    Area 8

Looks like there is new sherriff in the revolver world. Congrats Dave Olhasso, edging out Cliff by 5 match points at Area 8. Looks like it was a tight race.
  2. Don't drop your mags in the sand, and then stuff them on your belt. Might not work to well Just in a smart ass mood tonight, Tom
  3. That has to be fake. If it is real, Holy S*&t Tom
  4. http://ftknox.com/ My family has had good luck with Fort Knox. Tom
  5. But its your best 4 scores that give initial class. With 6 stages, you can crash and burn without tanking your initial classification. Yep, I was going to run a 4 classifier match and had it pointed out to me that if a new guy zeros a stage they would not get classified. So, I have changed mine to a 6 classifier match. The fees paid to USPSA is the same for 4 classifiers as it is for 6. Not true. They get $6 per shooter for 4 and $6.50 per shooter for 6 classifiers. I always keep it just classifiers. Try to set up a couple of the larger field course classifiers if you have room. Tom
  6. I wasn't sure what I was going to find when I clicked on this topic Tom
  7. Call Tech-wear and be done with it. Sue is great to work with, and the product is top notch. It might be a little higher than your price point, but the quality is worth it. They also support the sport. Just my .02 Tom
  8. Shamelss bump for a great match. You only have three days to get your app in to qualify for the cash drawing of $200. If you plan on coming to the match anyways, might as well get it in early to have a chance at $200. Tom
  9. http://www.schultzgunclub.com/ Stages are posted for the section match. You have until June 30th to get your application in to qualify for the economic stimulus package Tom
  10. I got that in an e-mail a little bit ago and that said it was at a trap range as well. 12 gauge resting on the foot. Tom
  11. At our club all of our swingers etc.. are activated by forward falling poppers. We have a hole in the center of the popper where we put a carriage bolt through the hole. We then attach an eyebolt to the carriage bolt with a two sided threaded insert. Cable gets attached to the eyebolt and almost always has to go through a deadman to get to the swinger. Our deadman are just 2x4 with an eyebolt through the center. Stake the deadman down in the correct spot and run the cable through that to the swinger. We use the 1/8" rubber coated cable for all of our stuff. If we have to make alot of turns in the cable to get to the target I may use a pulley or two to reduce friction on the cable. Tom
  12. Jonny Brister need SS to be a 6 time GM.

  14. I had ghost rings on my revolvers for a little while. We made them from the factory rear sight, made a half moon cut in the blade and then JB welded a cut off from a piece of tubing to the half moon cut. They worked but they were really delicate. Had to be careful not to brake them. Still have them in the safe if anyone wants to reinvent the wheel again. Tom
  15. That seems like a little young to me to be shooting a real gun. I assume it was a 9mm. I wonder what kind of spring set up they had on it. He racked the slide pretty easy for a 6 year old. We have adults at our matches that have a hard time pulling the slide back. Don't get me wrong, I think it is great to have him shooting that young but... Tom
  16. North Mountain 4 post in front, NM single post behind the holster. Tom
  17. Depending on how big your hands are, I release mine with the thumb of my strong(left hand). The houge is a lot longer than most releases, and it is farther back on the gun. Not much of a stretch to release with strong hand thumb. Tom
  18. I am a lefty and I am slowly putting Houges on all of my revolvers. Nothing to worry about as far as interference is concerned. Tom
  19. I have a "few " extra revolvers that are available for this match. Don't know about factory ammo but they are available. Let me know if anyone needs one. Tom
  20. http://www.pinetreepistolclub.com/icore.asp I just saw this on their website. Thought I would pass it along. Not sure if I can make it or not. Tom
