all probably work just fine for stock CZ mags, but the trouble might begin with third party mags with high capacities.
  3. Has anyone used the Glock 33 mag along with the new Taylor Freelance Goliath extension with a JP GMR15?
  4. I'm coming in a bit late on this thread, but I've shot quite a bit of a single stack over the past couple years. I liked the BOSS/Bladetech combo for my Single Stack so much that I bought a BOSS to go with my Comp-Tac holster for production. For pouches, I'm a big fan of the Double Alpha Racer Single Stack pouches. The BOSS works great, it's reasonably priced, and I'm all about ordering stuff from Ben Stoeger Pro Shop since the average time between when they receive my order and when they ship what I ordered is best described as "freakishly quick".
  5. The registration is now open for the 2017 Factory Gun Classic at the WAC in Clearwater, Florida on December 2nd and 3rd. The match registration opened early this morning and half the slots are already gone so if you are interested this is something you'll want to move on quickly. Eight USPSA stages, BBQ from Mission BBQ, a nice match shirt, a packed raffle table with guns and other goodies etc. Basically, the standard major match goodness you've come to expect from the WAC.
  6. Of course, I cursed myself by posting I haven't had any issues with my Wilson mags because I started to have push feed issues with them in the past couple weeks. I'm reasonably certain it's an ammo or spring issue rather anything inherently wrong with the Wilson mags. I've already managed to rule out any gun issues. They've been very good mags for me. I just have to do some more testing once major match season calms down a bit to figure out if the new springs I put in them caused an issue or it was snarky ammo. I also happily use Tripp Corey System 10mm mags for my SVI 1911 40. I like having both the Wilson and Tripp mags so I can experiment if something goes odd. Tripp customer service is another reason I keep coming back to them (via my annual spring replacement purchases). They're very responsive and knowledgable when it comes to their magazines and 1911 pistols in general. I've dealt with Aaron over there on troubleshooting some issues over the years and he's a great resource and has great sense of humor. I won't use any other mags at this point other than the Wilson or Tripp. I've been using the Tripp mags more than the Wilson mags just because I know I'll get crazy good customer service out of Tripp if I have any questions such as my now annual magazine replacement spring discussion with Aaron. I'm told that Wilson has very good customer service also and the few times that I've emailed them questions, they've been very responsive so I'm set either way, I think.
  7. Send me your email and I'll get you the match book. There was an issue were getting email addresses wasn't mandatory when people signed up so if there wasn't an email on record, the match book didn't get to the shooter. Match starts at 0800.
  8. I use Wilson ETM 500s with the new and improved flat springs for my SVI 40 cal and it's eliminated any periodic magazine issues that I had with my old mags. I basically don't even think about mag reliability issues anymore.
  9. Not yet If you register, make sure you provide your email address in Match Sign up so that when it's ready, you'll get it in email.
  10. We're down to 31 slots left and Sunday is sold out. The good news (for people who had their hearts set on a Sunday slot) is that I'm hearing there might be a purge of the unpaid entries on Match Sign Up this coming Sunday night. Some of the unpaid slots are for Sunday so if you had your heart set on shooting on Sunday, keep an eye on Match Sign up and you might be able to snag any slots that come open because someone didn't pay. Saturday is were are all of the current open slots are right now, but some of the Saturday squads have sold out and others just have one slot left.
  11. We're down to only 42 of the 204 slots left after registration being open less than five days. The biggest issue at this point is that there are only two slots left if you want to shoot the match on Sunday. There are also a couple squads on Saturday that are almost filled up so if you have a preference for a day or a particular squad, it would be a good idea to register ASAP.
  12. I just got mine back from the factory after its 5,000 round check up and the whole gun looks new. The finish on everything, including the sights, has been what you'd expect from Infinity and I noticed no finish degradation at any time. More importantly, the rear sights have held zero without any issue. This is easily the most accurate gun I've ever owned.
  13. The terrible swift sword of the Match Sign up bot swept through last night and nuked any of the registrations that were not paid. Thus, if you registered yesterday, but didn't pay, your registration is now a smoking ruin and is no more. What you'll need to do is re-register ASAP and get your payment in so that you can still shoot on the day/squad that you like. And even with the evil registration bot doing it's dirty business, we only have 74 slots of the 204 left so early registration is encouraged especially if you have a particular preference for squads/days.
  14. Registration for the 2016 Factory Gun Classic at The Wyoming Antelope Club in Clearwater, Florida went live this morning and it's already about 25% sold. This will be an eight stage two-day event (you shoot it all in one day on whichever day you choose to shoot the match) with gun drawings and a raffle table on both days. The WAC is giving away 12 guns total and the raffle tables will feature swag from Springfield (the guns), Yetti, Black Scorpion and others. Registration fee includes a shirt, Mission BBQ lunch, and a chance to win one of the guns. http://www.matchsignup.org/match/default.php?matchid=846
  15. Aw, nuts. I'm so sorry. The proper registration link is http://www.matchsignup.org/match/default.php?matchid=873 for the Florida Open. I can't edit my original post now. I owe you beer, Sparky. (If a moderator can let me edit the original post or do it for me, I'd appreciate that. I posted on the Open and FL State at the same time and clearly screwed up my cutting and pasting of the links)
