  1. We have some more details available for the WI section match on August 8th and 9th. 1. Match will be a trophy only match, no prize table. 2. We will be giving away 4-8 guns for the match. We are going to try to get one gun per division, regardless of how many entries in the division. So if only 5 people sign up for L-10, you have a 1 in 5 chance or winning a gun. Guns will be given away by random drawing. 3. RO fee for the match is $40. This gets you a free lunch on Saturday and Sunday, free RO shirt, RO's shoot for score. RO's will have their own gun drawing, seperate from all other drawings. RO's are still eligible for the gun drawing in the division they shoot in as well. 4. New for 2009, Schultz Rod and Gun Club economic stimulus package. To be eligible for the stimulus package, you must have your entry POSTMARKED by JUNE 30th, no exceptions!!! All competitors that have their applications postmarked by the 30th, will be entered into a drawing for $200 cash. All other late fee's apply after July 12th. 5. Match will be 9 stages plus chrono, 200 plus rounds. 6. We still need RO and CRO for the match staff. 7. Applications will be at http://www.schultzgunclub.com/. 8. Any questions feel free to e-mail or call me at: twmainus@wi.rr.com 414-378-2211

    Dog Warning!

Better the dog than the walls.
  3. Good luck with the new driver in the family Nemo, hope all is well. Tom
  4. We use the paint rollers for our steel matches as well. Ask the local paint shop or any painting contractors for there extra paint. We get all of ours for free. Pour it all into one 5 gallon bucket and see what color you get . We buy the cheap paint rollers from Menards, $2 for a roller, cover and tray. Throw the cover out after the match. let the trays sit in the sun for a couple of days, it takes me maybe 5 minutes to clean it all up. We only shoot our steel match once a year, so the only problem is when we drag the plates out next year, they are usually stuck together and we have to drop them on the ground to get them loose. Tom
  5. We don't have people shooting them over and over, but if someone screws up a classifier, and it does happen, and they want another shot at it, we allow that. It just costs them $5 to re-shoot it They usually only try it one more time. Tom
  6. See if you can rent some different guns from the store and see what you like. Everyone is different and like different guns for different reasons. With that being said I would buy the S&W M&P 9L or a Pro in 9mm I have one and it really shoots well for me. Tom
  7. I am running about 3.6 grns of Clays out of my 9L. 147 grn MG loaded to 1.130. Very soft shooting. Have not really tested accuracy yet. But so far so good. Tom
  8. Happy B-day Mike, see you in July. Tom
  9. Just so there is no confusion until Kevin edits his post. The Bragging Rights Match is October 25th, not the 11th. Tom http://www.nisa-uspsa.org/ http://www.schultzgunclub.com/
  10. Another convert to the limited 6 way of life. Welcome aboard.
  11. We had this happen last year at the WI sectional. When shooters showed up for the chrono, we didn't use the 8 in the bag, we had them put all of their mags on the table and then we took 8 rounds from the mags. We weighed the bullets from the original 8 taken from stage 1. Shooters original 8 weighed 185 grain. He wasn't making major so he had one bullet left. He decided to have it weighed. That one that we weighed was 165 grain . He was a fairly new shooter who was using up all of his left over ammo for the match. Tom
  12. If you are shooting 75% of the open Gm who is winning the match, I would say you are easily putting up A class scores in limited if not higher. Tom
  13. How are they scoring the match? They might be using the USPSA scoring software and are just not affiliated with USPSA anymore or never were. If they are using ez-winscore, ask the stats guy to print you out or email you a copy of the results with combined divisions. You can tabulate the results with everybody combined, that will get you a percentage of the overall winner, even if they are in open. Tom
  14. That little square tab has to go underneath the slot cut out in the top of the frame. It can be tricky to get it to line up but it will go. Always adjust the rear sight in the direction you want your bullet to impact. Tom
  15. Paul, Whose blast shield are you using on the one super? Tom
  16. Don't let it bother you. You did the right thing. I have been dq'd once at the SS Classic and had an attempted dq that I arbitrated and got re-instated at nationals. I remember both of them like it was yesterday. And because of both instances, I learned a great deal. You remember them so much I can almost guarentee you that the shooter will never do that again. The shooter learns more from the DQ then they realize. It might take them a few hours or days to realize it, but they do. Tom
  17. Randy Lee at Apex Tatical is probably the best. Mark Harthstone at Pinacle High performance is very good. And there is some guy in Iowa, Forum member Carmoney, that I hear isn't to bad either. Tom
  18. I have a classifier book from '91 and it is not in there. Tom
  19. I concur with everyone here so far. I started with a sportster, and my wife started with a sportster. Half way through the first riding season you will want to get rid of it for something bigger. Don't be intimidated by the bigger bikes if you have never rode before. My wife upgraded to a street glide and she has never looked back. It is a little lighter than a bagger, has a lower center of gravity because it doesn't have the tour pak up high like my classic does, looks sporty but it is still comfortable enough to do the long rides like we like to do. Go rent a couple and try them for a week-end. Tom
  20. The drawing for the guns would be random. Everyone who shoots in that division gets one ticket for the gun. So if someone who normally shoots limited, decides to try SS because there are only 5 people signed up for SS, but there are 30 signed up for limited, they just improved thier odds at winning a gun. Tom
  21. We are trying to think outside the box for this years WI sectional. Instead of a prize table and cash payouts, would you come to a match knowing that regardless of how many entries per division, the match staff was going to draw for a gun per division? You shoot open and there 30 people in that division, you have a 1 in 30 chance of winning. Shoot Revo with 3 other guys, 1 in 3 chance of winning. This might get people to shoot a division that they might not normally try to better there odds at winning a gun. All other things remain equal. 9 stages, free lunch, match fee $90, reputation of the match staff putiing on a well run event with qualified staff, and trophies. Match averages between 70 and 90 shooters when we have it at Schultz's. Let me know what you think. Tom
  22. That was amazing. I wonder how much it hurts when those chains let go and start slapping you in the back of the head. Tom
  23. One more of the trailer. We paid $50 for it. Was going to be the local lions club beer trailer . Luckily for us it was never meant to be. Tom
  24. Here are the pictures of our bases, walls, and our IPSC trailer. I can just about set up for the sectional with everything that is in the trailer.
  25. The targets are the NRAD-1 I think. They look like a tombstone, and have rings like an IDPA target. Icore is accuracy based like IDPA. You have to slow down a little and get your hits. If you shoot it in IPSC mode your C-hits will start adding up pretty quick. Just shoot all x-rings really fast and you will do fine Tom
