Obviously one can't compete on the PGA with a set of rackety old clubs bought at a pawn shop or found in a grandfather's garage... but one can at least start playing golf and get a feel for the game while having a good time.
I've already got a USPSA production set-up, and it costs plenty on its own!
I'd like to try a 3-gun in the not too distant future....
So I'm wondering what some of the better "economy" options are out there. Heavy metal division is a no-go because of .308 ammo cost.
I'm a little confused about divisions - but what's the most analogous to USPSA Production?
Could one run a pump shotgun and a carbine with iron sights? Obviously this won't be the most competitive set-up.... but I'm just looking for something functional at this point. Then as I figure out my interests, strengths, and weaknesses - I can upgrade later down the road.
Safe and Fun is what drew me to "practical shooting" - and as long as I am safe and having fun - it's okay if it takes a few more years for my equipment to catch up to the top-line stuff!
