  1. Howard, Our painter buys all of his stuff from Sanders paint in Racine. I think it is on Hwy 11 but I am not sure. He said to use a product from Sikkens. It is an oil based product. He used it on the log home we built in Union Grove, on Hwy 11 about 2 miles east of the Piggly Wiggly. The stuff looks like it is still wet when it dries. You can get a clear or they have a few with a slight tint to it. Call me if you have any more ?'s. Tom
  2. Howard, I will see our painter tomorrow down in Moline. I will ask him what he would use. I will give you a call when I get some info. Tom
  3. For the 230's, start at 3.8 and work your way up. Chrono to see where you have to be with your gun. Regular clays is a very good powder to use for .45. The lighter bullets will need more powder to make major PF. Tom

A friend of mine has a MEC reloader for sale on the USPSA classifieds right now. Tom
  5. Have them bag and unbag there guns when it is there turn to shoot. Have them start loaded, finger off the trigger, hammer down, at the low ready. They will still need moonclip holders or speedloader holders though. Tom
  6. The R&R Racing ones are the best that I have seen. http://www.randrracingonline.com/target_pr...tivator_box.htm Tom
  7. I run regular Clays in both my 45 and my 9mm. Very soft shooting 9mm with 147 grn bullets. Tom
  8. Way to go Chris. Was going to bring the Harley down there today but that didn't work out. Congrats Tom
  9. Mike Thanks for the reply. I've been lurking long enough that as far as your advice goes, I can "take it to the bank". I love this Forum Joe You can take his advice to the bank but it ain't worth nothing. Tom
  10. Here is how I make it work on my SDB. I use all 38 Auto dies. I use the #2 shellplate Use the #3 locator pins. I have to run all of my brass through an EGW undersize 38 die before I can run it through the SDB. I have a single stage press set up for this. My bullets would fall right into the case if I did not do this step. Case mouth was to big without running it through the undersize die. If the case is bulging when you seat the bullet, you are seating the bullet to deep. THese are small cases and most like to load a little heavier bullet. Seat it to deep and the bottom of the case is thicker and it will bulge and not fit in the cylinder. I think the problem with the 38 special dies is they are to long for the short colt brass. Do a search for "short colt" in the revolver forum, ton of info there on this. Tom
  11. http://www.jsonline.com/news/crime/43598722.html Milwaukee PD are switching from shotguns to rifles. They are using our range for the next year or so to qualify officers on the new rifles. Couple of shots of Ted in the video that I thought you might be interested in. Tom
  12. Do a search for "floating Hand" in the revolver forum. Lots of info. It was the 625-2 models that had the floating hand. Tom
  13. I have an airsoft revolver I will sell you real cheap if that answers your question Dryfire the piss out of it, make up some dummy ammo for practicing reloads and you are good to go. Tom
  14. C'mon Mike, I saw you post in another lefty reload thread and thought for sure you had some new pictures The video is shot a little low to see everything. It looks pretty solid to me. The only thing I saw is when you grab the gun with your right hand, you get pretty close to the end of the barrel, an over zealous RO could call you for sweeping yourself if he is watching real close. I am a lefty revolver guy myself. Tom
  15. 1997 F-250HD 4x4, 102,000 miles. 12MPG with a tail wind. 2001 Harley Davidson FLHTC, 32,000 miles. 40MPG. Thats what I take to all my major travel matches
  16. Applications are starting to come in. Stages are almost finished, if you liked "Getting Elevated" last year it is going to see a reincarnation for this years match Tom

  18. Come on Mike, you had all winter to come up with some new material and the best you could do was a different picture! I am dissapointed to say the least Although for some strange reason I did giggle a little bit when I saw it. Now back to the original question. I do just as Houngan says in #1. And yes I do actually wear a glove on my right hand to keep from burning the webbing between my thumb and pointer finger on the forcing cone, so Mike was correct about that, kind of. I use the Hougue release on all of my guns, it makes reaching the release with left thumb while still gripping the gun easier, this will depend on hand size. Let gravity help the moons out of the gun, tip the gun up and they will fall to the ground with just a little help from the ejector rod. I tend to keep the gun around my waist when doing a reload, most of the time if you are reloading, you are moving to another spot to shoot or you should be. It is easier to move or run with the gun by my waist than it is holding it up at the same spot as when you are shooting. It is less movement if you are doing a standing reload, which can't be avoided sometimes, but I feel that happens less than reloading on the move does. Tom
  19. Those are just general skills to practice. Doing them like you say you are is good practice. You don't see it alot at matches, but when you do you can sure tell the people that have practiced even a little bit. Weak hand transfers never are. You are trying to be so careful about not putting your off hand trigger finger in there to soon they always feel like they are in slow motion. Tom
  20. I drilled out the front sight on my 9L so the rod goes all the way through it. You then heat both ends up with a lighter and you are good to go. This set-up mostly resembles my FO set-up on my revolvers which I am used to. Tom
  21. I can't find any of those in this area. Do you know their number designations? I'm not worried about being a grandbagger. I'm a D shooter at the moment. It would be nice to have a C or B card to show some progress though. Besides, if I'm really classed outside my skill, it only hurts me. Sandbagging on the other hand, hurts others. IMO= In my opinion SHO= Strong hand only WHO= Weak hand only
  22. IDPA only allows a 4" barrel on a revolver. Depending on if you are shooting only local matches, they might let you shoot the 5", but any sanctioned match it has to be a 4" If it were me, I would get a 625 with the 5" barrel. It would exclude you from IDPA, but would be perfect for USPSA and ICORE. I guess it depends on what type of matches are available to you locally. Tom
  23. Is that the Google way of drawing stages? That looks awesome.
  24. Thought the MSRP was in the $1450.00 range. Tom
