  1. Hope you are enjoying your birthday Mike, at your age you never know how many more you will have. Tom
  2. Wait 'till the guys here about this. Welcome to the forums Dean. I will let you know about Sunday. Tom
  3. It is not the responsibility of the RO/CRO to ask the shooter if he wants the popper calibrated. The shooter has to ask for a calibration. At a level II match the clipboard guy should be watching for hits etc, the poppers should also be painted between shooters. They should have a pretty good idea if it was a hit or a miss. Most "seasoned" shooters will ask for the calibration if they leave one standing at a level II.. Tom
  4. My day job is carpenter. We have done many fire jobs. Fire and smoke damage is the worst. My wife has standing orders if the house catches fire, DO NOT call the fire department. If I am going to remodel, we are remodeling with a backhoe and starting over. I am trusting that the fire rating on that safe lives up to what it says. Tom
  5. The CR-Speed is very popular. Works with just about any revolver. Tom
  6. http://www.ftknox.com/ This is what I have. I love it. Tom
  7. I use a LPA rear with a FO front of your choosing. Tom
  8. I am a lefty myself. I have been DQ'ed for the exact same thing. Mine was at the SS Classic though. Starting from the left and moving right, while trying to do a reload, is tough for a lefty to do. It is real easy to forget where the muzzle is pointing. My DQ was years ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday. I can almost guarentee that you will never do that again. It will stick in your mind every time you look over a stage and realize that you might have to move to the right. Whenever possible, I always start on the right and work my way left. Learn from it and move on. Tom
  9. In USPSA no. That 610 could compete with a 625 no problem. IDPA has a maximum barrel length of 4". So that barrel length is not legal for IDPA Tom
  10. 1.Get a 625 and don't look back. Send it to Carmoney for an action job and you are all set. 2. Holsters, Most use the Cr Speed. Some have switched to just a kydex holster. Can't go wrong with either. Buy your stuff from Dealers on Brians sight. 3. 45 ACP moonclips are pretty simple. Not brass specific like the .357. Most get them from Ranch products, Brownells, or TK Custom. They are cheap. Get enough to get you through a match without having to re-load them during the match. 4. Buy you moon clip holder from Bob Perdue. North Mountain Moon Clip holder. You can buy direct from Bob, or shooters connection has them as well. Most usethe 4 post model with a single one behind the holster for loading. 5. Get a stripper tool of some sort and maybe a loading tool as well. I use the stripper that looks like a screwdriver, works well. I bought the loader that Dillon carries. It works well but I had to have it modified to work with all my different calibers. Tom
  11. Been a nail bender all my life as well. Totally fake. Tom
  12. The M&P from Smith are truely ambidextrous guns. I am a lefty myself and when I decided to try production, I looked at glock, Smith and the XD from Springfield. The Smith and Wesson won hands down. Already has slide release on other side, and it is a no brainer to switch the mag release over. Get yourself a 9L or a Pro in 9MM and never look back. Tom
  13. This thread is useless without pictures. And I know what a Dillon casefeeder look like Congrats on both. Tom
  14. 12 pepper poppers 8 us poppers 1 plate rack 5 hinged KD plates 8 loose KD plates. 4 Full size IPSC targets. Tom
  15. Our clubs monthly match is that week-end but we are in the process of changing that. Assuming that I am still employed at that time I will be there. To close to home to not go. Tom
  16. Wear the shirt. When we have the WI sectional up in LaCrosse, one of the local breweries is always a match sponsor. Tom
  17. In the hands of a good revolver smith, they can get a frame mounted firing pin action lighter than the hammer mounted ones. Tom
  18. Loks like an older 625. Not sure of the years when they switched from hammer mounted firing pin to the frame mounted. Pinnacle is one of the best revolver smiths out there. He has done a number of guns for me and his work is top notch. Looks like they took a regular 625 with a full lug and milled some metal off of the bottom of the barrel. Should be a good gun for USPSA. Tom
  19. Welcome to Wisconsin. I don't know of any local ranges in the Manitowac area, that doesn't mean their not there though. The WI shooters website is a good place to start, lots of info there. Most of the USPSA clubs in WI shut down for the winter unless they have an indoor range. The USPSA club in Omro no longer holds their matches at Springbrook. They have their matches at the Ripon Club. Not to far from Manitowac. So there are 2 USPSA matches a month at Ripon, plus they shoot IDPA as well. I run the USPSA program at the club south of Milwaukee, Schultz's. We shoot on the 2nd Sunday of the month. We have one steel match a year and that is always in July. NISA (Northern Illinois Shooters Association) also shoots at Schultz's on the 4th Sunday of the month. We have Oconomowoc Sportsman Club, they are west of Milwaukee, they shoot 3rd Sunday. We have a club in LaCrosse, and a new club just opened west of Madison, they have their first official match this week-end. So plenty of shooting once the snow melts. Give me a call or e-mail if you have any other questions. Tom
  20. I leave Saturday morning for Red Oak Iowa to go pick up my new Ford F-350 XLT extended cab 4x4 with the v-10. Meet me at the dealership and I will sell you my 1997 F-250 with 110,000 on it I have always been a ford guy, would stay away from the ford diesels. The chevy duramax is a proven motor but with the new ownership, I will never own one. Lots of trucks at Cars.com and Autotrader.com. That is where I found mine. Good luck with the search. Tom
  21. http://www.pinnacle-guns.com/ Mark is one of the best revolver smiths around. Give him a call. Tom
  22. Sam, Congrats on the engagement Tom
